In bareknuckle street fights it was either a STRAIGHTNER meaning just punching or an ALL IN where just about anything goes and is usually agreed upon before the fight especially a fight for money .
Iv heard gypsies and travellers call them " a fair go " where they don't hit a downed man and the ref keeps things civil, or " a dirty go " where two men just fuck eachother up, no knockdown rules you can stamp on a guys head and nobody will stop you unless you look like you might kill the guy

The palm strike it not only a technique used in bkf so that the risk of broken ur hands is reduce. It's also something many trainers or fighters, also here on youtube, give as an advice when you got yourself into a fight and you don't know how to boxing. It's natural to make a fist when you strike but if you don't know how to hit with that you can easily broke your hand. The bone at the palm is much stronger so i don't broke so easy and you can hit someone real hard. Just try it at a punching bag or some and you can see how hard you can hit like that.
The first guy is former pro boxer, lmao. He use open hands only to make less damage to the opponent. Check some other videos with him...what are u talking about...
@@HollowMM i talk about the stuff that you learn in martial arts, you can even search it on google or youtube. And the reason is because you can brake your bones when you make a fist reala easy. 'And if you hit him hard with the palm he will notice it, specaily when you hit him on the nose or directly at the ears, but you have to be careful cause you can damage the other person for live or even more. So open Hand are only use to make less damage on your opponent,what you talk about? But as the nice guy i be i google it for you and here is the first rsult: The open palm strike is not only easier to use and relatively risk-free, but it can be equally if not more effective than a closed fist punch. With the risk of getting gory for a moment, the open palm strike can effectively break noses, cause severe lacerations, and even knock an opponent out.

The palm is also good when there is a fist injury during the fight.
