I felt the livestream did a really good job of pointing out the deeper meaning. Everyone is standing in line, nodding along with the crowd... conforming. But at the same time Tyler's line "I've got a long drive, I'll tape my eyes" makes more sense when you realize "heads are nodding" also refers to falling asleep. And Tyler has a history of referring to dying as "falling asleep" and having faith as being awake (and to be awake is for us to think and to think is to be alive). He's telling us to wake up and escape DEMA, join him on the outside... Like it also reminds me a lot of March to the Sea where everyone is lined up to march to their death, but an Outside Voice says "follow Me instead"...especially because of the next set piece...
This song being followed by the bucket of water being dropped on the street (which thematically resonates with Addict With A Pen) and transitioning to Tyler singing on a boat "wait for them to ask you Who you know" and then singing "I want to know You, I want to see, I want to say hello"is just pure genius. The whole livestream was brilliant.

This is my fav on the album! They do play all the instruments. The reason this is the first top album to feature electric guitar is because Tyler taught himself to play last summer!
If I taught myself to play an instrument like the guitar, I would feature it above everything else, lol.
There are some previous tøp songs with guitar, but you're right, it's the first album to prominently **feature** it :)
Tyler plays all the instruments, except Josh on the drums. In the live stream event they had people playing some of the instruments too, I didn't recognize them all but at least there was Paul Meany, Dr (Jesse) Blum from Misterwives, etc. Also singers for the backing vocals, some dancers. At some points Tyler even danced with them. It was awesome.
Some say that the part: "Kids will try to take my vibes" may refer to other bands, copying what they are doing.
I kinda like to think it could also refer to kids downloading his music for free...

The chorus is so catchy!! I believe the lyrics about falling asleep while driving allude to the lyrics in Tear in My Heart "you fell asleep in my car i drove the whole time..."
