You know what I just realized all the winners from 12 all won in a weird circumstances. Lucy won by help from Corio, Haymitch by weird hack from the barrier, Katniss and Peeta from their love story and the fact both of them survived

Maysilee Donner, the girl in District 12 who was reaped with Haymitch, wasn't his crush. He didn't even know her until she saved him halfway through his games and only then did they team up. They had grown to care for each other throughout the games as SOLELY friends because of their teamwork and the fact they're both from District 12. Haymitch actually had a girlfriend back in 12. He had a mom, little brother and girlfriend back at 12 and that's who he was fighting for, he wanted to survive to make it back to them. When he used the force field to win, Snow thought it was a crappy way to secure victory and around 2 weeks after he won his game, Snow had his mom, brother and girlfriend killed. He seemed distant from Peeta and Katniss because he was the only mentor in 12 so year after year for like 20 years, he had to watch the D12 kids die. After a couple of years, he stopped trying to help them because he didn't want to become attached again, only to have to watch them die in a brutal way. He only helped them because he eventually saw a spark in them that he didn't see with the past tributes. He thought they were fighters. He focused on Katniss because he *thought* that only one would win like normal, and Peeta even admits that Katniss is better than him so instead of focusing on the one who Haymitch thought would die, he focused on the one he thought would win.
Haymitch had the most legendary win in my opinion, he not only won the games, but that means that he was able to beat 47 tributes, which means like, 12 career’s (not directly killing them I know but still beating them all together)

I mean, it's kinda reasonable. Katniss would've probably won even without Peeta, but for Lucy Gray, Haymitch, and Peeta, they were the classic District 12 tribute. Lucy Gray (to be fair it was only the 10th hunger games so) was weak due to starvation and the only thing really going for her were sponsors because of her voice and her speed. And even then, the drones for sponsors sucked cause they were literally used for the first time in her games, and some of the other tributes were probably faster than her. If Snow hadn't cheated to make her win, she wouldn't have. Then Haymitch, if he hadn't figured out about the force field, he would've died. He literally was HOLDING IN his guts, and even if he dodged the axe throw, that District 1 girl would have out lasted him, and that's considering she didn't go after him with even her bare fists because while Haymitch was pretty small and puny because of the poverty in D12, the girl with much bigger than him in muscle, being from D1. And then, well, Peeta isn't the strongest in hand to hand combat. He wouldn't have survived if they didn't change it so 2 victors could be crowned. You know how Peeta is, I don't gotta explain. I feel like Katniss is the only true victor, but then again, I guess Haymitch DID win. But you know what I mean.
Ok, so the next follow up movie should be of a young Haymitch in his 50th Quarter Quell Hunger Games. ❤ I would be so excited to see it come to fruition 🎉🎉🎉🎉 please please please
Something that the films also never talked about was that Katniss' aunt - her mom's sister - was one of the female D12 tributes during the same QQ as Haymitch. If I remember correctly, Haymitch and the aunt were allies until she was killed. Katniss learned this during the second book while she was rewatching old Hunger Games footages.
It was actually the mayors daughters aunt! (Can’t think of her name but the girl who gave Katniss the pin in the first book) but she, her twin sister and Katniss’ mom were good friends!
And the other girl tribute, Maysilee Donner, was friends with Katniss' mom, too! During the reaping, after Maysilee's name was read out loud, she grabbed onto Katniss' moms dress sleeve. And not to say that "hey, help, I'm your friend, volunteer and save me" more like, "oh god, I'm gonna faint, im gonna die, let me grab onto the closest support I have"

Casca Highbottom didn't want Snow to get the prize so he thought "oh well, might as well kill 2 birds with one stone" and gave Snow the weak and feeble girl from D12 (Lucy Gray)... he thought she would die immediately because D12 never had a victor before cause of their weak bodies due to the lack of food

Plus he made an alliance with Maysilee Donner, one of Katniss’s mom’s friends who was reaped, and when she died he stayed next to her like Katniss did for Rue. (also, by badly injured, they mean he was literally holding his intestines in and the girl he was fighting had lost an eye)
What was really sad though is that I think President Snow was upset with the fact that he used the forcefield as a "weapon" so Snow ended up killing his whole family and girlfriend which is why he has and excessive drinking habit.
Yeah, her name was Maysilee Donner. She actually teamed up with Haymitch and the only reason they split up was because the tributes were dropping in numbers and they didn't want to have to kill each other. He was incredibly upset when she died and when he heard her scream, even though they weren't teamed anymore, he still ran to help her because he had grown to actually be friends with her. Its so sad.
And Snow was so pissed because Haymitch made the capital look like fools when he did this and ordered his family and girlfriend to be killed. Funny thing is that the Capital didn’t learn their lesson because they used forcefields AGAIN 25yrs later. But then again the lesson was more for Haymitch than the capital.
Well as far as I know, there have only been two winner tributes from district 12, Haymitch and Lucy Gray (who won the 10th hunger games), but since Lucy cheated the games along her mentor (Coriolanus Snow), the capitol saw this as an act of rebellion and decided to completely delete the history of the 10th hunger games and any trace of Lucy gray. So in reality there is two district 12 winners, but only one (Haymitch) is known by the rest of the people. Hope that made sense

