EMAIL THE SEC: protectdefi.org/
The SEC put out a little proposal... If enacted it could crush crypto technology all without even mentioning the words defi or cryptocurrency.
How is this even possible? Is this a mistake.. intentional ignorance..? Or something else altogether?
Fade intensity to next section
This new proposal by the SEC plans to expand on the word “securities dealer” to Specifically include treasury dealers... Making them subject to much more regulation.
Now wait... you’re probably wondering how this relates to crypto at all? I mean the title of the proposal is literally about government securities dealers... not crypto...
Well... in this case, it’s all about the footnotes... the fine print
See on footnote 36 it states that this rule would apply to securities defined by the document... as well as ANY digital asset that is a security as defined by the Securities Act

You could move to Switzerland. In some regions (Cantons) cryptos count as normal money. They tax it like money in a bank account. They don’t interest in what you are staking or selling. I am so grateful that Zurich has not any hard regulations on crypto 🍀😊
tired of the FATF and Gensler is just warrens lap dog so he can get promoted, he's the biggest sell out in my opinion, he has a PHD in this area and knows first hand how decentralization could improve the lively hoods of so many regular people
The Government is PUBLIC and so is their fake $Dollar this won’t affect Man or Woman who OPERATE in their PRIVATE and UNLIMITED CAPACITY and use PRIVATE money such as GOLD and BITCOIN and imagine having a PRIVATE and UNREGISTERED TRUST like the ELITE use and then do not have PUBLIC identification such as a PASSPORT or DRIVERS LICENSE then LEGAL FICTIONS like GOVERNMENT have no Jurisdiction over man or woman. The is no LAW saying you have to have Government identification.
I’d there a good overall this is what things are video for crypto? So I understand most of crypto and how it works but you still use some language and Info I don’t understand. Who is with me?
I got you fam. I do the same, with great caution of course.. when I know I'm in some good profit for sure, I sell a bit. When it's plummeting and I feel like it's bottomed out and have the urge to buy, I wait just a little longer and keep an eagle eye on the market for the right signs. I always remember though, and yeah it sounds like a broken record but so true, "time in the market will always outperform timing the market." Benjamin Cowan coined that if I'm not mistaken lol. Government failing us as usual. Smh
What people should be aware of: Crypto's the great equalizer. It puts more power back in our hands.
@@MaxMaher Which is exactly why the government is afraid of it.
Government wants control everything you touch or own.
Great content.well said
There is no such thing as a small amount of good government regulation. The end game will always be total control.
The scary part is genuine "Blockchain" is just speech and recordkeeping.
It won't be regulable.
Soooo many legacy types just haven't realized this yet, but that's why it's a silent revolution. Not just for us, either:
most economies and powers in the world, far more than the USA, are utterly dependent on monetary control and finance for political viability and social stability.
In the words of Peter Zeihan, money to them is "a political, more economic, good." (Zeihan isn't a crypto fan, btw!) That includes major industrial and financial powerhouses known to be as fiscally irresponsible as...Germany.
The USA is almost singularly the only nation-state that is, or even can be, an exception.
Blockchain means the world would change unimaginably even if the USA hadn't ceased holding up the Bretton-Woods proposal (policing the world and letting everyone sell to you without having to open their markets to you).
All the tools and thinking are forced, by crypto, to change entirely.
Very likely, to an incentives (vs a coercive) system.
The powers that be that not only realize this, but successfully adapt to this (VERY quickly) have potential to become unprecedentedly powerful and wealth-generating.
My hope is the USA figures it out and acts accordingly in the next elections cycle.
@@infinitelink They don't have to regulate the blockchain to control it. They can regulate the peripheral layer where humans must interact. I hope it doesn't go down this path, but it would be foolish for me to think governments are just going to give up control.
The USA has a powerful gaslighting operation in the media. The elections are mostly masses of zombies participating in a mind control experiment.
Your view doesn't make sense. It's voluntary regulation. They ask people to provide their wallet address on taxes. Soon government will convince itself that crypto isn't taxed enough and people will have to comply or go through a hellish audit. Blockchain and specifically Bitcoin is so transparent that anyone who has tried to hide has failed. Silk road failed. Pipeline hackers and Bitfinex hackers failed. Only privacy coins are unable to be regulated.
Idk, regulation keeps the rat turds out of my sausage
Yes there is! So you want the rich whales to have absolute freedom to manipulate the market?
If the government actually cared about inherent risk in the market, they'd peg the dollar back to gold. They won't. This isn't about regulating risk, it's about making sure the "little guy" doesn't get too cock sure of himself and maybe not need "the system" anymore...
Wicked game!
Great video as usual!
I bit all companies will move to El Salvador soon. Even the crypto dealers :)
Wow thats tuff. Seems like there waiting for the market to go back up so they can see which alt coins and projects do well so they can regulate and stop gains for the majority. Makes it hard to have a strategy.
crypto is a new paradigm, it doesn't require fitting into existing laws or even bending to accommodate old concepts
crypto needs to start with a clean slate, no predefined states of being or forced models
The only thing crypto should be subject to is common law, that is, "you should do no harm"
This is the only law humans should be subjected to and that includes any invention they create, including crypto
Everything is about money and control and greed. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
They’re shooting themselves in the foot. Unfair regulation will just lead to these companies leaving the U.S. Meaning they’ll be missing out on billions worth of investments, they need to do some research before pointing fingers.
Max is vechain still a good investment?
But the central bank will be happy to use blockchain technology for their Central Bank Digital Currency.
Thanks for the update Max! Every time I find something fun somebody comes along and changes it! 😞
That's what government agencies do best, "cock-blockers". Truth is we can thank the scammers for all these harsh regulations. I'm gonna laugh my balls off when the central banks Blockchain gets hacked and it's all donated to a charity feeding starving children.
and how about latest EU announcement about Russia crypto ban.see it as the sign for BTC growth, moreover charts on Finex look the same
defi isn't really defi if it can be censored/regulated by any government. defi means DECENTRALIZED finance.
I hope if the government tries to enact limitations that the people don’t like that the people respond in a legal yet steadfast way.
Idc if its legal if they’re going to continue to try and way overstep their boundaries by squashing any and all freedom. Cut their heads off in front of their children
This could get fun in the hands of billionaires given the following:
"Blockchain" isn't an asset. Not even in the form of "crypto." Nor "securities."
It's literally... speech.
The best part is this:
it's speech communicated... to yourself.
e.g. if you transact "crypto", you're actually writing... to your own records.
That's it.
Then others take a peak at the records. If they agree that it's a valid write, they accept it.
That's the underlying power that FREAKS OUT a lot of regulatory minds. (I actually don't blame them as there are many reasons for the ideas and practices they have in...a system of finance that's control rather than communication based.)
"Blockchain" (not all "crypto" is actually Blockchain--those that aren't...) is a technology... that works on the basis of communication TO YOURSELF FIRST, so is protected by Amendment I jurisprudence and the written Constitution.
If you regulate it, if it's REALLY Blockchain, you're claiming you can infringe Amendment I.
That's also a large part of the game theory and why the people who built it... spoke of it as "uncensorable" vs "unblockable transactions."
That also poses an immense problem for this kind of proposal: if the defi code isn't a middle man but merely a communicated contact, it's not a service, just communication...
Sometime should inform Congress about this. Lots of money to be made (and they're allowed to trade at any time with any info and advantage regardless of telling others fairly etc).
I volunteer you to the congress!
You make no sense
Satoshi: You can print your own money. Bankers: REEEEE!

