"Some PAPers" are very "funny", they want high rankings, they want the power, they want the money, BUT, they don't want to hold any responsibility if they make mistakes, they don't want criticism, not even online criticism, they want "easy job".
When i was young, some of my colleagues have a chance to get promoted to higer ranks, but eventually, they rejected the offer. I asked them:"Promote good mah, salary is higher, can command people also". They replied:"You don't understand. Once get promoted, you have alot of things to do, your responsibility will be heavier, you will work longer hours, your interaction with your boss will be more frequent, meaning higher chance to get screwed by him".
Now, at my age, i can understand what they meant.....But like what i have said, some of our PAPers are very funny, they want the high rankings, the power, the money, but not the responsibility.....Haha.

Where to get the money. The very same people who ask for the poor to be given more money grumble when there is an increase in tax. Where do we get the money. We don’t have oil or natural resources. Running a Govt is not easy if you have brilliant ideas to contribute in helping the Govt on how to get money for the poor that will be great. Opposition don’t have a magic bullet. Singapore has to be fair to all races for Presidential elections. Malays and Indians are minority, we have to give them equal chance, since chinese is the majority population.
Don't forget the Singapore pledge "...pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society...." .
We had two Indian Presidents Mr Devan Nair and Mr S.R. Nathan, but ever since our first President Mr Yusof Ishak ended his term in 1970, till 2017 there was no President from the Malay community.
Mr Tan may feel that since he came in second in the 2011 Presidential election, he would have a chance to win the 2017 election, and the Parliament has deprived him of a chance. There were applications by other candidates in the 2017 Presidential election, but Mr Tan did not apply.
My point of view, he was ex-PAP member, and based on past political records his ideas won't be out of the box, mostly will be PAP style of thinking. We shall await to see if he wins and what changes he is going to make.

Judging from the PSP's manifesto along with some of the candidates for the upcoming election, it portrays an objective party worthy of the people's votes. Their approach is non-provocative and practical, which is what Singapore really needs at this point where transparency and accountability is lacking along with policy implementations and actions affecting a large majority of citizens based on assumptions from an "ignorant level".
PAP ruling is still very necessary for the sustainability and growth of the country, but it's about time to bring real matters / issues that truly resonate with Singaporeans who are on the ground to the Parliament.

As a whole, I don't think the PAP government did too badly in governing the country. But the cost of living is rising, esp medical cost which is a fact, this contentious issue could potentially bring the PAP down, if not addressed properly. Medical subsidies should not be restricted to just the poor and elderly. The middle class Singaporeans should also be taken care. Medical costs had risen so high that even with government subsidies, it seems like no subsidies at all. And this is just talking about government hospitals, not to even talk about private hospitals, which is beyond the average singaporeans. This is a direct result of the government making Singapore the medical hub, so much so that it attracts all the elite rich south east Asians people to come over for health care, making private health care out of reach for ordinary singaporeans.

The election date has not been announced and it could be as far as a year from now. So play this game safely and with super caution. They could be using this delay to plan how to respond to your allegations . So far TCB has rebutted HSK with conviction and that guy has not responded with respect to the Erosion of the three pillars.

  • @arrowstheorem1881
    @arrowstheorem1881 Před 5 lety +1

Do you viewers agree that HSK did not understand that "lack of transparency" is not "NO Transparency"?
I quote the Straits Times :
    www.straitstimes.com/politics/dpm-heng-rebuts-tan-cheng-bock-pap-takes-governance-very-seriously
    HSK said :
"He said that there's no transparency but at the same time he attacked the fact that the issue of Oxley Road was raised in Parliament," he added. "Now that is transparency, the fact that (the) Prime Minister was prepared to have this issue debated in Parliament, clarified in Parliament, is a very important aspect of our governance."
But TCB did not say there is NO Transparency. He said there is a LACK of Transparency.
    Quote the straits times :
Dr Tan, a former PAP MP of 27 years turned opposition politician had, among other things, charged there was a lack of transparency, accountability and independence in the appointment of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's wife Ho Ching as chief executive of Temasek, and in the use of Parliament to debate the issue of the fate of first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's house at 38 Oxley Road.
    End quote.
In case some of you still do not see the problem with what HSK said, let me illustrate what is the meaning of No vs Lack Of.
NO : No Balls means no balls. Not some balls but No balls. " NO" is Absolute . Here it means Not a ball is present.
Lack of Balls : this does not mean there is NOT one ball existing. It means there is at least one ball but the desired number of balls is not existing.
So should TCB sue? IBs you wanna respond?

For lhl, he was a silver-spooned kid, who was ignorance and "over-estimated" his capability.
But for goh chok tong, he "wasn't a silver-spooned kid", and he "climbed up his ranks through the years", at least "technically", it "appeared to be so".
