    Very nice. You gave me some ideas for my own pit. Thank you from Texas.

    You are certainly serious about having a fire. Great video, never would have thought that the tank was that thick. Thanks.

      Yes we take our fires very seriously, lol. I have a lot of good memories around the fire, it's where we wind down at the end of the day and talk, plan for the future, and dream. It's one of those things that we look forward to at the end of a long hot summer, winter with a fire!

    A great idea for a really nice fire pit. Looks like lots of fun to warm up by.

      We've lost count of how many fires we've had in it. We really enjoy it!

    When you split that smaller one you will be shocked at the heat it puts out. I split a 55 gallon drum like that and welded angle along the cut the whole length plus about 6" over on each end so you could pick it up. Even it lasted longer than those HD Lowes ones. I've been looking for a 500 gallon propane tank to do just what you have done. I can't think of anything better and more relaxing than sitting around a fire! Nice job!

    Fire pit conversion turned out great! Good thing you have a steady supply of wood. Yeah I thought you were going to whip out a set of cutting torches or something in the beginning. 👍

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 4 lety

      I wish, out of all the tools I have, torches isn't one of them.

    Check out the $200 plasma cutters on Amazon. I bought one 5 years ago and it has done me well. Used it a lot too. Built 300 yards of pipe fence with it so really put it to the test. When I got mine I think they were $150

      @TKCL  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you! We have been burning in it the last two nights and weather is looking like we can continue to use it for another week or more. It sure eats a lot more than the other pit, so I'll need to stay on top of the firewood production.

    I was expecting you to use a torch, but it turned out awesome anyways. I also though it might need a few air holes cut close to the bottom, but it seems to burn good just like it is. Good job.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 4 lety

      I don't own a torch either 😢. It does burn a dark red flame with smoke in the beginning, indicating starving for air. However once you get a coal bed going it burns hot, no smoke and a lot of blue flame. Thanks for watching!

    Cut50 plasma cutter works really well. Can be 110 or 220v . Around 200 bucks. It's a cheap but for small stuff like this they work great

    • @TKCL

      I've been thinking about getting one for a few years now

    Okay, your CZcams name made me think you might have a channel. I just watched your wood splitting #75 and I am interested on how this pit thing works out. FYI, I found you on Mike and Melisa's channel, The Morgans. I'm the one who commented on the winch sale. Anyways, Y'all have a great day, and I'm a gonna finish this here video.
    Update: That pit turned out nice!! I'm pretty sure your great grand kids will be telling their kids the story of how you built it and what not. There is no way that bad boy is gonna go bad in the next 200 years, it's crazy thick!!

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for stopping by, yes we (my wife and I) have a outdoors channel as well. Firewood, tractors, food plots, projects ect. The fire pit is working fantastic, we have been using it all week. Thanks for stopping by!

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 4 lety

      I hope you are right, I'm tired of these cheap thin pits burning out. It's nice to see something robust and built out of thick metal for once.

  • @carllidbury766
    @carllidbury766 Před 4 lety

    Hello mate may be a 12 inch angle grinder would be a cheap quick fix way of cutting that thick steel what a fire pit though I suppose it was in evitable with all that firewood you have you need to upgrade from those cheap thin small pits Nice one

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 4 lety

      You've got a great point going with a much larger angle grinder, I'll have to look into that. Yes I was pleasantly surprised with how thick of metal is on that tank, it should last a long time before burning out.

    Let me know if your interested in getting rid of the rest of that tank once you cut the other end off. Here in Florida myself just outside of Jacksonville.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 4 lety

      I think I'm going to keep it, metal is in high demand and there is always projects that pop up I can use on. I've already been thinking about a fire ring with a swivel cooking grate.

    What do you charge for the round fire pits?

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 3 lety

      They vary in price due to me offering many different sizes. Email me at Kelleyscountry@gmail.com if you are interested in one, I can discuss all the sizes and prices.

  • @frankboggs
    @frankboggs Před 3 lety

    Love the fire pit, do you still have the other end of the tank?

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes I do, thinking about using the middle for a stump burner and the other end for another fire pit.

    • @frankboggs
      @frankboggs Před 3 lety

      Would you sell the other fir pit......

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 3 lety

      I hadn't thought about it, I might. Had really planned on just making a backup fire pit. I doubt I ever burn this one out since it's so thick.

    • @frankboggs
      @frankboggs Před 3 lety

      How much it worth

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 3 lety

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 4 lety

      This thing is awesome, we use it 3-4 times a week! It should last forever being about 3/8 thick steel!
