I wonder if being between dark winter and dark autumn is common because a lot of us can be regarded as Cool Olive skin tones, especially confusing if in the light cool olive color. We need to add shimmery copper/rose gold to determine warm/cool/neutral.

Thanks for that. It helped SO MUCH!

As someone who is getting used to the color spectrum, thank you for covering all the points that are confusing - particularly your statement of someone can be between two seasons and not fitting one completely. Vacillated between dark winter and dark autumn for a bit, but now more confident to say that I lean toward a neutral cool undertone, placing me slightly more as a dark winter.

For me it's lighter ashy hair with the effect of the sun burning pigments in it + light peachy-muted veil that mute my "soft deep winter" (16 season system) palette: I'm usually super pale olive so the icy colours usually make me look green... in the summer, I can wear icy almond green, icy arctic blue, icy mauve and icy periwinckle without looking green. I lean towards soft summer when "tanned" (or at least "more in peachy colouring" because I don't tan per se) because I have less contrast between the usual pale complexion and dark ashy hair. In the summer I avoid fuschia and deep purple that are my favorites colour all year around but can rock warmer lighter colours or neutral medium ones as in summer soft which I can't during 10 month a year!

Im dark autumn but im on the warmer end. For instance ,i dont look my best in the blues or the aubergine and burgundy, these colours bring out a grey tone in my skin ehen im pale, this is beauce these colours contain more blue and so pull the blue from my skin causing a bit of a s greyish cast to my skin. Although these colours do work well with my muted skin tone and high contrast levels , these colours are a bit too cool for me but look fine when i have a tan. I look best in rust , forest green , olive green and chocolate brown , these colours look my best colours no matter how loght ir dark i get. People who are more towards the neutural side will look better in the cooler colours of the palette than other Dark autumns closer to warm.

YES! I talk about this in my videos, the seasonal chart is a spectrum, that's why sister seasons are mentioned and important! You can borrow colors from your sister seasons, sometimes you fall into one more than the other, I see this happen with the inbetween seasons when there's neutral undertones. Dark Autumn-Dark Winter, Soft Summer-Soft Autumn, Light Spring- Light Summer and Bright Spring-Bright Winter. :)

Even with foundation, cool and neutral look too pink, warm colours look orange.. silver looks okish for me but not ideal, gold looks good on me but 18k gold is too yellow and garrish, a light gold colour, like more champagne looks better. @@Isamolle Ohhh thank you very much!! that is super helpful! It's funny what you say about the eyelashes thing and eyebrows bc when I was in school as a youngster i'd dye my hair black a lot but it wasn't a thing to dye your eyebrows back then. I will definitely try out these colors! :D
As for the albinism thing, you know I still have a hard time understanding it at times haha. I have done a little research into this because i just can't believe the rest of my family has black hair and tan skin yet my mom, brother, and i were born with white hair and stuff and wanted to try and grasp why. My dad has black hair that used to be white up until teenage years. So I think all it takes for my type, OCA2 is two copies one from each parent, to get albinism. It is high in norse countries due to when primate ancestors evidently moved across from Africa up there and spread out. I'm not sure about Norway or Iceland, because most of the studies seem to be around Sweden for some reason at least find. I'll link you to one of them, from what I understood, is in addition to OCA2, there are even more forms than the OCA genes, which is what I never knew, and I do know when tested for some reason only the OCA types are looked. Im not sure if these are recent findings but you may know more than me about it, doctors aren't well versed because I dye my hair dark a lot so half the time I guess they think I'm lying or joking and I owe it all do my box dye of Just For Men on my eyebrows and eyelashes to seal the deal on my "natura'" brunetteness 😂

AFAIK orange is not in the winter or summer seasons, so for sure you're not a primarily warm season. I say "primarily" bcos I've seen other analysts give a 1st/ primary season (ex Soft Autumn), then give a secondary season (ex light spring). You may be an in-transition type: soft summer to soft autumn, or light spring to light summer. In that case, choose the summer palette as your primary, then the warmer spring/ autumn season (get the cooler colors) as your secondary. Cocoa Styling said that you can borrow colors from your sister season (the one beside your main season) in the seasonal wheel. You have to drape yourself (maybe go to a discount store or Goodwill) to confirm. Bring a friend for a 2nd opinion. Watch the draping vid of ASMR Twix (summer) and Xixiplease (spring). In another video you said you're dark winter, but how come gold flatters you better????

Ofter these things do not matter that much. Use The clothes that flatter your complexion and the ones you like. If a professional analyses an hour about ideal color, it does not really matter that much. I am previously winter. Now I wear orange and could not bother less

Gold looks awful on her. She shines in Silver

I haven't done an analysis on Selena, she might be a winter but I haven't thoroughly checked. The thumbnail is just an example that some people get confused with the seasons when they tan :)
