I know you are not used with BMW stuff ... but when you change the battery you have to register / code it in ?!

ps: regarding the audio ... if you had fiber optic audio in the car you have to transfer the plug from the old "quadlock" to the new "quadlock" ....
ps2: the factory radio looks like that because you have to code it the new screen ( the resolution is much better now and the car doesn.t know that )

You may need the GPS module to get carplay navigation to work properly. Some aftermarket units piggybacks off the internal GPS signal instead of the phone. I was going crazy wondering why my current location would freeze or being stupid inaccurate.

You’re supposed to code the car to the new battery. The one that came out definitely wasn’t OEM so it probably wasn’t coded properly for it either.
I use BimmerCode and an MHD orange dongle, but I think you can use INPA.
Carly also has this feature for most BMW's. Its more user friendly then INPA.
It's called register and coding the battery. This is why... BMW designed the charging system with an algorithm that varies the rate of charge by the age and type of the battery installed. Registering a new battery resets the algorithm back to optimal charging voltage for the specified battery.
Can only use inpa if installing the same battery capacity and type as is already coded to the car.
If battery capacity and or battery type is different then the New battery must be coded to the car using NCS expert or other software with coding capability.
Battery charging histogram must also be reset.
Car will work without doing any of the above but the battery will not be charged at the correct rate and so it’s life will be reduced.

Devin, to change the display go into the units settings/factory (input the code from the manual)/ car (vehicle) and change the display size. Yours looks like a CCC model idrive. Choose one to match the new display size. I've just installed a similar unit in my X6. Only problem i'm having is my bluetooth keeps disconnecting. Haven't solved that yet :(

Changing your phone's Bluetooth pair code usually solves this. If it's set to 1234 change to 0000 or vice versa
you should look into a brembo kit for the s2000 if you wanna go fast. you can get the brembos off an acura TL-S and put them on prety cheap. a good powder coat on them would be sick too!!

You can run the aux from behind the head unit, but you need to disable the arm rest aux and activate behind head unit aux

If the car has an inbuilt amp you need to connect the blue wires together.
All these videos on youtube but none of them really give you any good info on the unit, is it laggy/glichy. Does the volume work properly with the unit, does it over hear and freeze.
All they talk about is the installation process and where to buy it.

My ( E90 ) 3 series came with a CCC from Factory, the screen after 17 years is almost dead, at this time, i see there are so many choices out there, if this the current best choice right now, any suggestions please ?
I like the dasaita brand android radio. I have the rotatable 10" in my 2011 legacy gt. Works great, built in dsp for better sound, nice display, and android apps for wave, Google maps, pandora, Spotify, etc. I Hotspot for connectivity. JOYING brands.boots.up super fast compared to dasaita, but.i don't recommend Joying if you have an amplified subwoofer because it doesn't have subwoofer rca presets and a y splitter won't work with it.

Hi, thanks for the video, great job like always. Question, were you able to get a hold of the provider regarding display zooming. I bought a unit and having the same issue as well.
I figured this out. Just did my install today. You can go into the "factory settings" you will need to know the password. Mine was a wakaa unit and it was 1368. Then i chose the 8.8 display for the e60 and it looks perfect now. Other codes ive seen are 1314 and to try 0000 and 1234 if those dont work.

I recently installed my new CarPlay system for my e90 as well. After full installation and making sure everything is fit and working, I’m not getting any sound. I made sure I swapped out the fiber optic cables and everything else but still no sound. Any suggestions?

he put a jumper on the car to be able to unlock the trunk hence why he connected it in the engine bay

Surely you don’t have to run all audio through an aux cable. Aux sounds poop.
