- When I set out to make this movie I didn't realise how in depth it would become, but considering most windsurf boards have 48 different footstrap options, it's no wonder I have gone into such detail with The Theory Of Everything- how and why to use footstraps to improve many different aspects of windsurfing from beginner windsurfer to expert windsurfer.
If you learn from this movie please kindly make a Paypal donation to me intuition@guycribb.com perhaps the amount of one or two footstraps? (20-50 Euros) Due to C-19 travel restrictions I am unable to create income through INtuition coaching trips around the world, THANK YOU!!!!
This movies splits footstraps into IN or OUT, SPREAD, SIZE, BACK or FORWARDS, and coaches you using INtuition's atomic TUNING, TACTICS and TECHNIQUE. At the end of the movie there is a CRIBB SHEET for you to print out and DETAILS DARLING all about the straps.
Technique includes how to jump, how to get into footstraps, how to windsurf faster, windsurf freestyle, how to hydrofoil windsurf and pump windfoil, how to windsurf upwind, freeride, accelerate faster, learn how to sail in chop, how to adjust and tune your footstraps, how to improve wave riding, wave sailing, hydrofoil windsurfing, get windsurfing better on a freestyle waveboard, planing carve gybes, the best windsurf coaching...
All drone film by Guy Cribb videoing his IN2 guests in Bonaire, Brazil, Greece, Hawaii, Australia, Ireland and UK from recent windsurfing coaching courses.
Please share this movie with your friends and subscribe. With the travel restrictions I am going to make more how to windsurf tutorials, if they are financially supported, so please help me!
Please join me in the UK for windsurf, windfoil and surf foiling coaching, or send me your youtube videos for me to analyse and improve your windsurfing- surf@guycribb.com
Many thanks for watching and becoming part of Windsurfing INtuition! - Sport
The best tutorial on straps ever! Very big thanks!
Among all the magazines and videos about windsurf, this one was the most interesting, and the most complete by far. Must watch ! As well as the one about fins.
Nice, fun and helpful video! Thank you Guru !
Great info
Thanks mate fantastic video, I actually learned a lot and really enjoyable to watch!
Outstanding guide, thanks
Thanks to your style I could watch your clips again, again and again 😉 There are plenty of options with no wind and then it’s nice to discover sth new in your packed video. Thanks a lot for your coaching 👌

Wow. This is pretty spot on stuff. How did I miss your channel until now?
Really great video Guy - the devil is in the editing details and we loved your finished product. It's truly an art form. Had a fantastic time in Bonaire and look forward to riding with you again my friend!
yeeeaaahhh!!!
Excelente!!!
Nice video! Keep posting!
Thanks very useful
Always something new to learn !
:)
Cool, thanks
Fantastic video Guy, lots of great advice packed in there, will use this today to get my board setup
We are allowed back on the water officially from next week in Rush, Ireland. Have sent some dinero as well, well worth it imo.
many thanks! glad you enjoyed!
great tips !
Wow, amazing tutorial. If you're looking for ideas for new videos, you could consider making one on harness lines. For me the 1/3 rule still doesn't work as I am too much of a beginner, and I am never sure how I should position the lines. Thanks so much, and keep up the awesome work 😜
thanks very useful
excellent !!!
Great vid and packed with info. Thank you! I do get your comment about not wearing boots, but we sail at Grimwith Reservoir - 8 months of the year it's too cold! LOL
Here is another small video perhaps boots versus bare feet.
Bare feet for dedication boots for protection.
Thanks for the tips Guy! You surely have a buzy lawn ;)
Great job! it looks a bit old school (at the beginning I thought it's a recording from early 2000 ;) ) but finally nice to watch. A bit too much repeats but... valuable knowledge never enough! Cheers!
hahaha hey those shades are back! Glad you enjoyed, cheers, G
Thanks Guy for the great video! any hint about avoiding injuries? I m about to learn wave sailing and digging the feet so deep in a big footstrap is scary as hell :)
I love the look of your garden ! :)
you should see the museum...
Great video!
thank you!
Woa. Nice video.
Fuppin' awesomely helpful.
Will send you some dollar.
The edit must have taken you ages.
Great style.
Yes the edit took way too long! But Lockdown was useful for that! Now I've started something though, feel like I've got to carry on! But it's sunny in UK so foiling every day! Many thanks for your support! G
man thanks alot .very helpfull
Cool, pleased to find a way to share my knowledge outside of IN2
How's you channel so small?
Learned A LOT

