These videos are very well made. My only concern is the quite liberal use of copper spray near the friction surfaces, such as on the face of the hub before fitting the drum. To reduce the chance of contamination of the brake shoes I use a half inch brush to paint grease on, rather than spraying liquid grease from a can.

Before starting work on the brake system, it is recommended to open the brake fluid reservoir cap, and after the procedures, check the level and close it back.

Lovely job until the sprayed on copper grease coating at the end!

Yes, copper grease can react chemically with an aluminum wheel. Therefore, if copper grease is used on aluminum surfaces, it is necessary to monitor operating conditions and regularly check the condition of parts to avoid undesirable consequences. More precisely, what lubricant is recommended to use should be found in the technical documentation for repairing your car.

Read this first if you’re about to change your break shoes.
This looks easy in a fast forward video, in real life it’s not.
You’ll save at least an hour when changing both sides if you remove the hub. Also, you’ll not damage the parts and hurt yourself.
If you only changing the shoes as the headline says you don’t have to go inside the car, the shoes would also be worn if need replacement so they’ll not look the drum.
But if they are, there is a release you can access through one of the holes for the nut.
Since this is a dirty job you want to avoid getting inside the car.
Also, you never ever spray fat, such as wd-40 on a break no matter what.
You never ever mix breaks and fat if you know what you’re doing.
In the video the drum is changed too, which should be mentioned since that’s the only reason to maybe get inside the car but often it’s still not needed since people rarely tensioning a wire on a self adjusting drum break.
And also if only changing the shoes as the headline says you’ll need to grind the drum on its inner outer side to remove the little edge that’s left where the old shoes has not worn the drum down.
My suggestion, look for another tutorial for this task if you want to succeed.

The jobs a piece of piss with the hub still in place. But you are correct, reusing the original drum you will need the lip machining off.
