      Have a look at the CCD certification and the CompTIA Security+/ CySA+. This, tied together with experience in a cybersecurity position or even an IT position should help to get you in :)

    Hey there! Thanks for the helpful video. I'm an international student looking to study cybersecurity in Melbourne, Australia. I'm hoping to start working right after . Do you think that's possible and if so any advice?

    • @dccybersec
      @dccybersec  Před měsícem +1

      Yes it’s possible, but not easy. Focus on private businesses and not government, as government roles often require a clearance which only a citizen can obtain :)

    So for an international student who is thinking in studying Computer Science in Australia. Will it be easier to find employement or an internship if I go the software development route or cyber security? I mean, based on what you were saying it's quite challenging getting an Cyber security job if you're not a citizen or have permanent residency, right?

    • @dccybersec
      @dccybersec  Před 2 měsíci

      There's not really any internships in IT/ cybersecurity in Australia. Yes, it's quite challenging to get a job in Australia (regardless of industry) if you're not PR or Citizen. This is even more prevalent when applying for cybersecurity jobs that require a citizenship to gain a security clearance.

    Hi, thank you for the video. I am a civil engineer but I have made a career switch 3 years ago and now I do cybersecurity. I hold Security+, eCPPTv2, OSCP and OSEP certifications. I don't have much experience on the sector as a pentester or red teamer. I would like to ask how likely it is for me to move Australia and find an offensive security role there. Thanks in advance

    • @dccybersec
      @dccybersec  Před 3 měsíci

      With those certifications and *some* experience, it shouldn't be too hard. What matters most is your work expeir3nce and working rights (visa) in Australia.
      If you're keen on gaining work experience in pentesting to show on your resume. Head to learn.saferinternetproject.com and become a member, then join in on the live pentesting sessions that happen each week (real pentests on real business systems).
