- Cameron Jones, an organizer with Jewish Voice for Peace at Columbia University, says Jewish students have been deeply involved with pro-Palestine protests since October and that anti-Zionism is not the same as antisemitism.
I live in Israel.
I know dozens of Jewish Israeli people who have spent decades actively protesting the brutal actions of the Israeli state.
I know a lot of Jewish Israeli kids who refuse to serve in the IDF.
Protest against the actions of the Israeli state is, categorically, valid and is, definitively, NOT antisemitic.
& they DEFINITELY don't really believe deep down that they are "the chosen people" either! 😶
I wonder what my grandfather would think about the decades long massacres perpetrated by the people he saved from the death camps... the nazi death camps under threat of being annihilated himself incl his entire family.

Israel does not speak for all the jews or even a majority of them, to say it does is actually antisemitism. You can believe that Israel is above all laws and that Israelis are above all other people all you want. It isn't true.
Israel is losing what it has worked to maintain for decades. The younger generations do not worship Israel like the boomers and Gen Xers do/did. The Holocaust was a LONG time ago, and the younger generations are far more pragmatic. Israels era of using the Holocaust as a sword and shield don't work on them.
Yes the holocaust happened, it was tragic and we need to make sure nothing like it happens to anyone and I do mean ANYONE ever again.
But you claiming "But the holocaust" after you just murdered a child doesn't get you a pass anymore. The younger generation is looking at what YOU are doing, not what was done eighty years ago. Just because something bad happened to you 80 years ago does not give you a "Free Genocide" card to cash in.
And no many jews are not Zionists. Zionism is a political belief separate from Jewish religious belief. You might see them as the same, but they are not. Just as Evangelical Christians might see Conservatism and Christiniaty as the same, when they are not.
I have to ask you a question. How does a population that makes up 40% of the people in the region, make a country that is ONLY for them or at least MAJORITY for them without violence? Because I don't see a way for it to happen, and it was not designed to be non-violent. Israel's allies (the Allies) said "This is their land now, now leave" which was just plain old stealing of land, the native americans must have felt a disturbance in the force that day.
The war of 1948 was obviously going to happen, not a single muslim was consulted on the 1947 plan, the plan required people to up and leave 60% of their own land.
If next month 2.8 Million Christians moved into Israel tomorrow and said "We are taking 60% of the land to make our own Christian Only nation" I am pretty certain Israelis would fucking lose it, wouldn't they? They would be mighty pissed wouldn't they? They would go to war over it wouldn't they? Well thats what happened with the Palestinians. Whats more idiotic is that 700-800K people did what we tell civilians to do today, to leave the area while there is a conflict. They did and were then kicked out of the land permanently by Israel claiming they where terrorists. Then they imprisoned the Arabs still left in the region they stole and kept them under military watch till the 1969 war. So for 21 years those arabs were literally treated like criminals.
Now imagine the Americans did that too Israelis, stole the land using superior military forces (lets be clear if America wanted to take Israel it wouldn't be a long fight) and took millions of Israelis and put them in what amounts to Internment camps, you would be upset wouldn't you?
From what I have seen is that Israelis lack history classes that do not just keep pretending they are the victims, and the human ability called empathy.
It's totally true. When i was a teenager i was antisioniste. Now, since 7 of october and the reaction of the world, i realized, as a french that indeed, i love my country (France) but it's not safe for us anymore. And i will always be able to flee my country for the eretz of Israel.

Palestinians don't hate jewish people. Hell many of the aid workers and outreach people who have done the most for them over the decades have been jewish. They hate Israel because Israel is a terrorist state.
Israel in every armed conflict they have ever had has gone for Civilians over military. In 2014 they had a 69% civilian casualty rate with 1400 civilians killed which Israel is the one who released those numbers.
Also Palestinians are ethnically more jewish than any Israeli, because they are direct descendants of the Israelites. Their families never left the region. Their only "Crime" is that in the 700 and 800s their families converted to Islam. So tell me this, why do you think being a religion makes it ok to mass slaughter civilians?

Their constitutional rights mean they may speak. They may not take over and damage buildings, take janitors hostage, or put up tents where they are trespassing. They may not threaten Jewish students who just want to go to class or take exams. Calling for death to Jews or death to America is iffy because their constitutional rights stop when they endanger others. This student may be anti-Zionist, but many others are anti-Semitic as is Hamas which is an elected group by the Palestinians.
