For a new company on their second outing, the Phone (2) is actually quite solid. And if you're one of those who dismiss the glyphs as gimmicky, then you should know the company is actually way ahead of you. They are well aware that such feature is likely going to be scoffed at. But sometimes that's what you need to do to stand out in the oversaturated market of candy bar phones.
With LG no longer around, I'm glad Nothing is pushing for these ideas that aren't exactly groundbreaking, but at least they're daring to introduce and implement zany concepts, especially in a market where bare minimum, incremental updates have become the norm and where interesting features, let alone innovations seem to have already run dry.
I like its repairability, but at over 500 bucks it's a little too pricey for me. I just picked up a Samsung A54 on sale for $325 which has better features especially the cameras costing a lot less. The most important features for me are a less than 6.5" screen size (hate the larger ones), and an SDcard slot for storing my stuff on my phone, nothing in the cloud. Hope they can lower the cost in the future, then I will definitely consider it. :)
Exactly. Plus, if you turn off the Glyphs, it’s just a very good phone (with a cool looking design) anyway, which is why I got it. I preferred the idea of it to the Pixels, even without the Glyphs. I will say that the annoying thing about the Glyphs is that they COULD be useful, but they’re just not done in an efficient way. They seem to mess with do not disturb, the timer is just difficult to set, the widgets for the timer are pretty bad, and the rest of the features seem pretty useless to me tbh. If there was a way to tell the time on the back, the glyphs were smoother to use, and there was more freedom to edit, then it’d actually be a very useful feature. The call and the important notification glyphs are very good. Granted, this is only with a week or so of use.

glyph is just a plus points on this phone. Everyone cant appreciate this phone if they look the price tag or other features, the main thing that is very good is the updates and the OS. Ive been with other brands but Nothing was the only brand that has a lot of improvements thru updates, and battery is so hard to kill🤣
We will see with time, once they age a bit the “ohh we are new” wont be a valid excuse and that is when the truth will be visible. But so far i am positive
Trust me nothing smartphones in its 1st attempt achieved what Samsung didn't in last 15 years and that is OS animation smoothness and fluidity.
Samsung had to run so that Nothing and all the other companies can walk.

@@tejanb.s1218Samsung never had the intention to bring the ecosystem and the fuildity Apple has on its devices in Android: the only thing they could wanted to shine in is the fact they had powerful phone, with a good camera, for always cheaper than an iPhone and with inherently more freedom (Android).
It stepped back on all of these: it's now as expensive if not more than iPhones, it has less freedom for each new release, having to deal with Samsung shitty apps and nothing else, isn't as powerful as it was dethroned by a lot of other companies who actually focus on that and they lie on the capacity of their camera with the moon incident (among others).
However, they improved their ecosystem, but very late. At least it's that.
Either way, Samsung didn't create anything that after it, became the standard.
Samsung was only here to be the head of the war between Android and iOS and distract Apple while the other companies focused on real things, like the openness of their OS, the optimization, the customization, features (Samsung, and Apple always years later, would eventually copy), etc...

I like that the camera cutout doesn’t sit on the top notification bar like any other android phones. It’s actually centered.
I feel like you said this perfectly. It doesn't check all the boxes but it checks a lot of the right ones. Including the growing community!
I got mine, so far at this moment, I got no complains, the os is snappy as hell, the camera is good as I use a custom Gcam for NP2, the UI sis so clean, the updates are ongoing (the company really takes care of its customers feedback)

@@sahilb106 for me i have no problem with the hdr performance, the haptic feedback improved compared to the 1st 2 months this was released. I can say that if theres a bug or problems Nothing is very agressive on correcting them next update.

how much does gcam improve the cameras? The pixel7a has a similiar price than this,but the pixel camera seems to be so much better than the standard phone2 cam.

2:38. my only major complaints from my usage of Phone (2) is the lack of spatial audio support and missing telephoto lens. I can still live without a charger, features like smart cutout in gallery, faster charging etc, but I would really like to have spatial audio support in the software for earphones which have the hardware for spatial audio

Well i always said i dont need Upgrade from Phone 1 and then i had Time a little and played a bit with it.....And what to say its in my Pocket now.........I am really happy to use it Day by Day!!!!!!!!
Bought it yesterday. It is just a solid sub flagship phone.
If you look past the glyphs this is a very solid phone. But the glyphs do make the phone stand out. So i guess thats a "good thing" The nothing phone 2 really stood out to me. So I switched my Picel 7 in for it because i was tired of all the bug and my phone always restarting it's self. So i gave the nothing phone 2 a chance and i absolutely love it. This phone will give you amazing performance, great software, amazing battery life (I got 9hr SOT one day) i average 6-7 on a daily. Plus it has a good enough camera for whatever photos i take with it. Was the Pixel 7 better yes. But not by miles like CZcamsrs make you believe. Only thing i missed from my Pixel was the "call screening" feature. But with this being Android im sure I'll get it in a future update. But overall this phone has been great. Would recommend it to anyone that whats a great phone that will just work and last you 3-4 years. Nothing is what OnePlus use to be. I cant wait to see what Nothing does with Nothing Phone 3
@@ateefatahreem8402 phone is still working great. Software updates have made it even better in my opinion. I'm still getting amazing battery life. Phone just works. No problems whatsoever.

