    See now this I like, most of your colleagues go for simple stuff with obscene amounts of hot glue. That's neat to get some clever ideas but seriously, hot glue?
    This is a pretty neat package, well thought out, even with a cool PCB. Thumbs up and subbed.

      No really thank you, been inching my way into CNCs for a few months now to aid with some projects. But before I dole out 2K or something on a machine I want to mess around a bit and get to grips with it all. Something like this helps a lot. If only just to work as a stepping stone in getting from some code in Arduino IDE to a real world application.

      By mechanism he probably meant the writing motor, stepper motors are a little more generic than that.

      Those are not DVD motors, but look like floppy disk (remember those?) motors.

      We need class 3 laser....

    Is that z-axis servo step - the dot - in the beginning part of firmware or is it gcode?
    Wouldn't just setting the servo to 'up' position calibrate the height?

    you could connect a 3d pen (these often cost about 10 to 15$) and make some small changes to the servo code and add some wires and a code to override the button of the pen and you have a small 3d printer

    One question. How do you "translate" the drawing into the data that is understandable to the CNC? As far as i concern, every printer require some sort of rasterising, or a rip programme.
