My name is Sam and together with my girlfriend Lyanne, I am on a quest to restore the beauty of this old Italian villa from 1895. Join us as we have to let go of our Dutch habits to fit in in our Italian surroundings, were the word 'plan' gets redefined and our tastebuds are awakened.
The goal of this project is to show that with limited financial means and a lot of optimism we can resurrect the beauty of this abandoned villa in a green and sustainable way. But most of all learn from everything that we encounter and enjoy it whilst we're at it. - Jak na to + styl
I know you’re having a tough time with the pipes…. but those floors 💕 Marble stair treads, the checkered marble floor - gorgeous
I agree with you and was just about to say about the floors, but you beat me to it, hope they wont be discarded,
Glad you like them! And of course we've not going to get rid of them :) we haven't thrown anything out really have we, except the things that really really had to go
Suggestion, you may be flattening the top of the pipe with the hammer making it more difficult to get the pipe out. Use a block of wood between the pipe and your hammer.
good one, thanks!
Sam and Dad you both are doing a great job getting the pipes out, see you on the next video.
Your patience and determination is incredible Sam. Good luck.
Wow, repairing this water system is one way to get to know every inch of you Villa🤗🤗
You bet! and that's exactly the idea. it's just as much about getting to know the property and the design of the place as it is about making 'progress'
Well done Sam and dad a very long and laborious job getting water into the villa and now to the rooms. You are going to have a stunning home one day when you bring this old lady back to life 👍
Can you please give us an actual tour of the house, so we can visualize the rooms and how complicated the plumbing is?
good idea, probably later though sorry. All the videos combined now should actually give you quite the overview I think?
What patience you have! Good work habits . “ Don’t leave it till it’s done”.
🎉🎉well done Sam and Dad😂keep at it. 😊 🇨🇦
Love watching your vlog. Amazing work!
What a fun!
it truly is actually :)
I agree, both you and dad have great patience with those pipes!
Truly enjoying you tackle this huge project
Wat een gepeuter en geploeter weer, respect heren!
Great video 🎉.
This is amazing.
A air hammer might be of use for forcing those pipes out some air hammers come with blunt tips that are good for hammering and other tips are good for chiseling stone & tiles too
Well done! 👍🏻
I think that you're getting the knack of it, those went much smoother than I expected. It's really weird how buried some of those joins are, in floors and walls, but the pipes are on the surface. ???
My goodness, I hope you get heat soon!
as do I :)
Piano piano arriverete alla fine di questo enorme lavoro💪ciao
Did they build the walls around the curving pipes? 😉😁😁😁😁😁Hammer Harmony🎶🎼👏✨🌟🙌🏻🤙😁😁😁😁i cant wait wait to see it finished🤘its going to be Sooo BEAUTIFUL!!!🌟✨🌞🌞🌞🙌🏻🍾🥂🏆BRAVO!!! FANTASTIC!!!
Ooooof that looks like a pain! Keep up the good work. I do not understand the reasoning behind some of the ways they chose the pipes. The T junctions in the floor, bends in the walls. I guess I have a lot to learn!
👍
You’re both doing a great job. Btw, as I’m partially deaf, I couldn’t hear what you were saying whilst you were wearing the respirator. Rob, Cardiff, Wales 🏴
Sorry Rob, will try to either speak clearly next time or add subtitles! thanks!
Bon courage 👏 ❤️
Great job as alway, I would like to ask you, if in the future you would record longer video's of you working in any particular daily jobs, I Know I believe you had asked everyone, if we prefer shorter or longer video clips? I don't know? But as far as me it's concerned in any case, I really appreciate everything you can show us, short or longer video. Having said that, we do know that also you and your father are having tight schedules and understandably you wouldn't want to be bothered to much explaining to your viewers all the time and I fully understand that. But let me assure you, that it is and has been a lot of fun even just watching your father and you showing us all the work you started outside and inside, 🙂 for me and I guess for everyone since you started.
Thanks Sam.
I will think about it! thanks Sal!
I think you and your dad are sick of the sight of pipes 😊
hahahah yeah, and still not done
Oh, my! :0
The original plumbers obviously charged by the hour. 🙄
Selamat pagi

Great video … again the pipes 😅 it’s a high project but keep going it’s good to see how it’s done and how much work it is…
Which camera are you using ?
haha yeah unfortunately. that's what you get when you buy a house this large.
I am using the camera on my phone
I've watched all the videos at once, very beautiful place, interessant building, a lot of courageous work but I was wondering why you are removing this heating system ? These iron pipes are strong and efficient, you still could use it.
Glad to hear that! good question, basically because they have been left unused for I don't know how long, so there's rust and probably other bacteria in there which I don't want to mess with. plus, I get to design the new system, tailored to my needs and design for that place. thanks again!
I hope you are making a map of the plumbing and electric net of all the house, so in the future your sons and other descendants won't start from zero, as you are doing now
good point, and I certainly am. Wouldn't want the next person to have to do the same thing
Are rocket stoves good for heating?
The fundamentals of Rocket Stoves - Permaculture Principles
Rocket stove combustion systems deserve attention for a few reasons: they offer close to complete combustion of the wood, meaning they are hyper-efficient and burn super-clean. they can reach very high temperatures, and can be hooked up to almost anything we want to use that heat for.
don't know, what I do know is that I don't want to maintain a woodfire all day. but I might use a rocket stove in a different project though! thanks!
✨🌞✨
♥️🇧🇪😊
Hi, looks like a dificault job, a lot off work... I assume that you are takling the heating, what is the problem with the old pipes and radiators? What type of heating system will you be installing.
