ALL ABOUT LIVING WITH XOLOITZCUINTLI

- The Xoloitzcuintli dog breed - sometimes called the Mexican Hairless or just Xolo - may well have descended from the first dogs to set paw on the North American continent.
In their native Mexico and Central America, they were popular “doctors” - the heat given off by their bodies providing comfort to people with arthritis and other ailments. People still like to cuddle with them today!

I’m not Mexican by means. But the xolo is my dream dog, the spiritual and cultural history behind this breed is so fascinating. I can not wait to get one!
Same.
After doing research on dogs with no hair, i know there’s a hairless cat but dog? And then i found out about this breed and honestly i would like to grow old with a xolo dog one day.
I love the breed and they come in so many varieties! Amount of hair and size.
Ours is awesome
Same here.
My grandmother had one, very good dog, lived 22 years.
wat.....22
That's old
I used to bathe a Xolo every few weeks. She was a therapy dog and she went to nursing homes. I used to paint her nails fun colors. Her name was Medina
If Dogumentary TV makes a list of 10 breeds that shed the least, they have to be in the top three. XD
Wow, she did a superb job explaining the whole picture of owning this dog. In HR, we call that a "realistic job preview." Great job finding her to interview!
Her point about having a finite socialization period was also something I didn't know and will be very cognizant of when I get a dog in the future 👍 So helpful
her dog is attacking her clients dogs. shes also going around saying kay lawson kills coated puppies
Love Malory. She is a very well respected trainer in the xolo community. So happy to see more xolo content on Dogumentary TV!
Yes! Love her ❤️
Does she have an instagram?
@@IamLilibel k9fitbitch
@@IamLilibelshe gives it at the end of the video.
her dog just attacked one of her clients puppy...
I have a Xolo right now and ill tell you he is the best dog i have ever had. My people used to have them (iam p’urepecha from michoacan)
Didn't the Purépecha also defeat the mexica at some point?
@@TSPH1992 Yes you are correct. The P'urepecha had to second largest and bordering empire to the Mexica (Aztec). The P'urepecha were also known for doing bronze work which was really unheard of in those times amongst indigenous populations in Mesoamerica. The P'urepecha at one point even drove the Mexica empire back. I wish more people knew this history of my people. I understand why the Mexica (Aztec) get all the clout in Mesoamerica but it honestly sucks because it takes away from all the other amazing tribes out there.
Malory is the best! My baby is currently with her (she’s playing with Xochi here). She truly is the Xolo whisperer ❤️
Such a cool dog breed. Thanks Malory for sharing! As a half Mexican myself I can relate to your story as well ❤️
Some folks say that dogs look strange without fur. Looking at these hounds, that is not always the case.
Such a good video!! Malory you killed it♥️
Love watching all the work you put into these dogs and that they’ve awoken your soul!
Fascinating. She’s a wealth of info!
Fantastic Job Malory! So fun to watch you and Xochi show the world how bad-ass Xoloitzcuintli are!
I am in Australia and did a genetic test - my kelpie mix has Xolo in him! ❤ best smart funny dog ever. Super athletic and learns incredibly fast.
I’m getting one on in a few days. I’m a bit nervous because I have a super spoiled husky and I’m praying to anyone that will listen for a smooth transition.
This was so helpful! Xolos have become my dream dog the last few years, so this helps in my research.
Thanks for the fantastic video. She is a great trainer and educator!
I got my 3 legged big Xolo from the shelter. He plays with my other 4 dogs. He can run nearly as fast as the other dogs - even his right front leg is missing from an car accident. He likes cuddling very much and is very protective but not agressive.
my xolo his not compete hairless - he has hair on his head on the top on his head but not on his face and his tail has hair - other hais is missing.
Mexican pride💯💯💯 you guys should do an episode on the calupoh another Mexican dog which is even more rare
There cute
Great job Mallory! Your favorite Malinois loved watching this ❤️
Thank you! So well explained, and I have a much better understanding of the breed now.
Xochi! I love you! Malory awesome to see you both! Xulo and Pecas say hello!
I loved hearing from this young lady and meeting the dogs
I have xolo's also...great presentation. I agree with you 100%. Just had to hand raise 2 from day one. They have very different personalities. We do confiation hope to see you around.
Sensitive, loving and a clever breed..not for inexperienced owners. A great video ty
Love these guys. I have wanted one for years. I'm currently looking for a puppy as a companion only. So far have only found show dogs. Thanks for your documentary. They are beautiful. ❤
VIEN BENIDA A NUESTRA RAZA. HORGULLOZO TENER UNA MEXICANA COMO TU..SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE & FOR THAT ALONE YOU ARE PURE MEXICANA.. YOU HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DOG IN THE WORLD.. COLIMA NATIVE MYSELF & I JUST LEARN A SHIT LOAD... GOOD JOB, VERY PROUD...
Woow that’s an amazing dog , never seen one in person 💪
Great job!
Excellent video.
Professional Cuddler.lol
Adorable
🛑 So much valuable insight I have not found anywhere else. Thank you for sharing.
Cool looking dog!
Ohhhhhhhhhh Tennessee!!!!! I am in Knoxville, I would love to meet your pup!
Such a beautiful pure breed
Id love to have a Xolo, preferable the smallest ones, but I live in Denmark so can be size choosy :). I currently have a retired Greyhound girl. She is perfection and I dread the day she isnt here anymore cos I love her beyond anything. She just set the bar really high :D
Thank you for making this. My dog Waldo. Looks just like this breed and you described him to a tea. We think he’s mix with a pit.
