- Welcome to this walking tour of Luton Town Centre! In this video, I’ll take you on a journey through the bustling streets of this vibrant town in Bedfordshire, England.
We'll start our walk in the heart of Luton at High Town Road to St. George's Square, where we'll take in the sights and sounds of the town centre. From there, we'll make our way down the pedestrianized High Street, where we'll see a mix of high street shops, local boutiques, and eateries.
As we continue our walk, we'll explore the historic architecture of the town, including the striking town hall building and the Luton Library. We'll also pass by the famous hat sculpture district, a nod to the town's hat-making heritage.
We'll then venture into The Mall, an indoor shopping centre with a wide variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants. We'll show you around some of the highlights of the shopping centre.
There are some other sites in Luton, including the Luton Market, a bustling market that's been a staple of the town for over 800 years. We'll take in the sights and sounds of the market, and show you some of the fantastic food and produce that's on offer.
Also visitors can take a walk in Wardown Park, a picturesque green space with a boating lake and plenty of walking paths. We'll show you some of the park's highlights, including the impressive Wardown House Museum and Gallery.
Join me as I take you on this walk to explore Luton Town Centre on foot, taking in the town's history, culture, and architecture. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this walk is a fantastic way to experience the best of Luton.

I remember it well, I lived there for the first 11 years of my life and was often sent to High town for shopping. In those days it was very different and we know why.
@@Johnadam684 no, one of the most dangerous areas.
Non western immigration. And its the same problems all over Europe. Just at a smaller scale. And if European leaders dont wake tf up, this will be all of Europe in the future. So not Europe anymore basically. Just sad to see.
Andy please tell us why ? Some don’t know
@@mariumrajah you do know!
@@wft15 I’m still waiting for you to tell me
I had the pleasure of living in Luton 25 years ago when the mall was called the Arndale mall. It was nice back then. Now it looks like a middle eastern country. Wow. 😮
County has lost the plot pal, brutal to watch
Most of UK is like the middle east
9:50 in is The Bricklayer's Arms. This is an island of Englishness in an alien landscape. Its days are surely numbered.
Luton is still great and even better now that Racists like you are leaving. Good riddance
@@The_wolf2885 Ha! It’s routinely voted the worst place in England, but good luck with that. Looks like little Pakistan to me.
I am so glad i left that place in 1977 for Canada, AND try doing that walk at night time see how far you get !!!
The Mall is closed at night... And I've done walks around High Town many times without even the slightest issue?
@@Woodzta whats your race tho ?
I left for Australia mate.Glad im no where near Lutonastan anymore.
The town is a sh it hole.
9:50 in is The Bricklayer's Arms. It's an island of Englishness in an alien landscape. I can't see it surviving more than a few years.
Lutonistan
9:31 ,place on corner, used to be a massive toy warehouse, in the 80's . There used to be old 1930's underground public toilets, on that junction by the railway tavern.
Such a pleasure to travel with you. Always an important time in my day when I am watching your video. : )
Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated.
I was born in Luton. After my mother passed away in 1964 aged 33 yrs, my father decided to start a new life for myself and my two brothers and we left for Australia in 1966. My grandmother Nanna Thorn lived at 2 Jubilee Street and had a little corner store. My uncles Peter and Terry Thorn had a business Thorn Plumbing. My great grandfather Private Boskit has his name on the war memorial outside the town hall. He was killed in action in Flanders in WW 1. He is buried in France with an unknown soldier in his grave with him. I am so sad to see what Luton has become. One of my sons travelled to London with his partner in 2019 and I said he should visit Luton. Friends in London told him, you just drive through Luton, you do not stop there anymore. So sad. Just where near we lived was a little shopping centre with a supermarket, a butcher, green grocer and an Italian barber. He would give my brothers short back and sides. He would put a plank of wood on the chair arms for me to sit on so he could give me the same haircut! I just wanted to be like my brothers😄
after living in luton for 50 years i moved to the coast 3 years ago .... nice to see luton again :)
This was my first time visiting Luton
@@TheWalkingCameraChannel what did you think ? :)
What do you think he thought! @@jeannetteellis4926
@@jeannetteellis4926 For me I think Tony Blair did a terrific job in making the place look and feel like a middle east country
I lived in Luton for over 30 years, was always a good place for parties back in the 90s. I moved to Spain around 2003. Cant belive how much luton has changed, especially around the train station.

What part of the UK is Luton town ?
It’s north west of London. About 34 miles from London.
@@TheWalkingCameraChannel thank you

"If you can dream it you must do it" certainly doesn't apply to Luton
Be quiet how dare you slag off the great and noble town of Luton
I was thinking the exact same thing
@@The_wolf2885 LOL!
It used to be a great place to live but unfortunately it looks completely different now
That's a lot of snackbars

So it's not called the arndale centre anymore
It is.
Some people still call it the Arndale, but it’s currently The Mall, but soon to be The Luton Point in 2024
@@Hgames_RBLX The council still have road signs up that state Arndale. 😂
I still call it the Arndale 😅 Im only 27 but my family have only ever called it that. ",the mall" sounds too American

Sorry…I was focused on holding the camera!
It’s disgusting that that an English town can end up like this….where are the indigenous population?
The worst town in the world- Andrew Tate.
