Come and celebrate the summer solstice with me!
In this Litha video, you will find many ideas on how to celebrate Midsummer, learn more about pagan symbolism and southern German folk witchcraft as well as herb lore related to the day.
Recipe Solstice 'Red oil'
1. sterilize an empty container
2. Fill 2/3 with St John's wort blossoms
3. Top off with skin-safe oil
4. Let sit in the sun for 4 weeks
5. Strain blossoms and keep oil in a dark and cool place
Recipe sun wheel bread
250 g Milk
7 g active dry yeast
1 Tbsp sugar or honey
500 g flour
50 g oil of choice
2 Tbsp salt
if desired, coat with egg wash and sprinkle with seeds
Bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees
Recipe Green Witches' summer lemonade
x Water
x Sweetener of choice
x meadowsweet
x elderflower
x mallow
x sliced lemon
x other summer herbs of choice

This is my first witchy celebration that I’m going all out!!! Technically, I celebrated Beltane, but I didn’t do anything as I was sick. So this is my first real celebration. I’ve been cooking with an abundance of lemons (what I have plentiful of right now) and herbs, lighting candles and just having a good time.

Just a note--It's actually not recorded anywhere when Jesus was born. The story involves shepherds being out with their flocks, though, so it's generally thought he was born in early spring!
There's really no reason at all for Christmas to be celebrated when it is (other than supplanting winter solstice celebrations, sadly)!
True that! It's not quite correct in the video for the sake of brevity. From what we can gather now the birthday would most likely have been in June - the birthday has been set at a later date by the early church

It's raining all day here in my region...🥲
It's sad that I can't enjoy the sun today, but I know the earth needs the moisture, and she brings rain when she needs to quench her thirst. So, I'm trying not to feel too down about it, but I can't help but feel a little bummed. I can still show my appreciation in other ways. 🔆🌻☀️💛🏵🌟

It is so interesting how the church used the festivals of the people to gain a foothold in their lives. How the stories in our history overlap one another. The church would also build churches on top of sacred pagan meeting places where for centuries people would gather to celebrate the changing seasons. But let us always remember their history! my boyfriend's brother was born on june 25th, 6 months from and to Christmas. He gets a present every six months!! Haha, and my bf's bday is June 5, and whatever day his birthday falls on "Monday, etc" that's when Christmas will land on. :) Love the Omega symbol at the end....I learned of it after my friend captured a photo of an Omega sunset over the ocean..Happy Litha!! I was actually able to collect all these herbs and remember what you said from last years videos....Love the addition of your friend in the video. Such fun vibes. SUNNY!!

Glad to see and hear you’re over your bug/illness and see you at your best. I know I said I’m sceptical ‘which I am’ but I’m not where you’re concerned as you always lift my spirits. Would love to have a long chat with you over all these festivities on a historical note as I’m very interested in the old way’s or folklore. I know a lot of women were unfortunately tortured and put to death in the old day’s when all they where guilty of was using nature to help healing. I was brought up Church of England and not into a very religious family, I think by the time I was 10/11 ish I’d started becoming atheist which got stronger as I have got older and seen what religion can do. I have in the last two years been studying Nordic/Germanic old beliefs and gods. I fully appreciate why the old Saxons and Vikings believed what they did when they did before taken over by Christianity. I have read the Havamal and a lot of it seems to speak volumes to me then anything the bible has.
I do think the way they celebrated seasons, life and death and the venerated their ancestors was/is the best way to live.
I hope your retreats go from strength to strength Bex’s as I do believe you help a lot of ladies😉.

If we ever did have a long chat I think I’d try and get you to say herbs as much as possible😉 or as you say it “Erbs” 😂 I’m sure there would be something in Deutsch that I would say would make you laugh or smile🤣don’t ever change👍

Oh my gosh, I use to take the kids to the farmers market and get fresh strawberries. After dinner I'd blend together strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and a dash of heavy cream. We would sit and watch our favorite movie with the best milk shakes on the planet.

I use my home made red St Johns Wort oil as the base oil for my fiery wall of protection oil. Works really well

It's interesting to learn about how Christianity changes with pagan religions. Cause historically Jesus was born at the end of may. But was changed to December. What you talked about with st John and Jesus also parallels the Two Kings!
