Paddington, most popularly linked with the friendly bear, is an excellent base for visiting London, because of its great transport links and many cool spots within striking distance. You can find many garden squares and elegant residential houses; there’s a lot of old money in Paddington, with older mansions and homes belonging to the same families for a long time.

Dear Wanderizm, you have brought tears to my eyes as I remember those first visits to London from my home in Wales. This was the first experience of the Capital as we arrived in Paddington.
On one memorable visit I was to receive my MBE from HM Queen (1994) and we stayed at Brunel’s Great Western Hotel , long before it became the Hilton. We have since thoroughly enjoyed the area.

Really enjoyed this one! I love the bus rides but really enjoyed the walk, being able to take more time to look around at the buildings, the mews, residences, and businesses. This was a lot of fun! Thanks! 😃 Loved the Paddington Bear in that window 😊

We love that walk. We stay near Queensway when we visit London and walk up Praed St to Paddington Station.

Great new opening loved it. Love walking around the Paddington area we stayed at the Royal Lancaster twice and have walked all around this area and still see things we missed. We have walked by that nice Italian restaurant that see coming out of muse we keep saying we should go in and try but sadly not yet. Thanks for the great walk. Chris and Sandra of Canada.

It is so lovely. Never it would cross my mind to even feel bothered walking for hours if this is the kind of environment I am actually looking at.🙂❤️🇬🇧 (Sorry but I just have to say this, the man sat on a ground resting against a garbage bin holding a cup at 35:38, it breaks my heart seeing any person in this situation😔) But yes this London area is amazing, each time you turn it’s like taking you to a another different wonderful place. 🙂❤️ and at 42:00, 😂 you’ll be fooled to think twice that a man is inside this big clock doing his job drawing the hour and minute hand all throughout the day or week or month or year! 😂 clever and love your videos. 🙂❤️
There would be no reason for the guy to be begging there is a terrible shortage of people in London, the hotel I stay in is working with only 6 people where 25 are needed. All he has to do is get off his ass and go get a job.

I was born in St Mary's Hospital and lived in Paddinton most of my early life. Where was Paddington Green? Paddington Police Station (Famous for 'Blue Lamp' film), The Paddington Bason (Little Venice).? No where.

Thanks for this lovely walk-around. I spent a week+ in that area few years ago, and I was surprised that you did not include the amazing ethnic texture of the neighborhood (my hotel was just around the corner from an Islamic Prayer Center!). Also missing is a walk-through the wonderful Norfolk Square Park, where I enjoyed relaxing many an afternoon after sightseeing around the city. But your video still brought back many memories of my wonderful "residency" in Paddington!!