Her comments on temperament, intelligence, training, guarding....
Remind me very much, of Chihuahuas ( Another ancient Mexican breed ).
Close parallels, with both breeds. Only, Chihuahuas, only come in small and toy.
I’m half Scottish and never connected until I bought a sheep. That sheep will die for me
Congrats Malory
Beautiful
I thought this was an excellent video for people starting their research into a very unique breed.
Could we get a video on breeds good for cat owners. This Channel is great for dog information
Awesome
She has the best job ever.
Where do you get a whole sheeps head. Need to find videos/resources on the best diet for them.
Love Malory!!!
Thanks for the helpful CZcams! Are you breeding the Xolos yet?
Pleasure to watch about this dog
I am Mexican..and I have never had a Xolo. Damn... but I hope soon.
Do you feel that the smaller-sized dogs will do well with about 40 minutes to an hour walking daily? I'm older and walking an hour in the morning is about all I can physically do.
That one dpg with the turf of hair on the tail.
Xoloitzcuintli, I love mine
I have a sphnyx cat...she's so lovely. Im highly considering a xolo.
I'm hoping you're also bald. 😅
@@GBHanny8 ...shaved head on a #2 guard. Once you get a hairless animal, it's almost impossible to go back to a hairy existence :)
@@asmrbynature3057 You MUST get a Xolo then 😆
I can see why somebody who is superstitious would think it's a chupacabra, especially the ones with a little hair on their head.
I rlly want a xolo, but i have a chiuhauha so will the xolo be nice to my chiuhauha? Cuz chiuhauhas are small
Mine likes to cuddle my face and she is very warm and a barker. She love playing with my pit. But she wants to eat my ferrets. I adopted her when she was 3 shes 4 now it been a Process training her. Shes great with my kids but they are older and have been raised with dogs. They do pick there owner. I got mine from and older client that could deal with her anymore. I'm a dog groomer my girl would only let me cut her nails when she came in. Thats why her old owner gave her to me when she needed to get rid of her. We got her the month of October my daughter named her spooky. Its very fitting. She has great eye sight. Ive woken in the middle of the night with her looking into my soul.
I wish I could listen to this video without recalling the negative experiences I’ve had with this person.
Xochitl means "flower" in Nahuatl.
Gorgeous Eyes!
How often do I have to moisturize a xolo ? I have one but his skin is a lil rough
This can be for different reasons. It could be diet, skin care products and or genetics. You should give my brand a follow. We focus on sharing information from basics to more in depth things. @xolosupplyco
How would one be with cats? Like would it be a safe decision to raise one up around 2 other cats?
I love hairless breeds! I currently have Chinese Cresteds.
Those are so cute! I'd love to have one as well
❤
That’s my FRIENNNNNDDDD!!!!
SoCal Xolo’s 🔥
👍😊
😍
She likes them because they look like Anubis! And it’s the same for me
How are they with people with allergies?
First comment!!!!
Great video!!!
Love from a golden retriever is same as love from xolo
malory is also going around saying kay lawson is killing her coated puppies which is a lie
I have the coated version
23 years experience? You look 23
I need to learn to take this as a compliment instead of a condescending insult so thank you, but I am in my mid 30’s and started competing in dog sports at 10 years old when AKC allows junior handlers. 🥰
@@maloryknezha2083 Enjoy it will you can. At 57 yo.... I don't hear it any longer... You'll miss it!
🤦 Maybe she doesn't place any value other people's validation of her looks.
It’s equivalent of a saiamese cat
Not a good dog to have if u live in the arctic, I would think
And yet there are a number of Xolo owners on the Xolo fancier pages on Facebook who live in Norway, Sweden, and Russia. And yes, the dogs wear clothes much of the year.
My first thought was that this might not be a great dog for Sweden. Perhaps not a big worry with proper clothes.
@@melissanichols784 I have a Doberman in the arctic & they freeze 6 months of the year & barely go outside, even with all the clothes u wanna put on them ,& they are short hair ,not bald
When ur forced to come up with a username
Lol it's a very cultural and spiritual dog to Aztec culture it's named after the god of death but the native language is very hard to learn
I’m a Mexico
One of the only thing bad in this dog is his name kkk
23 years and 6 years specifically working with this breed? That's not that much? 🥴 this profession might take credentials a little TOO seriously if that's not a lot
So not a good family dog, that is a bummer.
So basically, this dog is just a black chihuahua...😅. Pretty dog though.
overall traits & character is very typically non-European, primitive.
Lmao
The fuck lol
So you got a xolo and now your more “Mexican” lol o ate Panda Express dose that mean I’m more Asian
that trainer malory is a bad trainer. shes scammer and her xolo is attacking her clients dogs. shes knows nothing about xolos and basis their temper off her aggrassive dog. im embarrised you guys posted this...sad
Nothing like a bone in your nose to get people to take you seriously, what else might help? Tatoos, yes, nothing like tattoos to make you seem wise and approachable, what else? Wiccan jewelry of course, nothing says deep thinker like belief in medieval sorcery. Everything about this woman screams intelligence, I would definitely take her advice on what incense I should buy.
Hey, if you’re boring just say that
And by the way, the “bone” in my nose is a pentagram. More witchcraft for your boring ass 😊
As a Mexican and owner of Xolos, I would invite you to do your research before making a video misinforming about everything that has to do with this breed of dog so that in this way you can really connect with your Mexican "roots".
Lol my mentor is in Mexico City and has been breeding these dogs for 23 years. I am not spreading any misinformation ❤
What was the misinformation you claim?
what is that thing? A woman?
I’m a woman, thanks 😂
