Easterner and westerner are the labels man has created Jason. Any one sincere in the pursuit of the absolute knowledge is deserving for that (Adhikari in Sanskrit). We do not know our past. It is a black box. You have done enough effort in the past lifes, so you are able to pick it up and appreciate it. I am happy for you.

Its Good that you are explaning 2nd chapter of Patanjali yoga sutras. I m an Enlightened Person of this century and I can see You are clearly Erring/ giving wrong explanations in many parts of these sutras. That clearly shows you have no experience but only bookish knowledge of what Patanjali is trying to explain.

Sutra 2.20, the seer perception seing himself in a Third Party angle. Is just like a football match between Team A and Team B, originaly the Seer is the member of Team A, but he "Pratyaya" withdrawal himself from Team A, and making himself as an Audiance watching the match, without support any team and having no feeling for both Team lost or win the match. Purely at the position of Observer.
This topic also appear in the Rigveda, Rishi Devata Chandass Samhita.

Here conversion is elevating the SOUL into the realms of higher dimensions that is ALWAYS KALYANAKARI i.e.BENEVOLENT
Whereas the conversions (forced) based on ones religious identity is ALWAYS VIOLENT.

It is TRUE that our sages and saints were bestowed with various उपाधियां on acquiring the prescribed knowledge of that उपाधि.
Certain example of these उपाधियां are as:-
    1. वशिष्ट
    2. व्यास
    3. भारद्वाज
    4. इंद्र
    5. विश्वकर्मा
    6. शिव
    7. विष्णु
    8. ब्रह्मा
    9. श्रृंगी
    10. विश्वामित्र
    11. नारद

There is no negative impact to the social interactions based on the Yoga Sutras.. There is a proper state of Mind for each such interaction and social/personal transaction.. and one is in one for the Four Ashrams.. These are preparatory steps towards the final goal. and how you perceive and relate each interaction with the people you come across !! and in the last 2 ashrams, these are put to practice and remember one has to leave his body, by himself and none else accompanies him, from here, apart from The Lord !! So Its more of what is the Ashram one is in, and how you prepare yourself towards that final Purushartha of Moksha and how we practice them in the last 2 ashrams.. so its more on the way we handle the situations by the proper use of the Mind.. and the study of the Yoga Sutras is in no manner, confined to a particular Ashram.. so there is no negative impact why because one is in a different ashram !! The study can be taken up in any stage.. and how one applies it in a particular situation, when it is demanded out of you !! Good Luck !!

    • @SurashKan
      @SurashKan Před 8 měsíci

And, btw, one can pass through life events and every single transaction and interaction with a Neutral Mind !! The Mind that doesnt get attached to the outcome or the results, but rather take it with a neutral state !! Such People, accept every outcome/results, (no matter what it is), with a neutral mind !!

Hi , im from kerala ur doubt on vysa , i think i can clear it atleast i can share my knowledge from kerala vedic that my gurunathan taught me. Explanation is as follows:
Consider circle as whole knowledge of veda and do u know
diameter of a circle is known as
व्यास i.e vyasa is one who knows the whole length/ depth of knowlede in vedas. And as circle has many diameter, there are many vyasa who know the depth of knowledge of veda
Also i like to share the fact that pathanjali yoga is yoga key points from all 4 veda. Which veda vyasa ( krishna dwaparaya ) commented on.
When you go into pathanjali yoga sutra you will see the world in a new perspective.
I edited this comment of hearing ur mention of Bhagavad-Gita- it also misinterpretation modern day, actually krishna deprived the most important key verse from veda and summeried his knowledge / understanding to arjuna , to make him like Krishna's mindset .

One can experience these teachings by understanding the true nature of ‘Self’ as explained by Maharishi Ramana by a very simple process of ‘Self Enquiry’; “Who am I?”
    Summary of Chapters:
Chapter One: Goal of this life journey of 36000 days; Realization of ‘Self’ from the current state of ‘self - Ahankara, state.
Chapter Two: Means of realization: Intuitive process of ‘Self Enquiry’ through a simple question of “Who am I?” The Self Enquiry process propounded by Maharishi Ramana!
With this intuitive questioning, one realized the ‘Nirbiza Samadhi and all states the 8 limbs of yoga!

Thank you so much for this treasure! But my I politely offer a slight correction based on other translations of Sutras that I have seen. At 2:08:52, when talking about verse 2.40, you translate as "by following cleanliness there is no longer an aversion for ones own body parts and attachment and craving does not build up for others' body parts", but does it not mean the opposite in regard to ones own body? Other translations I read say the opposite of what you say, i.e., that by cleanliness, one DOES develop aversion (or, as you say, that "yuk feeling") for ones own body. Please don't mind my correction, it is meant constructively, and your work is greatly appreciated

Namaste! Sincere gratitude for everything you are doing!
For the sutra 2-23 at 1:29:13 , can I interpret as follows -
To realize the True Self ( same as reaching potential of Purusha and self ) , required a union of seer/Drashta and perception /sensation / Drushyam .