I have not seen this info before thanks v useful
Nice video R.B Montrteal, Qc. Canada
epic video
Great edit Guy original as always
Tristan get on the foil!!!!!!! they are big enough even for you!
i guess this is how surfers feets look like ^^
Bravo bravo
In foil we trust!
@guy cribb the hydrofoil and race hydrofoil positions look the same in the video, I have an iqfoil kit and I am wondering if the recommended positions from starboard change much as you gain confidence to go faster
Thanks!
What about gybing ?? I thought inboard f/straops helpe here?? Surely with the gybing foot that far outboard it is more difficult to bring it out and place it quickly where it needs to be ?thanks for the tips btw.Guy.
Thanks Guy! Did you get anything?
I like to get to my back foot-strap first then hook in and then into the front foot-strap. Just works for me best.
Well, if you could learn to do it the other way around you'll improve your sailing a lot. Just because you think it works best for you doesn't mean that it's best for you. Bottom line: do as he says in the video, and you'll be ok.
Seriously good video, fun and educational at the same time. Personal preference: in post prod you may want to avoid the constant music cuts and the speech over-editing. Great content though thanks a lot for these!
Many thanks for the feedback- I am trying to get used to production, it's not easy, so all feedback very welcomed!
Lets uniform everything and everybody! Kill the spirit! Kill the music!
Yohw DUDE!!!! Were did you record the amazing spot with all those windsurfers…… Were looking for a place to move to with a great windsurfing scene, and that's just the right place to stay, so looks like it……. Such as time 4.29-4.32min
Please reply on my reaction…….
I do love the video with the great explanation about the footstraps….
The clips at 4.29 are from Bonaire, and next clip Prasonisi in Greece, two of the very best windsurfing locations in the world. When travel resumes, let me show you around!
i hit your 1k MARK \o/
super but disagree slighlty when it comes to jumping with small boards, I think the straps should be tight so your foot is really locked in by lifting your toes but nevertheless you can bail out quickly by pulling back.
I like your videos. Could you explain the pumping technic for windfoiling? At the moment i try to learn how to windfoil. I've tried to but it don't really work. Thank you.
Check this out: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Foiling/-video--Lightwind-pumping-techniques?page=1#13
Hi everyone- thanks for the question- IF you are already good at windsurfing pumping then with every pump you generate power in the sail AND mast foot pressure. So when you use that technique foiling it can get you moving forwards well, but that mast foot pressure is preventing the board from rising. If this is the case, then with both feet in the footstraps, once you have basic forward speed by pumping the sail, turn your attention to pumping the board, literally bouncing it up and down like bunny hopping a bicycle. There's much more to it than that, but if you're already good at pumping a sail, the thing to focus on now is pumping the board. It is also worth trying to use an underhand front grip as this promotes lifting not pushing down on the mast foot- note this tip is purely for wind foiling in this situation- plus the underhand grip will let you rake the sail back, that also reduces mast foot pressure to allow the nose to rise. So- continue with your windsurf pumping, but try and underhand grip. Once you have some forward speed, change your attention to bouncing the board. Obviously I could go into way more detail if you send me a video for INvip!

@@guycribb7167 Thank you very much for your help. I hope this informations will help me next time on water. Maybe this could be a interesting theme for a video. There are so much videos which explain jibes, waterstart, beachstart etc. But there are no good videos to learn how to get planing early (windsurf and windfoil). I think this could be very interesting. Greatings from Germany.
@@Frozenguy1 thats the best video i've seen about pumping a windfoil ever. Thank you. I hope the informations will help. Greatings from Germany.
28:10 And when there are really sharp oysters ? Are wetsuit boots useful or it's better to bleed all the session ?
I'm joking, very good video !
haha oysters are no match for my feet!
@@guycribb7167 I do wear booties all summer long both because of the broken shells but also to protect my toes, I seem to break one almost every year and the booties give some protection.
Foil technique vid?
✌️
Dude! Get rid of that nail fungus! Hahahahahaha!
PLEASE be careful not to eventually wear out your those footstrap dowels when using a powerdril to fasten the screws. Always make sure the screw is correctly in an existing thread instead of cutting a new one!
good point! set drill power to 70%
Make your e-mail easier to copy and paste so we can pay you.
Those feet have had a hard life.
Not a single day in the office until lockdown haha
Awesome video!! go get that toe checked out!!! that looks infected!!!!!!!!
I've been infected all my life!
Great, very great! 👍🏻🧜🏼♂️
