    I love seeing somebody talk about Soma in a list of under-appreciated games. It’s beautiful in so many ways & has the most real horror: existential crisis, what it means to be human. It’s beautiful. Thanks for adding it to your list
    Oh & as a huge fan of Little Nightmares, I’m going to have to check out Bramble, so thanks!

      Glad you liked it. And I agree, it's great food for thought, and a great horror

    Fantastic video! I am going to check out some of these titles ASAP, although I can actually personally recommend Inscryption, Pathologic 2, Dredge, and Oxenfree.
    Also, I know you didnt ask for feedback, but I think in future it might be best to find some music to use for your video that is longer than a single 5 second loop. It does get a little grating over 13 minutes.
    EDIT: also also your editing is nice and clean. You've got good taste in games. I'm subbin'

      Will keep that in mind about the tracks. I appreciate the feedback, and glad you liked it. Thanks for subbing!

    love the videos ❤ putting me and so many others onto so many under appreciated indie gems. was wondering if you could do a video where you make a list of games similair to hotline miami and sifu. also is there any other way to support your videos, such as a patreon or something of the life? wanted to support these amazing videos. much love you’ll get to 10,000 soon

    • @indiegameculture1
      @indiegameculture1  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes! We just started a Patreon, and it's a little bare bones now, but you'll get all videos a few days earlier, and you'll get some exclusive content as well starting in the coming weeks.
      I really appreciate the kind words, and honestly, the best thing you can do is share our stuff and tell your friends.

      I'll be sure to add those proposed ideas to the pile as well! Thanks for watching ❤️

    In the same vein of 'Escape the Backrooms' I would advise 'The complex: Found footage'. It is set in the same universe where you must escape the backrooms, though where it differs is its strength. It is singleplayer and mostly quiet. Due to the lack of voices or other comfort it creates a strong and consistent unsettling feeling. During my playthrough I also was amazed at one minor decision, that I am not sure if there is a monster. Now that might sound counter intuitive, but it really isn't. Because you aren't wholly sure there is or isn't something lurking around, you aren't sure when or whether you are ever safe. Its replay value is rather limited, but if you have never played it before, it's free on Steam.

    Great video. I was wondering would it be possible for you to put the platforms the games are available on in the next video ?

    You probably already know this but late last year the Lost in Vivo dev, Kira, released a fantastic dungeon crawler inspired by the Dark Souls precursor: the King's Field series. It's got a fantastic retro aesthetic but it's much more modern in gameplay and pace

    Good list. I know the CZcamsr Markiplier is working on a film based on Iron Lung.
    I should also add Signalis to this list.

    • @indiegameculture1
      @indiegameculture1  Před 3 měsíci

      Signalis is a really good shout, I only recently started playing it actually (after the edit). Otherwise it would have been a shoo in!

    I was with you at the start. Killer Frequency, Bramble, Dredge. All fantastic games. But Soma was made by the Amnesia devs, Iron Lung, Phasmo, and Escape the Backrooms are the biggest horror games in recent memory, what on earth is this list? You started off strong then devolved into a buzzfeed list.

    • @indiegameculture1
      @indiegameculture1  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I mean, I'll give you Phasmophobia, it has went pretty mainstream. But every one of these is an indie project, and by extension, could be considered a gem.
      Not everyone is as deep in the trenches as everyone else, so it's best to provide for everyone.
      But glad you liked the front end of the video nonetheless

    The real horror is the 5 second loop of music you held for 15 minutes, are you out of your mind!?

      In the immortal words of Super Hans. 'The longer the note, the more dread'
      But for real yeah, I won't be quick to do that again. But appreciate you watching ❤️

    Inscryption is one of my favourite games 💙🤍🤎. PS, there are three acts, all different on their own. Act II is not an RPG. It just looks like one.

      @indiegameculture1  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yeah, I know. I just felt like simplifying as I thought giving away the tonal shift was already little spoilery....

      @@indiegameculture1 I probably wouldn’t have kept playing after Act 1 if my friend didn’t make me 😅 I was like “uuuuuhhhh…I don’t wanna play an RPG” 😂😅
