    I have been using the black version for a month now. It's far exceeded my expectations, great design and materials. Ideal size for daily essentials.

    I bought one after seeing your review. I love that it can hold a water bottle in that front pocket so I don’t have to hold my water bottle. I often dent my water bottles because in my regular backpacks it slips out or I have to hold it with my hand which can be annoying. This sling fits my iPad Pro 11in in the big compartment, although due to the way that padded sleeve is slanted, i can’t actually put it in the padded sleeve, which is fine for me since I have a durable case. I like the durable hidden pocket. I also like those side straps to give more support and so the sling doesn’t bounce on your back as you walk. The fact that you can put away the straps too is nice. Very comfortable and quality design.

    Whoomp, there it is! I was so pleasantly surprised to use this as my daily carry through Hawaii. I fit so much in, was never left for wanting more and most crucially the water carry was always back of mind, which was luxurious to never worry. The top grab handle was pretty sweet too, and was perfect for a hat leash attachment point.

    Great observation about the carry space being compromised if you have a full-sized (32oz) water bottle.

    Might not be the best place to say this, but I can fit an older 11" Macbook Air in the tablet pocket! It can't angle into the actual tablet sleeve though. I've been using the bottle pack as my "personal item" on flights wearing this on my front with a 38L pack on my back; they've been a good combo. Modifications: I cut off the flimsy red key clip and replaced it with a tiny carabiner. Drawbacks: I do wish the zippers were water-resistant.

    Atom lacks a outside bottle pocket. The hf sling back lacks exterior compression straps. We just cant win can we.

    Great review. I've had the black version for a few days. Really like it, but I wish it wasn't hard locked to left side orientation as I prefer to casually wear slings on my right shoulder when less active (standing in trains, lines, light walking, etc) 😕
    The secondary strap really is great for stability though. Wore it while riding my bike and felt zero issues with the bag shifting around while fully packed.

    the harness system is similar to that of the chrome industries kadet which i’ve been using for a couple of years. really useful to keep the bag in place whenever i’m on my bike or just walking around town!

      It’s a shame the cadet mini doesn’t have a stabilizer strap!

    This was so helpful to me! Just bought the Patagonia Atom Sling 8L and it just wasn’t for me though I love the look. Hoping that second strap will help with stability and sliding around but excited I can fit my iPad easily. Thanks for the review!

    Wow I've been carrying a 32oz Nalgene bottle around for years. I bought a "Wild Wolf Outfitters 32" which I would use to have my bottle handy and could carry it because it had a grab handle and a strap. With that, I also have a fanny pack made by "Fitdom" which I will use more like a sling than a fanny pack. This pack might keep me from carrying 2 different bags around when I feel I need my water handy. Generally my water bottle is on my desk at work in the back seat of the car when running errands.

    How does this weigh 24oz/680g? That's more than the Able Carry Daybreaker 2 (a 25L backpack with full harness). Looking forward to your review of that one btw!

    • @Andorski
      @Andorski Před rokem

      The Daybreaker doesn't have many interior compartments adding to the weight of the bag and volume increases exponentially vs. surface area. This Hydro flask bag looks more padded as well.

    Do you think that the stretchy mesh material that is holding the water bottle could retain its shape and is durable enough to last for awhile?

    Will this fit a 36 oz Yeti rambler? That bottle is slightly thicker than the 32oz Hydro Flask, I believe.
