  • Was the A17 Pro Chip in iPhone 15 Pro better than the A15 Bionic Chip in iPhone 14? Was the 6 core GPU exactly what you needed rather than the 5 core GPU? Walking past an aisle and finding your attention being grabbed by the latest XBOX with 16GB GDDR6 w/320 bit-wide bus and a true 4K Resolution? Materialism not only surrounds us but envelops us into the tightest embrace one can never get out of. From companies spending hours using YOU as their product, they keep advancing their techniques to illustrate a fake illusion around you, imitating a suffocation that leads to your chest painfully constricting and you gasping for the very next breath. Naseeha Institute presents a WSG by Moeen Mahmood, "Materialism Trap" which effectively talks about the ways this temporary world attracts you in the most powerful and abusive of clutches.

Salam. What helped me was one thing: Keep going. Don’t stop. Shaykh Arsalan once said in UOL that, “Himmat na haarna. Aap kai liye aakhri Rasool (SAW) nai ro kar duain maangi hain.” Another one said that this is also a gift from Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala that you FEEL this. The problem arises when people make it a part of their identity that we cannot change it so lets just keep going with it. No. Keep working hard.
Allah Subhaanahu was Ta’ala created man weak. We slip, we make mistakes, me commit sins but let me tell you one thing. Adam (AS) and Shaytaan, both committed sins. What’s the difference? One repented and one did not. Repent. Keep going back to Allah. Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala says kaih agar eik aisee duniya hoti jis mai insaan ghalati na karay, mai uss ko tabah kar kai eik aisee duniya banaya jis mai woh ghalati karay aur phir repent karay.
It’s okay to fall. Once the sahabi went to the Prophet (pbuh) and said that Ya RasoolAllah, sometimes we have such and such thoughts that instead of telling it to you, it’s better if we are risen in the sky and thrown from there. What did the Prophet say? “It’s okay. It’s a test of your imaan.” So keep going. You fall, you get back up again.
Another thing, Shaykh Arsalan has a wsg called Tawakkul. From self reliant to Allah reliant. Just the way a baby has tawakkul over its mother that she’ll feed him, change him and hold him whenever needed, so he always looks up at his mom when he needs her. That baby has full tawakkul over the mother. Give yourself to Allah in the same way. And tell Allah that aap nai himmat deni hai. Aap nai chalana hai.
Lastly, company. Surround yourself with people who remind you of Allah Rabbul Izzat. There is a hadith that, “A person walks on the path of his friend.” Be with people who constantly remind you of Allah and can be your support. And keep going. It’s okay to fall. Better to fall and get back up rather than fall and indulge in sins. Atleast you can say to Allah that Ya Rabb, I tried. I was weak but I tried my utter best. Allah also says that try your level best and then leave it to me. “They plan and Allah too plans yet the best of planners is Allah.”
Allah also says in the Quran, “La yukhalifulahu nafsan illa wus aaha.” I do not burden a soul beyond that it can bear. Always remember, Allah himmat pehlay daita hai, then aazmayish. Good luck. Hold onto Allah and keep walking. Your Rasool never stopped, the sahaba never stopped, why would you? They also got himmat from Allah and that same Allah is yours. Keep going. May Allah assist you. Ameen.
