    Haters on Edey don't understand or want to understand that he is running an offense that is based on this play style. That doesn't mean this is all he can do. Edey shoots well from the line and at the draft combine he hit multiple 3's in a row with great form. At Purdue he did what the coaches asked of him and clearly excelled. Why I think he has a chance to be good in the NBA is he wont have 3 guys draped on him at all times, he will ALLOWED to be more creative/shoot and the BIGGEST reason is he is unbelievably durable/in shape. I've never heard of a guy this big playing entire games before and he doesn't miss any games. Idc what you say that's mind blowing - he's 7'4 and 300 pounds.

  • @mxtthewcx8
    @mxtthewcx8 Před 2 měsíci +15

    in the pick and roll, Edey surprisingly does not look that slow moving to the basket. His game is essentially all of what Jakob Poeltl is, a 7'+ big who's slow, a good shot blocker, decent rebounder, a floater/push shot and hook(Edey will probably develop these). he also has the height to be able to shoot over guys in the mid range, like Porzingis. He might not be that strong, but being 7'4 he is heavy enough to punish other centers in the paint, catch lobs and maybe some spin moves if he learns. Edey basically has more offensive skill than Gobert(primarily he dunks/catches lobs), and almost as much as Poeltl. Both of these guys are successful defensive big men in the league. Tell me how Edey, who has even more height than both of these guys, and a longer wing span, can't be able to thrive in the NBA. like y'all don't think with an NBA shooting coach he can't develop at least a midrange??

He’s a very slow footed big and he will be going against much smarter, quicker, and athletic guards. People saying he's only big in the NCAA and will get bodied in the league. They often compare him to Zubac (or heck, 6'9 Tyler Hansborough, lol). C'mon now, Edey is going to be a giant in the NBA as well. He's 7'4 with a 7'11 wingspan. Zubac is 7' with a 7'4 wingspan. That's a massive difference... The only player with similar size with Boban (and if Wemby goes on steroids), but Edey is clearly more coordinated and athletic. People also complaining the league is soft now - well great, even easier for him to take over.

      @tabletalk33 Před 6 dny

      I agree. His game does need work. He also allows smaller, weaker players to push him off the block. If he gets a lot of resistance, pushing and shoving, etc., he needs to take more advantage of his size and strength to overcome it and show who's boss out there. He also ought to dunk one-handed more often so that he can outmaneuver and evade the defender more easily. He needs to watch old films of how Wilt Chamberlain did it. Much to be learned there.

      Hurley's antic in the championship game where flat out embarrassing, jumping around, doing high steps, running out on the floor, talking to opposing players and complaining about every call. He should've gotten a tech for walking out to the top of the key and talking to Edey. He stood on the floor the entire game...oh yeah, and he pushed his own player while he was IN THE GAME to pass it to someone. The guy is clearly the best college coach in the business, but clinically insane.

    Hes a full blooded center.. a rarity today... any team with this type of center can become a great team.

      I guess you don’t realize why traditional centers have died out of the league. Put a traditional big on the floor and good luck to your spacing and pace

      @@kalenmarshall8692 due to faster pace bball. That however doesnt change the fact a lot of teams often miss this kind of center that dominates the paint.

    • @kalenmarshall8692
      @kalenmarshall8692 Před měsícem

      @@johnnydenmark6477 no they don’t miss them, they simply don’t draft them because it’s 2024 and it’s been almost a decade of running small ball 5 or having bugs who space the floor by shooting threes. I’m not sure how much basketball you have missed but like I said before, there is a reason most teams are no longer high on big clunky centers in the draft.
