    You're very blessed to have a husband that supports you in your endeavors. I'm sure you do the same for him. It's great to see a couple with a healthy relationship. To see that it's actually possible to love and be loved by a man in marriage. I see sooooooo many negative comments anymore that I get disgusted with people. It takes two people giving 150% to make it work.
    Your aloe vera plants are gorgeous! I wish I had more room and more sunlight. God will make a way. God bless y'all! 🪴🐝🌺

    I was checking the pipes at my dad's home in New Hampshire to be sure they hadn't frozen when he was wintering in Florida 8 years ago and noticed that he had forgotten his aloe plant on the counter.. her outer leaves were frostbitten, but I took her home in her 6-inch pot, and she recovered just fine.. she's given me hundreds of pups and flowered this winter.. a gorgeous spike of pink bells that lasted for months and is just fading now, but her daughter also flowered a beautiful canopy thats still going strong
    she's too heavy now for me to lift alone

    I can't thank you enough for sharing this helpful information. I've struggled with my Aloe Vera collection for years because they kept growing so leggy and trying to fall out of their pots. Watering and rotating them once a week felt like a chore because they were so imbalanced and hard to deal with, but today I followed the steps in the video and helped five of my Aloe Veras :) It makes me feel so much better to have normal looking aloes in my window and it feels like a new beginning! Thanks a bunch!

    I just rescued 5 plants from a home where the owner passed away but the aloes where ignored for a long time. They were quite purple looking and lots of dead leaves and one very sad leggy plant. I know nothing about growing aloe so this helped me a lot. They’re greening up so I’m hopeful that they’ll survive.

      What fertilizer should I use?

    • @Gods_creation.His_harvest
      @Gods_creation.His_harvest  Před 2 lety +3

      I do not use fertilizer for my Aloe Vera. Just good soil with good drainage.
      You can get regular potting soil from store and add 1/3 sand or
      Make your own with compost, peat moss, and sand.
      I make my own potting soil because I have lots of compost. I use 1/3 compost, 1/3 peat moss, then the other third can be half sand and perlite.

    Went to follow this tutorial, only to realize that my 9-year-old aloe that I've brought with me on 9 moves to 4 different cities had BAD root rot that was climbing up the stem. I cut the rotted parts, tossed all of the soil, and dipped her in rooting hormone before potting her again. Crossing my fingers that trimming as heavily as I had to won't be too much of a shock, but she's a hardy gal. Thank you. Because encouraging me to get her sitting up straight helped me discover a problem that might have killed a very old friend. Please cross your fingers for me that she'll be alright

      How did she do? I'm very curious to know. I bought two really big aloe vera plants at Walmart of all places. I'd NEVER seen them there. Especially such large plants. But now the leaves are getting black spots on there and other crazy stuff. I hope they're not having root rot problems because they were outside at Walmart during alot of rain and it doesn't look like the soil is for succulents. Anyway let me know how yours is doing. I hope thriving and growing beautifully.
      God bless you and yours.! 💐

    Thank you for sharing this video. I wish I could show you my Aloe Vera. It was doing great, It's about 3 feet tall and now wants to tip over. It has a lot of pups and I have been using bamboo sticks to hold it in place as I'm afraid it will break. Your video is great and now I won't be afraid to transplant it along with the pups. Like you, I love Aloe Vera plants and have several in my house. I have transplanted a lot of the pups and given them away to people in our small village. Thanks again. God Bless you and your family.

    • @Gods_creation.His_harvest
      @Gods_creation.His_harvest  Před 24 dny

      You’re welcome I am glad I was helpful to you. You can also just cut the large one off leaving a long enough neck after removing whatever leaves you do not want on there and then replant the mother in a separate pot. Then let the pups grow in the original pot.
      Or you can remove all the pups and mother and repot. You still will have to remove leaves from the mother and if the main stem (neck) is not too long to the bottom where the roots are you may be able to keep roots but you can cut off roots and just replant in damp soil but not to wet. Be sure to leave a good 4-6 inches of main stem. If watched and watered occasionally when dry it should produce new roots.

    I find that it works to cut the roots, then surround the plant with rocks under the soil. This suppports the plant and keeps the pot from tipping. I first found this works with Bromeliads but it would work with Aloe Vera.

    I now hope I'm correct in removing the oldest, bottom leaves rather than it's crown and shorten the stem.

