I lost count of the times ive watched Andy Powells band and also Martin Turner's It's such a shame that they had to split in two because Wishbone Ash together in my opinion was one of the most underrated bands on the planet.🏴🏴🏴🎸😂🇺🇲😆😁🤠😍🏴
@oscar munoz entrago Man. I've been listening to them for more than 30 years, and they are better than GOOD. the 1972 album ARGUS, of which THIS is the final song, is the GREATEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME to me.
Argus is something very, very special indeed; pure magic and utterly timeless. I thank God that someone made me aware of this work of art so, so many years ago. It just makes the whole thing seem even more precious. Rock on Ash. You are amazing x
They are a brilliant band - bought Argus when I was 16 my brother introduced me to rock music and was a guitarist himself, bought quite a few of their albums. Just loved the sound - awesome!
How does one even begin to appreciate Wishbone. Words for once, one finds, are inadequate in this respect. I can't even begin to explain how their music connects one to something both, at once, absolutely personal and emotional on one hand and transcendental on the other. And this just to speak about the experience of their music not to even mention their musical abilities... Will always be grateful to the day when I first came across their music some twenty years ago... And ever since they have been an essential part of my music experience... Thank you Wishbone
Bought the album in 1973, (Argus- album of the year) blew the windows out of my house !!! Much to the disgust of my neighbours and my wife, haha, the things you do when you're young.
@@marcusliddington2035 I bet I'm older than the lot of you, I'm 80years old this year and still listening to THE MIGHTY WISHBONE ASH..😎✌🎵🎶🎶🎵FROM AUSTRALIA
So glad I discovered these guys, awesome band. I found them because I am a huge fan of Iron Maiden and the founder Steve Harris stated that he wanted a band with twin guitars like Wishbone Ash. This song takes me to another place, especially the dual guitar solo at the end of the album version.
I was brought to Wishbone Ash similarly. Look For The Truth off X Factor = Warrior, totally. Throw Down The Sword has bits of Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Hallowed Be Thy Name and others in there. Of course, Wishbone Ash were first, it's just that I heard Maiden before I heard WA :)
@@PopUpPirate1975 wow, I've never heard "Look for the Truth" because I've blown off those years of Maiden's stuff. I see the similarity in "Warrior" (espicially around the 3:30 mark [on that song not this one]) or just Wishbone Ash's stuff in general.
My Top favorite bands of ALL time, Wish Bone Ash, The Who, Rush, Black Sabbath and Metallica. There are to many GREAT BANDS to name from the 60's, 70's and 80's to speak of. Glad I was around in those days to listen to them all, Plus thanks for this post.
I loved this song when I played my ARGUS album, many years ago, and although this version is not as good, if I had never heard the original I would have still rated this as absolute CLASS. Long live the Flying V.
Its strange really because although I enjoy some modern music such as Bliss, Within Temptation and more, I still go back to the music of the 70's and the fabulous groups, singers, musicians, songs and genuine skill and craft performed by the likes of Ash, Zep, Purple, Genesis, Yes, Stones, Who, Sabbath, America, BJH, Beatles etc etc the list goes on and on and on. Genuinely fabulous times.
RICK HAYLE I think you mean summer of ‘73. The only time they played in Dallas that year was in August. I saw them in May 1973 with Climax Blues Band in a 2800 seat auditorium in Portland Oregon. I was two months shy of my 18th birthday.
Well, that left me with a good feeling! I was able to buy the first few albums when they came out. On a base long since closed from the seventies, in Morocco...1973
Others are right when they say nothing got better than Live Dates...there was something absolutely magic about that album... and the original line up...but this is still pretty good
I saw wishbone ash in January 1974 during their live dates tour in Cedar Rapids Iowa and the dueling guitars was excellent during rock and roll widow half way through people started throwing joints up on stage and Andy said you know we like that and he started lining them up on the drummers platform and there must have been at least a thousand joints lined up it was cool . Except after the show they were at the salty dog saloon witch was the coolest rock and roll est. around with nickel pictures and penny beers . Anyway the cops raided the place after hours and busted the band and the bar owners for possession then went to the bands motel room and found more pot . That sucked these guys were way cool people I was at the salty dog also that night but left at closing. The guys were ordered to shave their heads bald and deported from the uns . That’s how fucked up the system was back then . All I have to say is I remember I Live dates very well great album. And all the members at that time were very cool and it was an honor to party with them. Ed e rocks
+Tim Burr had one , an ´86 , fitted Schaller golden 50´s - a PAF copy to replace the distortion pu´s . Sounded magnificent but sold it - needed the money , an error .
Saw Martin Turner's WA a few years ago and they were superb. Just wish I'd been in Uni when Andy P & Co were doing the college circuit (ie before the split).
I am almost 70 years young and still enjoying this music so much.
73 and heartily agree!
One of the best rock albums ever, Argus, one of the best rock bands ever, greatest dual lead guitar ever.
Absolutely , 100%
@@M1cko33 Who is Rick Beato????
Love the track sorry to say the Almond bros take the cake.
Wishbone Ash is indelibly imprinted in my heart and soul~
Andy Powell very underrated guitarplayer. In my head: one of the best, and he sings to. What more can you expect from an artist.

My dad used to sit me down and make me listen while he had a drink,I liked it then love it now
A solo like this is worth all the shredding, tapping and pyrotechnics of so many moderns guitar heros...simple yet beautiful melody
Tapping was the greatest bullshit on guitar ever.
Much as I enjoy the guitar solo performed here, I still take issue with what both of you are saying.
Yes, melody is foremost and where it's at !!!###

Argus is one of the greatest albums ever! Great band.
Ach, ich liebe dieses Lied. Das Solo am Ende ist einfach göttlich 😊
I did not know this group, I discovered it by chance, they are very good.

Lovely bass from Bob Skeat.Much under- rated as a solid bass player and backing singer.
This is how you make music 👍🏼 never stop rocking 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
One of thee best Rock bands of all time! Guitar solos are just fantastic! Thanks Wishbone Ash.Huge thanks!

One of the classics, and it still sounds great.

Got Argus in 73, love this powerful music.
I'll be 72 in October
Wishbone Ash is the best band, where two guitars perfectly complement each other, giving a fantastic sound. The beginning was probably Persephony.
😋
Absolutely superb band.
I saw these guys first at the white rock theatre in Hastings in 1985. Been hooked ever since, even though I know they go back to the late sixties !
One of the band’s many classic’s off of they’re best album ever...the mighty Argus LP.Brilliant stuff, great to see this footage 😊👍🏻
Bardzo mi się podoba przypominają mi się lata 70 -te
Toujours au top ,un groupe fantastique !
Merci pour ce moment d’émotion 😢