God I’m sick of the government
It irks me to read the proposal the same day as the UK announcing a plan to become a global hub for crypto.
I don't think we should reduce good investment by how it goes down or bad ,sometimes a coin can be going up and also be very bad for crypto .
How much does it cost to publish a video on CZcams for promotion?
In most cases all around.... We are all better off if the government stays out of regulation... Or is allowed to have a maximum set of regulations on crypto... To prevent the government from over regulations of crypto. They already over regulate too much.
You’re absolutely right
Max (or whoever, really) I got a question: Would the dealer application process apply for DEXes who are created off-shore? I mean, I've seen places like Malta, and British Virgin Islands as a hive for crypto companies as they aren't related much.
Or will this apply the same as GPDR?
Jesus, he says it at the end of the video. No, they don't apply. Thanks Max.
Does this effect someone who is just a long term holder ? I don’t understand the lending and staking.
Because at some point you have to come to the market with your Crypto. Or ask the Canadian’s who’s accounts got frozen. The SEC and Treasury and IRS have the power to seize and freeze any of your assets. If they understand where they are.
My tip is to diversify your investment Jordan including platforms used! It helps you with risk management

I did a quick research on Cult DAO (CULT)
FA - Cult DAO and its funding process is completely decentralized. When you stake your CULT into the DAO, you are given dCULT, this can be swapped back at any time into the amount of CULT you staked originally, plus any rewards that were given to the DAO in the time period you owned dCULT.

If crypto/defi can only survive without it's obvious securitization being treated and regulated as a security... Then the outsized returns are mainly sourced from evasion - rather than intrinsic value generation. It's the ultimate defi/crypto litmus test: if it can thrive and maintain yield under proper regulation and taxation, then its intrinsic value is irrefutable.

Comparing the government to my mother really brought it home for me lol... But seriously, awesome information thanks dude.
The government applies poor policy proposals, in order to stratify and enhance forture proposals. For better or worse.

SEC versus Ripple, is a key lawsuit that will, IMO, heavily define the future for crypto. Right now, the SEC is losing and using a garden variety of stalling tactics. I think this case should be done by summer if not sooner. AND it's exposing just how corrupt the SEC really is. If the SEC loses this case, it will set a HUGE precedent in favor of crypto.

I feel confident that if the US can focus on it’s strengths it will be able to effect the world in a stabilizing way. As a technology investor I believe and assume you will agree innovation is one of the USA's greatest strengths. After deep research I have come to believe that crypto is the way of the future, that it is the greatest nascent innovation. I would strongly encourage you to do whatever is in your power to help this innovation or even better, just get out of the way. Obviously it has been born and excelled without any government intervention, for any intervention is a hindrance to the space, the nation and the peace of the world.
