Our politicians are completely out of touch with their constituents. Sure, when they are running for office they promise to honor their constituents wishes, they make promise after promise and then when they finally get elected (or reelected) they are business as usual in Washington DC. Politicians enriching themselves off the backs of the taxpayers was *NOT* the founders intention. Nor was anyone supposed to make a career out of serving the public. Public service was supposed to be a hardship and a sacrifice. Politicians should make no more than the median average income while serving in office. Accepting gifts, making book deals, playing the stock market, catering to lobbyists and enriching yourself beyond your station should be illegal for anyone serving in the public sector.

The elites you are referring to are a fraction of that. Likewise, if we were to tax every billionaire at 100% we would have enough money to run the federal government as it currently exists for about 8 months. No matter who gets taxed at what rate, the government seems intent on destroying our economy. However much money we give them, they'll spend more. Not to mention we're in a $30 trillion deficit. Everyone born today is already $78k in debt. We can't fix anything by throwing more money at the government

I love Rand Paul. I don't know about most of ya'll but I worked all my adult life until retirement as an RN. I can barely afford groceries on my retirement now. We need to stop sending money to other countries while our borders are not protected, Americans are on the streets, the drug problem is turning Americans into the walking dead, crime is insane our education system is not good, our children are not safe in schools and our Veterens deserve better treatment. Take care of America, build the best military defense in the world and mind our own business.
