    You are the first women EVER that I have heard share the same sentiments about labor. I'm not a huge fan of pregnancy ( not a walk in the park for me), but I love giving birth:) This is my last pregnancy,I am going to really miss pushing out my babies. I have had to epidural births and 2 epidural-free. Everyone thinks I a cookoo when I say it but I love giving birth. It is such an empowering and beautiful moment getting to see that little face at the end.

    Thanks for sharing your experience. I had the opposite experience with my 3rd birth/first home birth. I didn't think I'd have a water birth, but once I got into the tub, I couldn't get out. I tried once to stand up and nope. At the end, I couldn't move. So definitely be prepared to go with the flow! Each birth is different. One thing that helps immensely is relaxing and picturing your uterus muscles pulling back when the cramp/surge starts - so it's not just a random pain, it's actually MOVING towards something. Picture yourself opening up. Good luck to everyone!

    Most natural birth stories that I’ve heard, people said that their labor was super quick (like 3 hours and under). I’m not expecting that kind of luck, since my mom was in labor with me for 19 hours before finally getting an epidural. So it’s good to hear from someone who pushed through it for so long and still did it unmedicated. Thank you for sharing your story, and congrats on having your baby!!

Anything is possible though; just have to work on your mind prior which I totally did not! Thanks for sharing your experience here! I gave birth to my boy a month ago and during all my pregnancy I wished a natural birth, I wanted the experience and to be able to push my baby out of me and into this world. I wasn’t able to experience that because the umbilical cord was very very short, so my baby never fit in the birth canal and I never had dilatation. So.. I had a c-section. At first I was disappointed at myself and ashamed, just as you said, but then my obs told me that this was the safer way for both of us and that nature is so intelligent.. my baby would have been hurt if he had inserted himself into the canal. Now I’m positive of the way I gave birth and proud of myself and, above all, of my baby. Thank you for your words.

    Having had just delivered at a birthing center and choosing the water birth, I can say I wish I had seen this video before hand! I did not prepare and all of these tips I 100% recommend and will advocate not to take them lightly. Although, labor was 18hrs for me from water breaking to Delivery. Most of it was super easy until the last 5hrs of active labor. Worst pain of my life which I keep calling a level 12. I can handle pain pretty well and have never even remotely gotten close to what I just experienced, but the empowerment that comes is just as incredible and knowing you worked with your baby together to make it happen and feel and experience everything with him or her is everything. I'm sure I will have more babies and I couldn't imagine anything but natural.
    I loved getting to make my own decisions and feel when to push and bear down and make the primal noises and just be. I did need total silence. The thought of someone touching me through it was painful. My husband was awesome in respecting my space and letting me just be. I really wished I would have taken a class and practiced breathing exercises daily before and practiced the low noises I needed, but it worked out and I found my way and had the most amazing Midwife to get me through it and coach me as it was happening lol I def recommend getting some coaching before though! Nothing like learning on the job though lol
    I guarantee I will be putting much more prep work into the 2nd baby! Good luck everyone to all your births and happy, healthy babies!

    I’ll be 35 weeks tomorrow and had an Unmedicated birth with my daughter 7.5 years ago that lasted 45 hours. I watched your birth vlog yesterday and it definitely brought back memories! This time around we hired a doula and I hope to utilize more movement, position changes, and aromatherapy for pain management. I just wasn’t ready for it the first time!

    The main reason i dont want an epidural is because of the possibility of getting sick from it( i often dont do well from some meds or get anxious) and that it can make your baby quite sleepy for the next few weeks and affect breastfeeding. But i think its absolutely amazing that its available especially in emergency situations like fetal distress or moms high bp

    I’ve had 2 unmedicated births, one in 2018 and one in 2020. They were both amazing and quick. I used hypnobabies and I recommend it to any pregnant woman, even if you don’t want to go unmedicated, it teaches you a ton!

      @eelham100 Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Ashley, do you have any material for hypnobirthing? I have just recently heard about it while I only have less than two weeks to go .
      My first one was unmedicated too, but I am looking for less pain , been looking to CZcams videos on breathing and techniques,but not sure if that's all about hypnobirthing.
      Can you help me?
      Thanks 😊

    • @ashleycoiro9565
      @ashleycoiro9565 Před 3 lety +22

      @@eelham100 hi and congrats on your baby! Okay so hypnobirthing and hypnobabies are different, I too stumbled upon hypnobirthing first when I was looking for less pain during childbirth. But hypnobabies is more of a full on course that teaches you self hypnosis , it’s about 10 weeks long so unfortunately I don’t think you can jam it into two weeks. You said you’re looking up breathing techniques and I think that’s actually a really good idea. Here are a few things that really helped me during labor and delivery from the program.
      1) belly breathing, when you feel a contraction close your eyes and breathe in and let your belly expand then breath out. ( you can practice by putting your hands near your belly button and when you breath in your hands should pull away from eachother.
      2) dont tense your body, keep yourself open, welcome the contractions rather than fight them because each one brings you closer to your baby (and being done with labor 🙃)
      3) a cool trick they teach to open your body is open your mouth and relax during contractions. They say if your mouth is open, your cervix mimics it. They also say to picture the contractions being a nice warm hug around your belly and a nice massage for your baby, I pictured that a lot and felt like it really helped.
      4) also, they call them “waves” in hypnobabies instead of contractions, I found this helpful and calming because waves always come to shore, they might build for awhile but they’re going to come to shore. Think of your contractions that way. You can also do anything for a minuet when my contractions got intense I just relaxed and thought “I can do anything for a minute”
      5) get on that birthing ball and bounce! Not the entire time but when you feel like you can just do it, I got to the hospital at 6cm and bounced on and off for only 40 mins and I was at 10cm ready to push. I know the ball was really helpful I’m moving things along so quickly.
      6) when your contractions feel close and intense it means you’re in transition and baby will be out before you know it so welcome that and breathe and know you’ll be holding your baby soon.
      7) put in your birth plan for the nurses not to ask you about your pain level, add in that you will bring it up if you feel the need to.
      I know that was super long but I hope it helps you in some way. It’s actually strange that I woke up to your comment because I just had dream before I woke up that I was telling someone all about hypnobabies 😂 anyway, good luck! You’ll do great!
