I adored Psalm for the wild-built! It was really comforting for me as someone who is chronically ill and unable to work and on many days unable to do anything other than lie here and watch youtube. I think it's a message that a lot of people could benefit from hearing!

Since you liked a psalm for the wild built, I would strongly recommend you check out the wayfarers series by the same author. It’s got like very cozy vibes and is character driven but the stories themselves have more of a plot to them. Each book focuses on different characters on different planets or ships and it’s just really interesting

I really need to do another 24 hour read-a-thon but I'm not sure when I can fit it in! I tried doing to timer method recently but it's annoying with audiobooks especially when listening while driving and remembering to start and stop the timer
well i hope you can potentially find time for one soon because they really are so fun! but i totally see why it would be annoying with audiobooks!

Voyage of the Basilisk is the next Lady Trent book on my list to read. Really enjoyed the first one which I finally read last year after having it on my list for years (seriously for four or five years). After seeing you read the first one, I remembered I had it and so read it physically and listened to the audiobook. The Stormlight archive is also on my list - I bought the US mass market paperbacks last year because I was daunted by the way the Australian versions are all split into two parts - which meant reading six books rather than three! Broke my brain, I don’t mind long books…😹😹. Hope to read the first one this year.
If you are looking for different types of scifi to try - have you tried ‘space opera’ yet? Lois McMaster Bujold wrote this amazing series commonly referred to as the Vorkosigan saga - it is so much fun!
If you wanted to try it - I suggest either starting at the first two books - the Cordelia Naismith books (Shards of Honour and then Barrayar - there is also an omnibus called Cordelia’s Honour which has both) or you can jump forward to the third book - Warrior’s Apprentice - which introduces Miles Vorkosigan as the main character - I won’t spoil anything but there is a connection between the two characters. Cordelia is a Betan Survey Captain and astro cartographer who meets up with some Barrayarans (Barrayar is a planet) while on a survey mission to another planet (not Barrayar or Beta) and adventures ensue.
Miles is a Barrayaran - 17 years old and military mad - but faces some life challenges with pursuing his goals. His approach to addressing his challenges is to apply some forward momentum and chaos (of the slightly brilliant and highly creative kind) ensues!
I think you’d enjoy these books. Available as ebooks, audiobooks and paperbacks (though the audiobook narrator took some getting used to for me)and probably in your libraries. I read them all originally in physical copies and my copies are falling apart as I reread them every year.
You remind me so much of Gracie Abrams. Like you look like her but also both of you just seem so kind and sweet and just like the nicest people on the planet.

I see in the latter that you report your impressions from a reading of A Psalm for the Wild-Built. I haven't read it. On the other hand, I read To Be Taught If Fortunate. It's a novel that I enjoyed.
