This is great to share, its time for Africans to break the silence, record, and expose how things are done to promote change. Its up to Africans. Africans American can't speak for Africa cause many of us have not even been to Africa. The youth have a chance to promote change, get into government positions, creators of laws, education, etc .....

iyoo Yode 😱this is scary!!! I'm a South African & my mother travelled to Zambia via the Botswana bordder and she complained about the same thing in the Botswana Border (where officials demanded bribes from those who needed to cross). I am EMBARRASSED to see Diasporians (who are "also Africans receive the same treatment, right in their father's land💔💔💔. Please fellow Africans let's reconsider this, IT'S VERY SHAMEFUL!!!.
Wode Maya a BIG THANK YOU 🙏 for opening our eyes to these trivial outragious corruptions in Africa's Border Gates. I explore my continentof Africa through your camera lense and you've inspired to travel & tour our continent of Africa. Botswana is one of them one the CZcams from South Africa was complaining about monies that is paid without receipts. Our traditional African culture is centred on values, it would have been easier for us to unite, hundreds of years ago, when we shared the same values but due to outside exploitation and indoctrination, our values have made us strangers with one another, we with, sometimes good reason, can't trust one another. A unification without the unification of values, will quickly degenerate into exploitation. Before we flee our countries, we must ask ourselves, what are we running from, and can we change that is in us, causing us to flee our motherland, lest we go and become a burden in another man's lands.

Well it's a romantic idea that we don't need borders in Africa, in all honesty we do need them we are a politically, and economically unstable continent..for us to adopt the 'American borderless states' we would need a central government with one President, one currency and more or less a common constitution and bill of rights..what would be the use of moving around Africa when u need to foreign exchange in every country?? All this is possible but first Africa needs stability, and recognize that we are the same people yet different in some aspects such as traditions, and leadership styles, diversity, religion etc... I would be in favor of an African passport than open borders

Very few countries in the world have favourable borders; most were attained through wars etc. Africa's borders are a product of colonization and we should just accept it. Open borders like in the EU only work if we share the same level of development and economic parity otherwise, the more developed countries among us will be overwhelmed with economic migration like here in SA.
Yes, improvements should be made regarding ease of travel and doing business on the continent. Governments or blocks such as ECOWAS and SADC should make much more effort to develop their regions i.e. SA with Zim for accelerated upliftment leading to open borders once parity is achieved.
We're living in fantasy land if we think Africa didn't have borders before the colonist arrived. African Americans, Carribbeans I think should be given ease of access in the form of extended visas for visitation/residential as an ancestral right. The AU is the body through which most of these things should be addressed.

We know their psychology and weve never viewed them as our friends contrary to what yall believe . The countries you mentioned there didn't suffer they accomodated few political exilists and we should commend them for that but that doesn't mean that its a passport for everybody to disrespect the sovereignty of the country. We are African we should respect one another house ...but ive realized that South Africa isn't afforded that respect people feel like they can come and go as they pleases . Thats anti African nature atleast from this part of Africa the extreme South of Africa . During the olden days no Shaka's subject would just invade Moshoeshoe's territory un announced and visa viz . Open borders in Africa is a big NONO! Maybe I should say it is okay as long as you exclude SA. I get it, the colonizers drew these maps and left us in this predicament. However, it is dishonest of us to pretend that we were always one people. The colonizers failed to recognize that we are diverse people with ideas, beliefs, and cultures, and chose to label us as black. And that was their biggest mistake, and now we're trying to make the same mistake too because we are failing to recognize our own diversified nature. This open borders fantasy will only destroy some of the existing economies in the continent because countries with poor economies will see their citizens flock in troves to countries with the best or better economies. All this noise made by CZcamsrs does not represent the real concerns from the ordinary citizens in African countries. Most people want their own countries to get rid of corruption and create jobs. We got to stabilize our local economies before we can stress out about making the lives of CZcamsrs more convenient. It'll be nice to be able to travel easily within the continent but that is not the biggest issue we have at this time.
