  • In this video I compare two of the most desirable trims of the 2020 Toyota 4Runner, the TRD pro and the TRD off-road premium. Although they are very similar, I think there is a clear winner!

    Regardless what dampers and springs are used, I'd never want to be without KDSS. Deleting FDSS on the Pro was just a cost savings to try and get back some of the money spent on the Fox dampers. Not to mention all the other adjustments you have to do to your truck just so that everything wears out evenly.

      Lol, that's only true for the casual two tracker. As soon as someone wants to do moderate or greater trails the first thing that has to go is the KDSS. The Pro with Fox suspension is far superior for the latter. Google is your friend ;)

      KDSS is an option. you can get it without this. And then add Bilstein 5100 for the leveling.

      @@everydaybettereverydaystronger I do agree with this as a daily driver and for on-road. But if one wants to correct the front end being lower and level it, swapping in four Bilstein 5100's can be a very nice thing and save money over KDSS, still get nice handling. And the repair cost of the KDSS system down the road when the system has issues might also be a factor. Lexus has used it for years, most are good, but when they failed it was quite pricey. Just the same, it's good for folks to realize they can get a 4Runner with or without the KDSS, so they can research it and make up their own mind either way. I do agree on-road handling is impressive with it.

      @ShogunateDaimyo Před 3 lety

      @@g.fortin3228 that is the conclusion I came to after researching as well. It's good for road driving but not great for off roading as it limits droop, travel, flex, and ability to upgrade suspension plus the potential cost for repair if it fails. What i decided is not to make it a factor in vehicle purchase because it's fine either way.

    • @g.fortin3228
      @g.fortin3228 Před 3 lety +1

      @@ShogunateDaimyo Yes indeed. I researched repair costs too. Not frequent but not uncommon, the module repair and setting it up after repair usually has to be done at a lexus dealer because a lot of Toyota dealers dont have the special tools. Lexus had sold more vehicle numbers with it and are equipped but expensive. I have not purchased my 4runner yet.. hopefully by end of summer. So watching the trends meanwhile. No KDSS in my future. I'll replace the stock shocks with Bilsteins.

    I am confused TRD off road vs TRD PRO. so the Pro has tires and front bumper and fox suspension and the badges for 10k more I dont think i want to pay that. maybe for the tacoma trd pro i would i was in the market for a rav4 xse or limited but the 4runner is calling me i think more i wanted the rav4 to save gas buy them hybred suck at towing and offroading im not doing crazy off road just camping and light off roading i dont want to mess up my car its going to be my first new car. i wish they would redesign the 4runner its outdate like a MF
