I pre-ordered one in "gray".
So looking forward to when it finally arrives.
As of May 15 OpticsPlanet.com has these for $102, free shipping. They also show one in OD Green but doesn't appear to be in stock yet. Had to get one. This is a cool setup for the price.
Thank you for the video! I bought a 10/22 takedown as my first rifle and am currently in my waiting period. The gunsmith shop quoted a hundred dollars for installing the stock and optic! I almost laughed at him! Instead I am going to use the knowledge from your video to install the stock myself, and use the opportunity to practice my other research on the inner workings of my rifle!
TL;DR: Thanks for the video! This will help me with my own installation!
Find a new 'Gunsmith'. What a joke. You should ask him if he's serious and make sure not to ever go there again..
They didn't put M-Lok on the bottom because if you have anything under the forend, you wouldn't be able to insert it into the stock! Great engineering went into that for sure!
Inside the grip portion there is a waterproof compartment that you can put some fire starter, baggie of ammo, or a pocket knife in.
Very cool set up!!! I just ordered mine. can you please measure the overall length when it's collapsed. I'm trying to find a small backpack or bag and don't want it to big. Thanks for the video.
I also have some eye thing going on (detached retina) and the red dot scope looks like a winner, to me....but could you use this as a home defense weapon, during the 1960's riots my Dad was a gunsmith and he sold many 22 hand guns for home defense, just saying
I like the compartment on the stock, a lot of people don't know this, but,
You can put your weed in there.
Genius
Classic rob schneider
Holy shit !
That's where I left it !
Good review. Now I just need to get a 10/22 TD and go from there.
Make another video with it using the suppressor show how it runs and accuracy with the barrel and what not
I didn't measure weight before and after but the new stock is lighter for sure.
Is there any practical benefit to that factory bull barrel compared to the thinner barrels on cheaper 10/22s?
Did you find a solution for the bipod mount? Thx
any idea on the over all length of the stock? cheers
Great video.
Nice setup.
Was the barrel stock or did you have to purchase it separately?
im so jealous i ordered mine from brownells. I chose the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Red Dot Sight for the optic and until the remove a suppressors from the class 3 list i will pass on that ( extra 200 bucks on already over priced cans really pisses me off) end of rant. Great review thanks!
Kevin Thomas I'm ok with the 200 tax right now. If they remove it now, every jo blow will have one and you will have idiots with the "Jason bourne" complex committing crimes or murders thinking they will get away with it from the "silence" . Then the media groups all silencers and their owners as evil and then the next administration prohibits them for good. they are not protected by the 2nd amendment... there is my rant
Kameron A what makes them not protected by the second amendment?
Where did you get the torque screwdriver?
Hi Cameron, where did u get a takedown reciever? I was hoping to buy a reciever, a magpul stock, and a tactical solutions barrel, rather then have to purchase a whole takedown 10/22 and throw everything away except the reciever. Is this possible? Can't seem to find a takedown reciever alone to build my own rifle from.
2weelz4me1 gunbroker.com. a seller: yoda111 normally keeps them in stock. tell him I sent you!
2weelz4me1 any luck, did you find the guy?
2weelz4me1 k>hin0] gk0 humkiklkl) hummus zzz jji gunt. Gun olklgun tlz
Damn you hahah, I was really hoping to get mine this week. Did you order from Magpul direct ? I pre ordered from Optics planet, Said i should have it next week.
Hey whats the length of the back end, trying to buy a bag it will fit in . Thanks for the look!
ZRUS Outdoors Channel yessir, saw that magpul had finally started shipping and ordered the 1st day
good video! idk how you did the whole video on your knees i would of died! 😂
If you could, can you measure the length of the handguard? Just want to make sure a charger barrel is long enough to clear it.
5.75in
Thanks!
Kameron A 😁 your thinking what I'm thinking hehee👍SBR
Cool gun! How much did the weight change?
What’s the backpack in the thumbnail?
Great video! Now i need to have one. lol
Nice rig, just wondering why you are using a Booster on the Can. Those are normally meant for Browning action (Tilting Barrel) Pistols. I guess it won't hurt anything. I assume it's because you don't have a straight 1/2x28 Thread adapter. Good job on the Vid.
Unapologetic yessir, you got it
Does anyone know if you can mount a light on this stock somehow? Perhaps attach a rail somewhere?
Thanks for a nice review!
/Niklas
Niklas Magnusson I can't figure out a spot unless you buy the site mount for the foregrip and mount it up top... horrible placement
sorry for the low volume, forgot to change the waterproof case on my gopro
At least now we know your camera stayed dry during this review👍🏻
No need for a bipod on that puppy. Super light and it's a .22. You're good to go my friend! Can't wait to pick up this stock. Also, thanks for doing this vid! Was waiting for someone to post one like this
It's a Backpack stock so putting on a Bipod makes no sense, its just extra weight you really don't need.
