Hi, 17 years in the industry here. you mentioned something in relation to emergency driving and situations that we would not use those skills 🤔 arr i have done lights and sirens and attended many emergency situations because amb vic either were unable to resource the case or incorrectly despatched the case, patient transport isn't really patient transport when your company is contracted to amb vic and crews are responding to acute injuries, the name non emergency patient transport is just a lie and front, pay is poor and unfortunately all private amb services operating in Victoria are only interested in profit, not staff. You also mentioned something about learning on the job, which sometimes doesn't really give confidence to your patient, this industry needs to lift its game.

Hi Drew, what suggestions would you make in order for St John to lift its game for both patients and staff. What is the rate of pay? I noticed you said you were in the industry for 17 years - well done that’s a very long time, was there some positive parts you enjoyed that kept you in the industry that long? @@moanabell3550 recently our regulations changed, but the changes were only small, i did ask for alot of change, but unfortunately not one of my suggestions was taken on, unfortunately the government doesn't care about the private ambulance services in Victoria, they just look after the public sector ambos
Main issue ill say to you is the certificate 3 and diploma course delivery is too short, there are also too many companies conducting there own courses and cutting corners. There are so many issues in this sector, but the lack of interest from the government and the companies is the problem.
