That worked brilliantly, thank you so much. I've been fretting for ages over cutting a round piece of mirror 18 inch dia, followed your instructions and worked perfectly first time. I just need to find some more mirror to cut now..!!
I had a large clock face to replace and managed to cut it - thanks for the video. The trouble was that it was slightly oversized and had jagged edges. I did not want to do it again. I bought a kids potters wheel off ebay and managed to set it up so that the wheel spun slowly and with the aid of a tungsten file mounted on a flexible arm and a carefully set up syringe to supply drops of water I switched it on and left it. Eight hours later it was done.
Great video. Never thought of using the edge of my pistol grip to run the score. I'll give it a try - you make it look so easy. If it runs completely, is there really a need for the relief cuts. I think I will try just popping it out once FULLY run.
In order to cut a circular hole in a square or rectangular shape, you would score the inside of the circle (usually in an x shape) and break that part up instead.
Hi,if i turn the glass unpside down after the first scoring and repeat the scoring on the other side, meaning both side scoring,do you think the circle will come out with less chance of breaking?it is necessary or not.thanks
Why is it when I use the runner, my circle breaks in half? When you cut the 4 cuts at the end, do they touch the circle or stop short? Thanks - awesome video.
The cuts are just shy of the circle. Are you making sure to push around the circle and flipping and repeating before you cut the 4 lines? Usually not adequately doing that will cause the glass to break.
Thank you! I think part of my problem is that I am not pressing hard enough making the initial circle. I am going to buy a pistol-grip cutter and and try your trick also. Your videos are great - keep them coming!
Hi Sumona, the cutter shown here is intended to cut a perfect circle. You can change the size of the circle, but the bar does not come in different sizes or adjust while cutting. Also, our equipment is intended for use by glass artists. This does not mean that our products are not used for other trades or purposes as well, but it is not what they were originally designed for. Hope this helps.
Hi! It would be difficult to do this on a double paned glass without taking it apart. Since there is air between the panes of glass it would be best to complete one at a time. You could always use a laser to cut them both at the same time if you have one! Hope this helps, ~BI Crew!
Thank you. I got my circle cut, but it's very jagged. It doesn't matter because it's for a clock and the outer ring covers it. I bought the exact same circle cutter as in the video but it didn't make a nice scribe like the one in the video, I could hardly see it. In another video the guy said if the cutter is new you want to dull it a little first, I didn't know to dull it so I didn't, do you do that?
Hi James! You can find this tool here on our website: www.bisqueimports.com/Precision-Circle-Cutter . We also have a variety of other tools that you may find helpful for your glass projects here: bit.ly/2WZMApo . Hope this helps! ~BI Crew
Yes... All of your cuts are 'hot', fuzzy and frosty. You need oil. Bad. This would surely fail with 1/4 and 3/8 glass. Not to mention cut the tool life in half.
Hello! I tried to type instructions in this reply but ran out of space so I'll point you to a great tutorial on this. If you go to system96 dot com and scroll down to Glass Fusing Information and Tips, click the Circles and Rims link. Enjoy, and good luck!
I can put a 3 in. hole in a pain of glass in 4 sec. if hollywood see it they will have to rewite all those jewelry hist movie and do it my way the video i did is called { I put a 3 in. hole in a pain of glass in 4 sec.}
Original posting is old but who knows. That "trick" works best with single and double strength glass. Make a 1/8" etch in the glass with your wheel (glass cutter) then hit the glass with the ball end of the glass cutter 2" away from the etch mark if you want a 4" hole (on the same side of the glass as you made the etch mark....yes...same side),1 1/2" if you want a 3" hole,etc.,etc.. If you hit the glass just right the center piece of the glass should pop out leaving a nice neat hole. BE WARNED....the edges of the circle on the side you did the 1/8" etch will be surgical sharp as opposed to the opposite side which will be rounded.
what is the use of a stupid glass circle???!!! please make a video for making an opening in a window, not a circle. also try some thicker glass , not this 2mm thing.
Hi zero cool, this video is intended for glass artists. They use thin sheets of glass like this to create art and mold them into shapes, and often the molds are circular. We do not have a tutorial on cutting thicker glass or windows as that is not really the business we are in. Hope this helps, and good luck with your window.
Best tutorial I've seen yet on cutting circles. Very smooth, not jagged like others.
Where can I get these tools? Great tutorial

I admit, I gave the new cutter a squirt of WD40 before I started.
Thank you for the helpful instructions. I followed your steps and bingo!! You're ace!!
best tutorial in months! keep it up

Thanks a lot for your help my friend
Well i need a circle cut out of the glass, not the surrounding glass cut out from the circle. Basically the reverse of this. How do I do it?
I appreciate it. Excellent!
Helpful, thank you.
Now that's a cool tool!!
neat job
Thank you
Super cutting
can this glass cutter also cut laminated glass..
Thanks, but I need to cut out the inside part for a light box a whole in my mirror .
I need 3/8 in dia discs about 0.22" thick , 1000 pcs . Do you know who is the best guy to contact for this ?
Thanks a lot. What if we need to do circle in the window?
In order to cut a circular hole in a square or rectangular shape, you would score the inside of the circle (usually in an x shape) and break that part up instead.
Thank you sir for your reply.

I need a 22mm circle. How to do that?
Hi,if i turn the glass unpside down after the first scoring and repeat the scoring on the other side, meaning both side scoring,do you think the circle will come out with less chance of breaking?it is necessary or not.thanks
Sir can cut? Small watches glass please sir

wat are the numbers 1 to six on the cutters for ?
I need to buy
This whole time I thought these circle cutters were like jetpacks or grappling hooks; fake gizmos you only ever saw in movies.
Pięknie👍💪
finally i can sneak into the casino im gonna rob silently!
Is the bar variable in size..? Can see this bonking the jams / frames / sills of windows when doing corners for Exhaust Fans.

@@SlumpysArtist Aw, oh well.. different sized bars would be great.
Interesting
really surprised how rude people are on here lol. Just because YOU don't know what a circle is used for, doesn't mean it isn't often used.
its the internet ladie u don't need a reason to be rude, welcome to the web :)
How can I do this to a double pane glass?

Good cutter harly leaves a mark but it cuts, matter of fact this guy put too much pressure on the cutter
how many times did you broke the glasses until become an expert?
Break not broke
I just came here to learn how to break into places quietly
Same I also need lock picking skills an then all off the snoots in my neighbourhood will "mysteriously" go broke

Why would you not oil your cut?? That is such a basic step.
the new type cutters do not require oil, i have been taking classes for 1 year now.
+Janette G that particular silberschnitt circle cutter needs oil.bad. I have cut glass professionally for 15 years.
"This is in centimeters so you'll have to do a conversion" ... Or just be like every other nation on earth and use the metric system
You are not a teacher in cutting the glass and very slow and i personally challinge you

i have never seen such arts.... but thanks anyway.
I use round glass all the time for making bowls and serving dishes.
Classic round gauges. Auto speedometer, tach. pressure ect..
