In this video, we take a first look at detailing Revit starting with smart tags. You can always use basic text but smart tags is the way to go.

After playing around trying to implement it, I found a right and left tag were needed to get a consistent clean look when the text wraps. Great video thanks!

Good idea with Type Comments + Comments! Sometimes I used to use Generic Annotiation Family with label as text input. Afterwards it's easy to schedule it (schedules-> note block -> your generic annotation family). Then I see all posible text notes in the project.

Would you be willing to share the detail tag family that you are using? Thank you!

Glad I found your youtube channel, you have great revit videos. If you were to make the 'HOLOW' mistake you could use Find/Replace to change all HOLOW text to HOLLOW.
I am trying to find a video on best practices for tagging elevations with notes such as 'roof at 30° pitch' and 'brickwork as per schedule'. Do you have any videos or tips for this? I am currently using text notes for elevations as the builders I work with don't like looking at a keynote and having to refer to a schedule..

Thanks for the kind words and I am happy to have been a help! I dont have a video specific to that but it is a good idea. I have some on tags though. I will consider putting on together about that though.

Is there a way to get the category tag to report the component thickness being used? Like if switch between plywood thickness example 3/4" Plywood Sheathing or 1/2" Plywood Sheathing

Yes, this would have to be done with an IF formula in the family itself. Likely a shared parameter as well so it would translate to a tag.

Revit = How to make easy things complicated and complicated things complex in the name of smartness and parametric! Now a days students spend more time in learning this overcomplicated software like Revit instead of learning the real Architecture!