    • @Gods_creation.His_harvest
      @Gods_creation.His_harvest  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, you can pull out whole plant and remove pups to replant elsewhere or add back to pot after you have removed lower leaves and replanted. And yes you may have to cut roots off if too leggy and keep removing leaves until you can have a 3-4” stem and have the plant positioned correctly upright when repotting. Hope that helps ☺️

      Yes, I have replanted my leggy Aloes in bigger pots and the mother plant can get really big and even flower if in the right light. But I have so many now that I prefer to use pots that will not need lots of soil. As I mentioned in the video cutting off root after removing leaves you don’t want and leaving 3 -4 inches of stem and replanting so you can use a medium pot that doesn’t need as much soil. The roots will grow back if cared for properly. God bless

      If your plants get too leggy you can also just cut them off at neck leaving a good stump (removing any dry leaves) and repot. I know it may seem scary to do that but it will make new roots. Just make sure you water as needed but don’t overwater. God bless. 🌸

      @Gods_creation.His_harvest  Před 10 měsíci

      I need to do one where you just cut off the whole root. There were other videos. I think that have shown that but basically all you’re doing is pulling everything out removing the leaves that are undesirable or would make it so that when you want to replant it, it wouldn’t look straight upright. After you’ve done all that you just make sure you leave about 3 to 4 inches of stump and stick it in the dirt so that it’s setting the way you want it and lightly water it if the soil is fairly dry or you can moisten the soil very slightly and stick it in and just keep an ion it and very lightly water occasionally like once a week maybe and it should produce new routes. I have some that I’ve done that with. I need to make a video on it.

      @@Familyadventures727 Thanks, Michelle. If keeping the dried out stem does not allow new roots to grow, then, I shall cut it as recommended. I am afraid once I cut the dried out stem, with no skills, it is hard to say the plant can still survive. ;-)

    • @Familyadventures727
      @Familyadventures727 Před 2 lety

      @@hsun1949 I am not sure what your stem looks like. But just remove the leaves that have dried out as I show on video. Then as you do that you will be creating some new neck (main stem)
      Once you have the plant looking as you like then leave about 3-4 inches of stem past the bottom leaf. That should ensure the opportunity for roots to grow. You can usually see little bumps around stem where the new roots will grow from. You can watch a few of my other videos on aloe to see where I do plant a very long neck with original roots at the end in a small pot by twisting the root around the pot. Of course there is risk of snapping the root but even if that happens you can still replant and new roots will grow. Just be sure that you don’t put in too wet soil. Damp soil that drains well. Adding sand to potting mix can help with that. You will need to give it more attention to be sure it doesn’t stay dry for long periods so roots can grow.

    Thank you ❤️🙏 perfect video and a lil more. My aloes have been going great guns. I haven’t been able to go wrong… until now. I previously used a mix of soil from my garden & top soil which was obs perfect. This time I repotted (in winter uk although they are indoor plants) in a sand, top soil & perlite mix. My large plants look healthy but the leaves are dying quickly from bottom to top so checked and a few have root rot 😫 I think they’re in too much soil and overwatered. I did dry them out for a few days prior to repotting and seems I am doing everything else right which is great news tbh. Your dialog could be me, and made me chuckle. I wanted to know how much stem I could bury as don’t want to cut the roots off this time of year. You’ve answered my questions and giving me a bit more confidence. Thanks so much. I love my healing aloe sooo much haha. I’ve been Making healing balm using candelilla wax, colloidal silver, yarrow salve and coconut oil. It’s brilliant stuff and lasts a few months without any added preservative. You say you vacuum seal yours in the fridge. How long does it last please? I’ve tried everything else and found that all other ways of preserving naturally means a big loss in quality. Thanks again. Xx

      Hello Christine, it does sound like there was an overwatering issue or possibly soil combination is holding water too long. The soil needs to be able to drain well and dry between waterings. Would love your recipe you mentioned. That sounds great! The best way to keep Aloe fresh is to use as needed or when harvesting a lot I have vacuumed sealed and refrigerated but after a few weeks it tends even then to turn pinkish. My go to now is freezing on my feeeze dryer trays and when I have 4 ready they go in freeze dryer. I hope to do a video on that. I have paused making CZcams’s because I have a busy homestead life but I am trying to get back into it again. I hope your Aloes improve. God bless 🌸

    I just saw a video where they propagated an aloe plant from the leaves, like the ones that you broke off!
    The leaf has to have some of the white part still at the bottom.
    He cut the top part of the leaf & allowed it to callous, & put the bottom 3-4 inches of the leaf about a half-inch into the soil. It was planted so shallow, he used a rock to support it.
    2-3 weeks later it grew pups!

      Thank you! Yes, I could do one while watering and talk about how the plants grow in various light & room conditions. I have been very busy and so it has been hard lately to edit my videos 🫤
      As far as fertilizer I do not fertilize. I just plant my aloes in my homemade compost. Which I do discuss in one or more of my other videos.
