Box looks like something you'd see in a high end home theatre system. Thing is beautiful. Looking like it belongs in a Rolls or something.

40hz sounds good on 8in subwoofers. So that box is tuned perfectly. Im sure that the design and that quality birch keeps the port noise to a minimum. Great video as always.
I love 8's. When I was building and installing it was always one of my favorites to work with. This was back in the early, mid 90's. Damn I done got old....

Nope. A basic box at a local shop starts at 250 and that's mdf covered in carpet with no kerf. The gately box is a steal at 269.

I dont understand how that thing works (the thing to know at what hz the box is tuned) can someone explain please ?
STEve Beats Hz is the out put and Ohms is the impedance if you put more Ohms in than the Ohm limit it blows in other words that set can blow the windows off a house if you used it for your speakers
I meant how does the machine knows at what hz the box is tuned. It's only plugged in the terminals. Im mind blown lol 😂

@@STEveBeats The machine it's self doesn't know what the box is tuned to. All it's doing is outputting a signal at a certain frequency and displaying the resistance that it takes for that frequency to be played through the speaker. It's up to Steve's knowledge to know what that all means, as the resistance varies as the frequency changes.
I think it measures the reactance (XL) of the speaker and not the enclosure. depending on the input frequency it will determine the imaginary impedance (z) that the subwoofer would see. But another thought is because the subwoofer box is loaded the coil is no longer in a free air environment. So the speaker might experience resistance within the chamber. It's an interesting tool. I would love to know if someone really knows how it works. Thanks
