@@leight420 a faraday bag blocks signals. When you put a cell phone in one it looses all ability to be connected to WiFi and cell services. The phone can’t be tracked when in a faraday bag. Also, it will protect the electronic device from an emp. If you don’t want to be tracked through your phone you can put it in one of these bags and the phone can’t be tracked.

Do people ignorantly believe cell phones work like 2 way radios? If there's a major electric surge event, having a protected cell phone is useless. Because the cell phone towers and network will be down. A cell phone can't do anything on its own like a radio. The only reliable form of long distance communication will be HAM radio. A wonderful and interesting hobby for the technically minded intelligent individual. Unfortunately, HAMS are few and far between these days, since the younger generation never had an interest in the thorough and rigid training it requires to become a HAM, instead they would rather just communicate by internet. All the HAMS I know still on, are getting up there in age as am I.
I would love to see young people take a renewed interest in HAM radios and training, but I just can't imagine that happening at this point.

The phone itself isn't power. Its power lies in billions of others having one. Hams are weak because so few people have them and are listening.
Its like talking into a gigantic near empty room, so few are there to hear it.

Believe that would be dependent on if the central office still had power that feeds the lines. Not a telco guy though.

Cental office works off of battery DC voltage for a POTS line (plain ole telephone service).
As long as nothing has been fried in the C.O. it will work as long as their is diesel or propane in the tank to run the generator to charge the battery room.

The phone companies have switched most of the old school phone lines to fiber. The home phones won't work in an emp situation
Here's another question for you if you get called out to duty can you get called out to duty not to another military but if you get called out to somewhere in the residential or the public do you think you would also have to drop your classifications off with the armed reserves or national guards

but if you want to hide your signals, the faraday bag will do just that. The phone can be tracked with the towers and the phone's have gps.
Your phone can have files and maps saved in it the network may be down but your phone has information that you still can access that is saved ! At least that's what I'm thinking, but I could be wrong.

If hit by emf most likely there will be no cell towers working for your cell. Maybe a handheld ham radio, I carry one when camping far from any grid or cb range. Just a thought
Cellphones still have uses like memory storage for useful photos, audio and video recording, light source, storing written documentation, fire starter ( battery) etc

A faraday bag, is a bag that blocks all electronic signals. So if you put your phone in it, you can't be listened to or tracked through that🙂
A Faraday bag is designed to protect electronics from a high frequency EMP which could happen from a nuclear detonation or a big solar flare.

If i remember correctly, at the time he said that, he was also saying something to the effect that when an intense scenario of taking lives, that everything happens so fast that its difficult to process and that he has seen the human body do wierd things when it is shot. Im pretty sure he also said he saw a 50cal round do that to abody without hitting it directly.

Telling you I don’t mind if veterans get disarmed. You guys are so paranoid and even if you use the firearm you will most likely go to jail. You have the burden proving self defense and the prosecution will make it look like you used unreasonable force. Plus it is suspicious to walk around with a firearm even if the carry of it is lawful per 4th amendment precedent throughout the states. Basically if police see you with a firearm they will hold you suspect and stop you and even try to confiscate. If you talk like a loony former whatever they may throw you in a looney bin as you may be a danger to yourself and others. Just a thought. What do I know I am just a lawyer though. But it is evident by rulings, police practice, and current events that the 2nd amendment is chipped away to the point where if you carry you might as well be suspect to no good.
