    Nice rig! I did something similar with my 1022 backpacker (no suppressors here in Cali though). I used a Tac Sol X-Ring bull barrel with fiber optic sights, MagPul forward optic mount, Sig Romeo 5, Ruger extended mag release Looks like your Timney) Ruger BX trigger, polished sear etc, w/Kidd mag plunger, Kidd Bolt assembly, Kidd Bolt release, Kidd Bolt Buffer. Shoots very well, more accurate than my stock barrel and at least a pound and a half lighter. I also kept my stock barrel and got another Back Packer forend. Good times. A lot of that noise you are hearing is your bolt slamming back into your stock steel buffer pin, an easy fix. Cheers

    I just purchased the 10/22 take down Davidson I installed the Volquartsen Hammer kit, Bolt release , Disconnector, and Sear, Tandemkross extended charging handle, Kidd extractor, magazine plunger, and extended magazine release handle, plus a Bushnell TR-25. Now it’s perfect for me.

      @@TheBulletPoints thank you, yes it is.
      I was thinking about getting the complete trigger housing but there is nothing better than doing it yourself.
      I had the same set-up just a several months ago and once my nephew tried it out I saw the smile on his face and I let him keep it.
      It took me almost a complete year to find a 10/22 take-down.

    Why didn’t you buy the takedown carbine instead of heavy barrel?

    • @TheBulletPoints
      @TheBulletPoints  Před 4 lety +2

      I bought it used, so didn't have much choice. Good call though.
      If I had bought it new, I definitely would have gone with the carbine.

    Would you also recommend changing the scope mount?

    • @TheBulletPoints
      @TheBulletPoints  Před 3 lety

      It's really up to how much "precision" shooting you'll be doing. The standard scope mount is fine, but if you want to get fancy, the world is your oyster!

    Is it ok to dry fire a 10/22 ( i know that on newer rimfire rifles the firinf pin doesn't hit the harden steel dimple) but still?

    • @TheBulletPoints
      @TheBulletPoints  Před 2 lety +1

      Technically, it's not 'good' for it, but I'm pretty hard on my equipment and generally push things to their limits.
      If it's a once in a while thing, you're fine.

      The receiver and most internals are original. Stock, trigger, mag release, barrel and optics were added on. It shoots like a whole new gun, because it mostly is! Haha!

      @@TheBulletPoints this is what I'm building. Any changes since you made the video? I've not purchased anything yet which is why I'm asking! Great video !

    • @TheBulletPoints
      @TheBulletPoints  Před 4 lety

      @@kee7678 I'm waiting on a different Suppressor/Barrel to come in. It's the Tactical Solutions intergrally suppressed barrel with fiber optic sights. I wanted to change it up a bit and rather than having the Vortex that requires batteries and adds weight, I wanted to have an iron sight style of barrel and TacSol is the only one I found that has integrated sights.
      Not sure how it shoots yet, as I'm STILL in ATF purgatory (7 months), but when I get it, I'll be doing a reshoot with the new barrel.
      I'm looking for retained or improved accuracy, retained or improved sound suppression, overall reduction in weight and general usability (not requiring batteries, sighting it in, etc.).
      If the new barrel can check most or all of those boxes, then I'll remove the Vortex and save some weight. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing on this gun. It's absolutely badass and everyone that shoots it wants to buy/build one just like it.
      Good luck with your build!
