one time my mom a few years ago saw a stray dog on the side of the street (you probably know where this is going), so she decided to let him/her in so she/he wouldnt get hurt. but then the dog started acting weird and furious, my mom then saw the dog was foaming a bit at the mouth and she knew immediately that it had rabies. so she put our other dogs in our backyard, put me upstairs behind a dog gate, and carefully put the dog outside (not with her hands) then when she put it outside we were safe. the dog also drooled foam on our floor so we also cleaned that up so were good dw

How do antibodies work against rabies if rabies spreads via nerves? Aren't antibodies part of humoral immunity and operate in blood but they also say rabies isn't found in blood. Then how can antibodies be effective

Yea so I think they don’t infect the nervous system until it reaches the central nervous system via the brain and spinal cord, then symptoms appear.

This disease dates back thousands of years, asking where it came from is like asking where the flu came from. Might be possible to answer, but would be extreeeeeeeeeemly hard. It's not like you can carbon date some virus, maybe you could try to make inheritance studies to try to figure out the changes in genes, but it's not like virus have convenient mitochondrial DNA you can easily track

This was a few years ago but I was at my friends house because his mom and my mom were good friends and we were outside and they brought they’re dog out but she had some tissue in her mouth and since I was a dumb child I kept going close to her,teasing her,trying to take the tissue out of her mouth and finally the tissue fell out of her mouth and like you all been waiting for!she bit me,I screamed to the top of my lungs but I had no idea what the heck rabies were and I didn’t get it surprisingly!

If you had a wound or cut on your leg and the dog licked it then there is a chance of rabies so be careful and get vaccinated if you are not sure

They pointed at the backyard foaming and they Have Anti Proof Gloves So If They Are Bitten They Will not effect the human and they got the doberman and they put it in the they clean cage and after that The dog died 14 Days at the vet and They Cutted the head with a knife And They Put The Head On The Clean Zip Lock Bag And They Go To the laboratory And They Saw The % How It's Fatal The Laboratory Said It's 100% Fatal. Its scary that when you see someone foaming in the mouth that's a sign of rabies the reason why they foam because ONCE you have rabies you start foaming because your body is now a fear of water or saliva, so you don't want to swallow your saliva or water, then you will try to swallow but you spit it out then you will die in a COMA. But if you are lucky head to the doctors and a the treatment, if the doctor is to far, and you got bot by a rabid wash it with warm water and soap before it becomes serious.
14% of dogs survive rabies. Bats can survive it too. If we understood how they are resilient to such a fatal disease, then we might open the path for new therapies and treatment.