If you could check it out for me but is this the gun three selling on amazon or is amazon just selling the stock for $335
its just the stock for about $95.
Muito top linda arma meu sonho essa 22
Is the length of pull the same as the OEM stock? Thanks for the video.
good question, I can't tell a difference
Kameron A What is the length anyway?
ok silly question, but is this gun only for those who already own a ruger, then buy the stock and then attach a barrel to it? the ruger one that is...please can someone explain, cuz i am confused thinking that the whole gun can cost $100 bucks....Thanks
Paister03 just the stock for $100. You must buy any version of the ruger 10/22 takedown separately
Thanks Alot for the clarification. Going to look into it. Looks like a cool gun to have...
Hey man can the rail fit a eotech red dot plus magnifier on the rail?
MockingJ not the stock rail
Kameron A what rail would you recommend sir?
Preço da arma $:?
Can't wait to use one of these with a Charger based build!
Pesky SBR paperwork. =(
dude, I request you video it with both barrels on it! & will it function with a barrel installed while one is in stow`?
robert h I dont have an extra
can you fit the suppressor in the back check weld stock section?
The Downtrodden mine won't, maybe with a true .22 can. one of the dividers is fixed but if you were to cut it out the length and width is roughly 1 3/8 x 5 3/8
Kameron A it would be worth cutting it out to make it a nice little package or I could go the other route and just SBR my charger that way I could just leave the suppressor on it and it won't add extra length
The Downtrodden if you have a compact suppressor, definitely ! it's also not crazy long just to leave it threaded.
Kameron A there are few semi-auto rounds that are subsonic out of my charger that aren't subsonic out of my rifle so it might be a win-win situation
Have you figured out a way to mount a bipod yet?
Steve H. no luck yet
Have you tried something like this?
www.amazon.com/UTG-Clamp-Bipod-Steel-Feet/dp/B017DB25AQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1496541928&sr=1-1&keywords=utg+barrel+mount+bipod
Fairly inexpensive if it doesn't work out. It should work as long as you don't have a "floating barrel", which you shouldn't.
There has to be a way. I got a response from Magpul that it isn't possible, but if you look at the assembly once the stock is together (broken down), you can see they arranged for an open area or recession where some kind of mount could sit and have the clearance when the unit is closed....
Wrong stock to be mounting a bipod.
This is meant to be very simple and streamlined.
The X22 hunter has all the mlock and Percision gun stuff.
I have that on my scoped bull barrel gun and the backpacker on my light weight squirrel gun.
What would it cost to have this exact same setup? Do you have a list of each item/price?
Shaine I got a ton of deals so I'm in it for under $500. full retail I would estimate 750-800. Not including the can
ruger 10/22 target
magpul stock
warn qd rings
Nikon 22 scope
So thats a factory barrel? I have the regular takedown so my barrel isnt threaded. I want to get the magpul stock, threaded barrel and can (once the law passes hopefully)
Shaine the law won't ever pass, go ahead and get the paperwork started. you don't want it to pass... it will set a precedent for dramatic change. once the left gets in office they will be able to ban suppressors all together. Not protected by the 2nd amendment
Did you figure out how to mount bipod?
charlieRobinson nope
are you still using this stock with your 10-22? or are you using something different now?
charlieRobinson still using it. It's awesome to be able to throw it in my pack
A bipod would not work even if it had mount. It wouldnt work as a backpacker because it clicks into stock if you want bipod, buy hunter stock not backpack stock
I think your missing the point of that stock if your worried about not having a place for your bipod. You should have got the X22 hunter takedown model instead.
Waow,,, dimana saya bisa membeli itu
like it. is good.
pre%%y work!
this is a sock setup man
I know that my hearing isn’t what it used to be but I can hardly hear what is being said.
you're damaging your nice takedown every time you assemble or disassemble without the bolt locked back, that's in the manual. not good for the extractor.
Really Happenings man, thanks for pointing that out! feels like a rookie move
Kameron A I've done it a few times too, not exactly the end of the world but not a good habit to form. I ended up adding a Volquartsen extractor and firing pin, best upgrades for reliability imho.
haschak sisters
how sick would it look with 2 barrels on it... like~ one barrel from a 10/22 Charger & the original in storage position ... a double barrel 10/22, `cuz who doesn't need more option when the SHTF!!
Gun toll
Great video.
thanks, pretty sweet stock! Have the hunter 700 for my .308 and love it too
