It would be nice to see the red wings in the playoffs again. And if they are, I wouldn't sleep on them. This is a team that could turn some heads in the post-season if we end up seeing a prime-time Patrick Kane in action.
Even people don't see prime time Kaner.. you realize how deep this team is?? They have like 11 players with TEN Plus goals.. they were a playoff team in the making BEFORE Kane even played.. let's not dare short sell the TEAM aspect of what this Red Wings team is now.. 5 best offensive team, top 10 in penalty killing .. also able to run 4 lines fluidly.. this is a good team and seems like they finally are starting to gel.. I called this team a playoff even before we got Debrincat.. if you watch and study thr players and analytics of what Stevie-Y is trying to establish.. it's the same format as the Golden Knights, and Panthers, ( he even said that in an in interview a week before the season started) he's just doing it at a bargain with a lot of grimmy under the radar type players.. I easily saw this forming.. people need to put RESPECT on Detroit.. they're for real, and they're winning WITH Kaner not because of him..

Kane isn't the different maker in this team. he's a nice add on for sure but the team won't fall apart withkut him. Larkin, Sprong, Seider and Lyon are the actual heros here.

Kane was a huge addition the guy is a magician with the puck and I think along with Larkin and Debrincat and gang scoring a lot the sky is the limit.
Wings have really flourished so far this season with the offseason additions. The depth is beyond anything I think most fans could have even hoped for this year.
Great player Patrick Kane! I appreciated his time in NY as a Rangers fan. He was injured and contributed what he could - the negativity toward his is unjustified and dumb. The coach could not manage the locker room and was fired. The leaders of the team failed to live up to expectations. Happy for Kane and for Wings fans! I’ve only encountered awesome fans from Detroit with respect for the fellow Original 6 club! Good luck in your run!

It feels good to finally see a winning wings team again. Grew up with Lidstrom, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg and now the future is looking up with Larkin, Debrincat(both hometown heroes too!) and Seider. And Kane has just been a nice surprise this season.
Yeah man. I grew up and saw 97,98,02,08 cups and saw the yzerman/federov era and datsyuk/zetterberg one. Been tough as a fan from like 2016 till now lol. So good to see us competing again.
I’d love for Larkin to get some more love as one of the better complete centers in the league. Excellent At faceoffs, he’s in the top pp and pk, is a possession and zone entry GOD, and can still blow by you with that speed while playing tons of minutes

As a Hawks fan (painfully, still) I appreciate any mention of Kaner. Yeah, he's a Wingnut these daze, but nobody's perfect.
I'm sorry that he didn't get to finish with Chicago. IIRC they didn't really even pursue him. I'd like to see him remain as a Wing. Will be fun to see him and Bedard tomorrow.

Been a wings fan since I came out the womb, dads from Michigan I grew up in Washington state. It’s nice to see them in a good spot after the yzerplan has taken full effect.

I grew up in the late 80's and 90's watching my Red Wings dominate, it feels so good to FINALLY look like the teams that I grew up watching. I wish we had a few more fighters/goons on the team, but I'll take the wins.

Kane, DeBrincat, and Larkin are all hometown Michigan boys (Kane moving to Detroit at 14) so I'm not surprised he chose the Red Wings -- he knows what an elite franchise is, and one managed by one of the greatest players of all time, Stevie Y.

Larkin is BY FAR one of the most complete players in the MHL for ALL of his career and therfore the MOST UNDERRATED player in the last 10 years.
Had he played for Colorado, Tampa, Boston or any other big team he'd score 100 a season absolutely effortless!!!
Never can be upset for the tough people of Detroit getting some success. That city has had 1 maybe 2 more recessions than the rest of the country. It's been a rough ride but they have heart out there.

I bleed red and white. I'm disabled so I have a lot of time on my hands. I watch close to 60 games a year. I was 20 when they won the cup in 1997. I've been watching since 1992. I watched the entire saga unfold between Detroit and Colorado. I was watching the night Roy got blown out in Montreal. I was watching the night Draper got hit. I was watching the night of the March massacre. I was watching when Yzerman scored with double OT winner. I watched the first night the Russian 5 debut. I saw every game in 2001/2002 when they had Datsyuk and Hull as the 4th line. I saw every game in 2007/08 when they won the cup again. I bleed Red Wings hockey. That OT game winning goal against Colorado by Kane was the best thing I've seen in a decade. I still have a psychotic hatred for the Aves.

I just want to say, so many good players make passes like that where they load up and make a quick "snap pass" and you will see it rocket off their stick because of how they use the flex. Kane does it better than most but that's the new wave for sure.

As a Wings fan, I love how the Kane signing has worked out. I’m hoping he beats the odds and plays more than the 47 game high of previous players who’ve had the surgery. I hope the Wings resign him, too. In interviews you can tell he likes being in Detroit and wearing the Winged Wheel.

Hey man, could I request a some more Boston coverage? Feels like i haven't heard that much about them since the new year despite just moving from a market that used to have one of their farm teams back in the day. At the start of the year I just remember Poitras looking like something special, McAvoy taking that next step to being one of those guys in the league just a step above, not to mention Pasta and Marchy doing their thing. I guess they're not as hot lately? I'm not sure i just get the notifications for some losses and feel like I see nothing on tv anymore. Did we just kill the news cycle with the goalie trade talks and having the best regular season in history last year? I still want to know our cup chances haha.
