Miyeon's pre-chorus, Yuqi and Shuhua slaying during the dance break and Shuhua's amazing acting (she has an extraordinary ability to convey deep emotion with just her eyes) are what stood out for me the most. This was amazing. ; )

theory time:
at the end of the video, Miyeon, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua are all dead
Miyeon gets drowned in the pool
Soyeon gets choked against the wall
Yuqi gets pushed down the stairs
Shuhua gets killed in the car
The clue is during the end of the MV they all appear in those places surrounded by flowers, often found in cemeteries.
The only one that appears without flowers is Minnie, who is the main protagonist and gets revenge for the others by killing the abuser, sailing alone to be happy.
You can make this fit the video, but not the lyrics. The lyrics speak of obsession and desire.

@@jars6230You’re right. It’s the “Psychotic” love that they are use to and desire to stay. It makes sense when you put 2 to 2 together. It’s talking about not leaving before it’s too late but they are so deeply in love, they die from their “partner.”
@@jars6230 It's important to remember that often times the victim can attach themselves to their abuser.
It's unfortunate but some people think they're not worthy of a normal, healthy relationship and thus fall victim to their abusers who take advantage of that. They might even seek out these shitty people because again, they think that's all they're worth. Some people have a very warped idea of what love is, and to some it means the abuse gets twisted into "Oh he just loves me so much, that's why he's like that" until it's too late... Many victims return to their abusers even after leaving them "He can change, he said he will".
It's crazy what manipulation can do to you.
I've also seen relationships where both parties are toxic in their own ways. The other mainly physically abusive, but both also manipulative and controlling. They basically eat away at each other while also refusing to let go "because I love them so much"... These people would be the type to consider a healthy relationship boring, because it's safe and doesn't make them walk on eggshells at all times.
So yeah. The MV can be about them being killed even with those lyrics. Maybe they're just too hooked in by the man, not able to see him for what he truly is due to the manipulation. Sometimes you just don't see what's right in front of you until it's too late.

A popular theory is that the guy is a serial killer. He drowned Miyeon, strangled Soyeon, killed Shuhua in a car crash and Yuqi by pushing her down the stairs (they are only ever seen in one place). The funeral flowers around them confirm they are dead. Minnie figures it out (possibly by help of previous victims' ghosts) just before her wedding, and, heartbroken, exacts old-style justice, laying the ghosts at rest.
Apparently this addresses an epidemic of domestic ab... use in Korea (and elsewhere). Even though it's hard, don't be "c'est la vie" and stay in the toxic relationship.
Domestic and sexual abuse is a major problem in SK.

Ngl i really thought at the beginning that the note was Miyeon until Minnie confirmed it. Like don't get me wrong, Minnie clearly has an amazing voice, Lion proved that.
But like it sounded so similar to Miyeon (at least to me) that I thought it was her. Hat's off to Minnie though, the note was beautiful 💜

There is kind of a famous class portrait picture of Miyeon in middle school with her glasses on and a rugby shirt buttoned all the way up that makes her look so nerdy, but I think that picture also shows where her goofy dorky personality comes from. You can literally see her hanging out with the band geeks or D&D nerds, quoting Monty Python and just being this very nerdy and random ENFP.
It's about surviving domestic abuse. It is suggested that Minnie is (matbe) the only one to survive the relationship, and frees their ghosts trapped in the places of their death, when she removes the toxic bastard. The songs "Eyes Roll" and "Flip It" from the album have similar vibes to this. Only I-DLE could broach such a topic, indeed.
The lyrics are the lyrics of obsession, not abuse. They sing of wanting a p.s.y.c.o.t.i.c kind of love, and sing of, Say my name, or say nothing at all. Relationship forms, turns bad and toxic. They separate. She obsesses. Kills him, is closer I think.

@@jamescurfman3284 Sure, there are many ways to look at it. Most of them are wrong. Even the video doesn't fit the revenge on the abuser narrative though. We have 4 stages in the video. New love. Toxic relationship. Then being alone. Then finale. Soyeon, imaging him stroking her hair, then looking up, to see no one there. The wedding scene, Minnie, heading into the wedding, then turns around, and its gone to hell, and she is alone. Yuqi, leaving, and stopping to look back, at the impassive guy. Miyeon, alone. None of this speaks of someone who has escaped to safety, it speaks of longing. And the line Saying my name or saying nothing at all, could be a threat from him to her, along the lines, If your not mine, noone can have you. Except he is the one no one can have now. I dont think they represent different people, but different manifestations of the one person. Minnie isnt avenging the others, she is the others.
He may be an arse, and even an abuser, and the relationship obviously went toxic, but then just reading that as being the whole story is a bit shallow imop, and you have to ignore a lot to make it fit. A story line in which Idle play the dark character is well within their repertoire, and is a much more interesting narrative imop.