She competes in the 10th games so 40 years before haymitch plenty of people across panem would be still alive and remember Lucy Grey. And her song hanging tree continues to exist all the way to 75th games so her story would too. And I do belive katniss mentions there being another victor in the first book but that that victor is no longer alive.
When I was younger. One of my best friends had a birthday party that was themed after the hunger games. we had to pick a character out of a hat. I got Katniss and ended up surviving longer than all my friends, but I was eliminated a few minutes before the game was over and mind you I have cerebral palsy.
He’s definitely one of the most impressive victors. I mean- bro beat double the amount of people. And he’s probably so depressed after having to watch 24 generations of tributes from 12 lose (not to mention being punished from how he won)

OK according to the first three books haymitch is the second Victor district 12th then when we read the prequel, we find out that Lucy Gray wins the 10th Hunger Games, and only a handful of people know she won so that means there was five victors one Victor, we do not know
District 12 male maybe could have a big chance to win the games since they're from Coal Mining District but unfortunately before they turned 18 they have no idea to use a weapon, if they're started working at mining coal since 15-16 maybe they'll have a chance to build more muscle, strenght, and use any tools as a weapon.

Katniss only knew to do that because she saw what beetee was trying to do, if you look closely she looks at what’s next to beetee and sees he has wire wrapped around a spear to break the forcefield before he was electrocuted. That was Beetee’s job
We need a trilogy about the founding on panem...Since it's based on North America, we need to see how this happened...How did Canada and Mexico and Americas governments merge? ..What parts of America, Mexico, and Canada were nuked? Did all 3 make changes or did Mexico and Canada's join America's style of government? WHY is the Capital in Nevada? Why did only District 13 get a pass? Actually he’s the third winner from district 12. His mentor was Rummage Lorman; winner of the 5th hunger games, he’s only mentioned in the books once. and Lucy gray winner of the 10th hunger games.
Rummage Lorman is a fan made character. Lucy Gray was the first victor from D12. Thats why Casca Highbottom assigned her to Snow; Snow had good grades, Highbottom didn't want him to get the Plinth Prize so he gave him the District that never wins (and then obviously Snow cheated and she won)
Yes, we all know exactly how Haymitch won his games… it’s explained in the 2nd book because Peeta and Katniss watched the tape! We also know the price Haymitch paid for surviving… his family and partner were executed. I would love a book going into more detail about the uprising the dark days and how the hunger games were formed and what the other options were

Yeah, her name was Maysilee Donner. She actually teamed up with Haymitch and the only reason they split up was because the tributes were dropping in numbers and they didn't want to have to kill each other. He was incredibly upset when she died and when he heard her scream, even though they weren't teamed anymore, he still ran to help her because he had grown to actually be friends with her. Its so sad.
And Snow was so pissed because Haymitch made the capital look like fools when he did this and ordered his family and girlfriend to be killed. Funny thing is that the Capital didn’t learn their lesson because they used forcefields AGAIN 25yrs later. But then again the lesson was more for Haymitch than the capital.

Well as far as I know, there have only been two winner tributes from district 12, Haymitch and Lucy Gray (who won the 10th hunger games), but since Lucy cheated the games along her mentor (Coriolanus Snow), the capitol saw this as an act of rebellion and decided to completely delete the history of the 10th hunger games and any trace of Lucy gray. So in reality there is two district 12 winners, but only one (Haymitch) is known by the rest of the people. Hope that made sense

She competes in the 10th games so 40 years before haymitch plenty of people across panem would be still alive and remember Lucy Grey. And her song hanging tree continues to exist all the way to 75th games so her story would too. And I do belive katniss mentions there being another victor in the first book but that that victor is no longer alive.
When I was younger. One of my best friends had a birthday party that was themed after the hunger games. we had to pick a character out of a hat. I got Katniss and ended up surviving longer than all my friends, but I was eliminated a few minutes before the game was over and mind you I have cerebral palsy.

OK according to the first three books haymitch is the second Victor district 12th then when we read the prequel, we find out that Lucy Gray wins the 10th Hunger Games, and only a handful of people know she won so that means there was five victors one Victor, we do not know

District 12 male maybe could have a big chance to win the games since they're from Coal Mining District but unfortunately before they turned 18 they have no idea to use a weapon, if they're started working at mining coal since 15-16 maybe they'll have a chance to build more muscle, strenght, and use any tools as a weapon.

Katniss only knew to do that because she saw what beetee was trying to do, if you look closely she looks at what’s next to beetee and sees he has wire wrapped around a spear to break the forcefield before he was electrocuted. That was Beetee’s job

Why is there no technology for anyone else to communicate with one another with, only to kill? what exactly happened in extreme details on the screen with amazing actors...
The fact that people keep asking for Haymitch’s games is beyond disturbing. Yes it’ll add to the lore but it also mirrors capitol behavior. It’s almost like the message went over everybody’s heads…

Rummage Lorman is a fan made character. Lucy Gray was the first victor from D12. Thats why Casca Highbottom assigned her to Snow; Snow had good grades, Highbottom didn't want him to get the Plinth Prize so he gave him the District that never wins (and then obviously Snow cheated and she won)

We also know the price Haymitch paid for surviving… his family and partner were executed. That’s how desperate Snow was for control of the districts - forcing children to fight to the death for entertainment and then punishing them for surviving. 😞
