Its the peak of summer in Las Vegas and with temperatures well over 100 degrees, it felt really good to get into Goodwill's air conditioning. They were restocking the shelves as I arrived and soon treasures began to flow into my cart from the full shelves! @ThriftingVegas the conical mystery item at the four minutes mark appears to be the lid of a Moroccan clay tagine. It's great for chicken casserole and may be valuable. The bottom might have been in the cookware section

Yes, the mystery of the "Laurel" jar is solved, thank you so much! I also found out that although both Bay Laurel and Cherry Laurel leaves are used to make Bay Wreaths; Bay Laurel leaves can be used in cooking, but Cherry Laurel leaves are toxic when raw. oxo

I bought a Pom Pom maker in a charity shop here in Wales UK. I gave it to my daughter who passed it on to an activities worker in a nursing home as she already had one. All the residents are making Pom Poms, they are everywhere,and the residents have all bought their own Pom Pom makers I will get pics soon 😊 The best 99p I have ever spent. I can’t wait to see the pics of their creations

Love watching your videos. That piece shaped like a boomerang is an ashtray holder. I made one in the 60’s out of resin for my MIL and when she passed still had it so I have it now. A small ashtray fits in the circle.

Hi Tiffany, there is something that I have discovered, when I have purchased spoon rests with resort/country names written on them, the name actually washes off. Sometime ago, I purchased a kitchen spoon rest in Gran Canaria and as soon as I got home I washed it and the name came off. When I replaced it with one that I found in a charity shop with a different place name on it, that too washed away and I have a jolly spoon rest.
That's a great tip, thank you so much! If the cute Toucan plate is still there the next time I shop, I'll see if the "Costa Rica" is painted on top of the glaze. Fingers crossed! oxo
The cloche’s are cheese boards! My aunt gave me one yrs ago and it’s as good as new.

I think that the pottery Bowl went on top of that stand that you picked up
We were lucky enough to find that a hummingbird had made a nest last year hanging on the chain of our porch swing…the eggs never hatched but this year it was used again (not sure if it was the same bird) and 2 babies hatched…we could watch the mother come back to feed them…she would hang out on a palm frond nearby as there was no room in the nest once they hatched.

I just watched an old video where you went to Hearts Alive 2 years ago. You bought what looked like a ring with little beads on some kind on it. I hope you remember it. It was not a ring that's goes on your finger. From what I remember from the 60s or 70s, it was a scarf ring. You put the scarf around your neck and took the ends and pulled them through the pretty scarf ring which would hold it where you wanted b it. I have savedc2 of my favorite ones. But the one you had was beautiful. I'm sure you have sold it.
It's so amazing you found that Nantucket Sleigh Ride tile/trivet. I think it is quite rare but mostly because I mentioned recently to you that I like antique sleigh bells and Nantucket Lightship Baskets!❤

The ladybug piece is not glass it’s acrylic and I bought several at the 99C store. Later engraver and I bought many with different designed.
The butter dish with metal frame may have had a spreader hanging in the notch.

Have you ever seen the salt cellars with a tiny matching plate? I'm just curious if that was a common thing and if the plate was used like a saucer.
Laurel leaves were from Ancient Rome and can be seen in crowns on Roman gods and emperors. They are bay leaves. Spanish being a Romance language, it’s no surprise that’s their word for bay leaves. I missed the episode when you picked up that container, or I undoubtedly would have told you.
Great information, thank you so much! When I found the container, I assumed it was personalized for "Laurel". I'm still confused because I was taught that Bay Leaves should be stored in an airtight container to preserve freshness...
