This video shows how we Meal Prep for the week for working couples, bachelors, students, or stay-at-home parents.
We do meal prepping slight different as we actually prep ingredients and not full meals.
This is a beginner's guide and is most useful for students and people sharing rooms and refrigerators. I am only showing a part of our Meal Prep with the staple veggies that are available everywhere.
Remember, Meal Prepping needs just a little planning and multi-tasking.
We start by roasting peanuts and coriander seeds on a low flame. We use peanuts in our salads, chutneys, and quinoa veggie bowls, to name a few.
While they are roasting, we start chopping our veggies. I pre-wash a few of my veggies like carrots. I wash, peel, and cut them in different sizes as we use them for sambhar, curries, and a few we grate that we use in idlis, and parathas. We do the same for the rest of the veggies, cauliflower, cabbage, beans, and peppers.
Meal prepping is about knowing what you will eat and planning ahead to make the cooking process hassle-free.
We have been practicing this for a while and a few of the reasons are that a) it saves a ton (at least it feels like it), b) less wastage as you do end up cooking more as you have everything ready, c) it does make cooking healthier. Confused? Let's imagine you wanted to eat Maggi which you can cook in 2 minutes (highly impossible). Now adding the pre-cut, stored veggies into your Maggi makes it healthier. Agreed?
In addition to these, my husband, Kartheek takes care of the paratha dough, idli, and dosa batter while I make the pasta sauce.
We made adding more veggies to our daughter's school lunch our goal for this year and so, we make pasta, parathas, and so on.
In my future videos, I will share tips and hacks I follow for keeping your veggies fresh for a longer time. I will also show how we use our meal prep in our weekly cooking, so stay tuned and subscribe to the channel.
I hope you found this video useful and informative. If you did, please like, share, comment, and subscribe to Poornima's Paradise. I will see you soon with another video.
