  • This video tells about USB to DC Jack Boost-up DIY circuit for Wifi Router/Modem. DIY cable can use to give power to Wifi Router or Modem using your Power-bank.
    Boost-up circuit can give power to 5v/9v/12v/15v devices. We can set the desired output voltage using potentiometer given on XL6009 circuit.

    XL6009 does not give more than 1AMP. So , it cannot give more than 900mah current draw. If your router is rated 900mah or more then dont bother with this. Remember that if you boosting a current from 5V to 12V... you sacrifice currrent. The Law is V=I x R.

    Can I set it to 5v? My router is 5v only.. How can I do..?

      I bought one 5v to 5v usb cable but it just turned off and on when power cuts. I have given power from adapter - > power bank - > router. Power bank not supply power continues when power cuts.

      Check the current too in ur router... Generally on Power bank 1amp or 2.1amp... So check the compatibility

    I have a urbn 10000 mAh power bank, which supports 5v/3a, 9v/2a, 12v/1.5a, can I power this directly to my WiFi router with usb to dc cable. My router requires 12v/1.5a input(D-Link 825)

      Yes you can.. Connect on 12v/1.5a out put.

      @@MrKuldud I directly connected my realme 20000mah power bank to Airtel Nokia Router,As power bank output and router input 12v 1.5A is same.After conecting both of them no light blink.

      You have make the circuit for 12v using xl6009 circuit.. 1.5amp means you have use powerbank of 3amp to split in 2 device