The camera is probably it's weakest point for me, it's good but it's not going to be beating an s24 ultra or iPhone 15, but for a $600 phone, it's good enough and it feels like a very premium phone otherwise
I actually love it a lot and I honestly don't care what people say about. I just wished it was available in my country.
I have the Pixel 6A and i really like it, looking to upgrade to Pixel 8 but the Nothing phone 2 seems really tempting,faster charging, slightly better chipset, however the camera still seems to lag behind the Pixel.

@@tejbirsinghsohalif camera is your only deciding factor then don't go for nothing phone 2 , I have been using both nothing phone 2 and pixel 7a , camera is nowhere close to what pixel captures , but ya other than that Nothing all the way.
I love my phone 2, best phone i have ever had, and i come from Huawei and oneplus(flagship phones).

In battery, phone 2 is better. I have never had a phone that has this good battery life then phone 2.
if i take my oneplus 10 pro for example.. and my phone 2 can do everything that my oneplus 10 pro can, but i like the phone 2 more. Its a phone more for me :)

One of the phone that i actually looking up to despite there is still some features that i wanted lacking like expendable memory card slot..guess i got to bear with the trend i think..but then while waiting to get may chance on the device..there is another devices launch that's more value for money to get😅..

In my opinion the look of the phone is very distinct, the software is great and the chipset is excellent, despite that the glyph light is a nice touch but still useless because most of the time you'll look at the display of the phone not the back
you do know that the glyph is not for you to see right? its for the people around you to get their attention lol. any phones you dont look at the back "most of the time" lmao

I bought it after like 10 years of iPhone and I was more than convinced... then I sold it for a S24 Ultra and oh boy what a mistake... so back on the Nothing Phone 2 now and I'm pretty happy with it (even more given its actual price). A very good balanced phone imo. Camera could be better as well, but more than good enough for daily memories.
Some of those photos look like they came out of a CCTV. Is that an editing mess up OR is that actually how bad the camera is?!

Currently im using pocox3pro with custom rom on it so i dont have to deal with miui shit. I'm thinking about switchingto Nothing next year. I like the looks, the OS and the community which supports this phones. Hope Nothing 3 will be amazing

@@yashkale5639 If the customization is really important to you than you should consider Samsung but I really like the nothing approach to design, also there will be a lot custom roms for nothing and some have also a lot of customization
Well for me when we have overpriced midrange phones and phones in general it's a great phone it last 2 days and i don't play games or use it for photos for me ir has it's use as a phone and i don't need spend thousands
I know the lights are a gimmick. But it’s cool imo. I’m mostly just surprised at the amount of people here who say they never put their phone face down. My phone is almost always face down if it’s on a table and I’m not actively using it.
Pretty smooth phone , camera s have improved with updates, if it had Google camera and software , it would be one best phones on the market, I like the phone factor, it's nicer phone than pixel 8 , with more updates this can be one of the best phones on the market, .

Sir, I like how you bring different useful apps to us, but can you find me an app that can record calls without informing the next person on call.
Nothing Phone should be offered with Stock Android, but also with their own OS based on Graphene or Calyx OS. This would really differentiate them from the masses and sell them even more phones. I am only using a Google Pixel, because its one of the few Phones that are officially supported by these operating systems, and so are many people. If word gets out how smooth, uncluttered, survalance and ad free these operating systems are, I bet many more people will turn their backs on Google and Apple, it would mean huge sales for a company that offers a good alternative. Calyx and Graphene OS have become better and better over the years and by now they are mostly on par with Stock Android and in many ways even better.
The pixel 7a sucks (cameras) this phone is cool for the price. I love a lot about it

I don' leave my phones screen down and when walking in the dark I don't want to be lit up like a Christmas tree in case that makes me a target. The lights are pointless for me.

The one thing I don't get about the Glyph lights is that they are on the back of the phone. I have never in my life put my phone with the screen down. Maybe thats how I kept my screens scratch free without any protetction on them.
the glyph is an overhyped feature solely for looks. the led indicator on my blackberry is far more useful

The lights are a waste of engineering and budget, as they live on the back which is exactly where you are not looking when using the phone. I'd rather have better camera's, or a better chip. * i am in Asia so the choice is enormous here, i understand if you are in the EU/US it is very different.
