Reed has the highest max vert at 42”, I thought that was really surprising.
Highest vertical was the spursing bit, the film showed Reed Sheppard has some bunnies on those perimeter blocks.
He gamed the measurement by intentionally tanking his standing reach. The vertical is based on your standing reach and Sheppard had an all time bad standing reach. Still can jump but it isn't a real 42" vertical.
It's crazy He and Bronny are the same size, he has him by two inches on the vert but Bronny has a 6'7 wingspan smh interesting.
With Edey, the underrated aspect is effort. These other guys just might not even given max effort at a job interview.

Sarr’s lane agility being worse than Edey is shocking.
Clingan's standing reach matching that of Edey can be as a result of one of two things:
1) He's more broad shouldered than Edey. So the winging out of his scapula when he raises his arms helps give that needed addition to his reach.
2) Faulty measurement.
Also edey has an enormous head lol. Their shoulder heights are pretty similar
Opposite. If you have a narrower shoulder width but longer arms, you could have the same wingspan, but your arms extend higher.
We did not clingan handle eddy. Clingan was abused by eddy in that championship game they won because the other Purdue guys weren’t as good as UConn’s guys

Obviously didn’t watch the game. Edey wasn’t getting any good looks and stayed in the game late to pad stats. Clingan sat on Edey’s left shoulder, the shoulder that he loves to turn over on as he really can’t go over the other side, and Edey had a really hard time adjusting. Edey’s stat sheet from that game looks pretty good due to his garbage time stat padding lmao
That's a lazy take. Who is going to honestly stop Edey 1v1. He has so much size advantage

@@adrn0104 Stat padding. That’s hysterical!!! Edey wore that boys butt out. Hurley kept rotating UConn bigs in on Edey and he still scored on them or got fouled and scored free throws. Edey played 37+ minutes against UConn. He played his ass off, knowing the rest of Purdue was getting swallowed up on defense. That’s why Draymond Green got SO MUCH shit for saying Edey quit that game. Edey NEVER quits! Draymond quits on his team every time he has a temper tantrum and it cost them a championship.

The standing reach thing is like mostly shoulder width past height and wingspan, also minorly affected by flexibility.
Zach Edey is so huge, i hope whoever drafts him features him on offense.

What about pick Bluin Lofulo ? He Had 6-4 in height, 6-11 in arm span and 25cm in palm width. He is point guard.

If I'm the Pistons I take Sheppard with the 5th pick, he will provide that spacing, and can defend, 2.5 steals a game is impressive , it would make Jaden Ivey have to step up his game . Sheppard could also provide some spacing, I don't know much about the forwards foreign prospects , I've heard Risaccher is pretty good, but will he get past the Rockets at 3
Houston would be so dumb to pass up on Reed Shepherd.
The shooting is ELITE, he can make high level reads, he plays bigger than his size, plus he is NBA ready.
There are no other prospects that shoot like he does in this draft and much less do so while being very effective playmakers.
They need a backup point guard, meanwhile they have a logjam at the wing position, and all the wings are so raw that they won’t help them win this year.
I do not understand how they can pass up on that level of skill in Reed that the team desperately needs. Just stupid.

Actually the houston need a young guard cuz vanvleet was only brought there to help the team for few year till the young players gain exp. So they do really need a guard.
I agree with you on that. They don’t need him to start right away but he’s a capable shooter and that’s what rockets need.
Clingan is also an option but I don’t think you would draft a big man who is one dimensional in the nba. He plays great defense close to the rim and gets the rebounds. Not sure how he is offensively if he will fit. Rockets did have a big problem with someone getting rebounds and that’s why they made a trade to get Adams.
Both option would be great IMO but I prefer Sheppard because of his shooting and stroke. Plus he just posted a vertical of 42 inches. He can still grow 2-3 inches before he’s 23 just like Segun.
Asaur is the PG of the future. Trade down and get Edey

Why didn’t you talk about Reed Sheppard’s 3 point shooting performance? The NBA Scouts already knew he was under 6-3. The reason he’s going to be a lottery pick is because he was the best 3 point shooter in college last year’ top 10 in steals and an elite facilitator. So if Sheppard goes top5, you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about…agreed?

He's gonna cut it with that plus his athleticism and his shooting ability(idgaf about a college season coming off damn near dying he's always been a good 3pt shooter in hs and his form is good) Good comps for him are Avery Bradley, Deanthony Melton, Gary Payton II, Pat Bev, Tony Delk, Davion Mitchell, etc. Good solid 2 way guards.
I think the Euro players go before the Kentucky guards after those measurements come out
It depends on who's looking for who.
This draft seems to be more about fit rather than taking the top available talent, for example my Spurs could take several different players at 4 and 8 and it will make sense due to what we are looking for

He's short but is a strong and built 210lbs with a solid 6'7 wingspan, he has enough size to be a defensive guard.
His measurements are pretty similar to Donovan Mitchell

I don’t respect the 3 pt contest, due to my personal experience playing basketball. Just because you make some threes in a drill, doesn’t mean you are a good shooter. And vice versa. We’ve seen full seasons of these guys, we should use that instead

You measure players by not just what they do during the season you measure them at the combine by what you can see them do in person. Bottom line is they get tested on everything you can probably think of.
And shooting is one of those things.
It's to showcase potential, form and mechanics. For guards, obviously a lot of your shots would be under duress.
