I think Chris dismounted the dial and reassembled it wrongly. That's why 324 instead of 314.

@Latest Obsession 3 layers of cake, 1 cherry with white “cream” under it, and 4 cherries with no “cream”.. it’s there on the puzzle :)
@Latest Obsession not really though, majority of the puzzles out there rely on trial and error for the solver to get them correct. There is no one correct way to make or solve a puzzle.

@@DrPastah If you search for macaroom you'll find them. Apparently been going for some years but being a japanese band they're completely unknown to us english speakers. The album "Swimming Classroom" is great. Can't understand a single word though haha

It's gonna be the solution to one of those Japanese puzzles that require you to just slam it lol
This is probably an odd suggestion, but for the next time you have a puzzle with a small opening you want to show the inside of, you could try a digital otoscope. It's definitely not its intended use, but it's a tiny camera with a light on it and if it's gentle enough to look in ears, it likely wouldn't damage any of your puzzles.

I would definitely glue it if I made a Lego puzzle. Just make the mechanics viewable post solve. That way you can still see how it works, but don't have to worry about being super careful with it.

8:00 I'd assume that the knobs are some kind of combination lock and see if pushing or pulling the red handle could cause binding so that the lock can be manipulated open.

I actually kinda like the idea of being able to remove the dials only because after you solve it you can change the combination for whatever reason you see fit.
Personally I would make it part of a scavenger hunt/escape room style thing for kids and have hints to what the new code is.

Made a lego ship puzzle for my grandkids. More I tried to fit different mechanisms in the bigger it got. But I had something on all six “sides” and too hard for them. Had to coach them. Took me 6 weeks to build. Fun!

two things, first you cant glue lego they melt when you put glue on them. secondly when I first saw the “cake” i thought 3.14 for Pi when I saw it had a combo lock.

Honestly most of these lego puzzles should be put together with lego cement so you don’t accidentally pul off bricks unless it’s intended

Yo Chris. Been a minute since we've seen a Lego puzzle. These are def some of my favorites. My daughter sent you a set of Lego puzzles a while back. Did you happen to get them?
Glue seems like a bad idea. Keeping to ideals of a Lego puzzle I think one of the most important things is being able to get an idea of how the internals work either by reverse engineering or taking the puzzle apart.
@Latest Obsession There are multiple reasons to buy a puzzle. Some are more concerned with the tactile aspect of the solving process, but some would rather resonate with the creative process that goes into designing the puzzle. I subscribe to the latter because I come from an engineering background, but I can certainly see where both sides play in.
