  • In the early years of the twentieth century commercial dredging removed a beach from the tiny fishing village of Hallsands in South Devon. Soon high tides and storms washed everything away and all that is left now are the ruins of this maritime community. Dr Sam Willis meets maritime archaeologist Grant Bettinson to find out more. The ruins are shown as never before with dramatic drone footage.

The Trout sisters, residents of Hallsands and local hoteliers there above the village! They were my ancestors and it’s fascinating to see pictures and footage of the area. Visited there in 2020. Such a beautiful area. Thank you for this video.

Typical. Money and vested interest coupled with curruption and greed (in short stupidity). BP, Shell. Look out.
