Ahmad Zahir was a composer himself as well . Having mentioned this he sang songs composed by the well known great composer Nainawas who composed songs for many other singers according to their style . Saraban is also one of those singers that sang songs composed by Nainawas . Nainawas was arrested and killed by the intelligence service of the Khalqi faction of the soviet social imperialist backed regime that came to power in the April coupe d'état of 1978 . It is said his arrest and disappearance was right after the military uprising of Balahasar in 1979 . 17000 people were executed only by the Khalqies from April 1978 to 27th December 1979 , the date soviet social imperialists made their presence in Afghanistan apparent by occupying Afghanistan and bringing the parchami puppets with some of Taraki's faction of the khalqies 2 power .
@virgostar19 First of all Ehsan Aman isn't a new singer - he was around in the 70ies already. Second he is a songwriter - and he is a huge talent. Listen to the song "Omaid e Man" he wrote for the Kite Runner movie, and he wrote his own songs back in the days as well. And why bother about the quality of a live recording, which is not meant to be on an album and not the responsibility of the artist? If you guys don't bother to explore other artists than Ahmad Zahir, you won't ever find out.
Actually this song was composed by Ustad Taranasaz Ahmad Zahir did not compose any of his iconic songs. He was a great singer & performer, but he did not compose much. He worked with many composers, but most of his famous songs were composed by Nainawaz (who was a close friend and collaborator of Zahir)and Taranasaz. Also Salim Sarmast, Afghanistan's most accomplished composer, composed some songs for Zahir, but their collaboration was very short. Sarmast composed Agar Bahar Beyayad, Shabhaye Zulmani, Asman Khalist, Qadha Ra Sar Koned, Bacha Nasho Ay Dil, and Nala Ba Dil Shod Gereh. These were not Ahmad Zahirs most memorable songs (eg. Laili Lail Jan, or Khuda Buwad Yaret, or Zim Zim Zim), but were definitely some of his top songs.
He has good voice. what I don't understand is that these new afghan singers, with all the facilities in the world, they are still not able to have their own music compose and the quaity of the taping is not as good either. Look at A. Zhair 35 years agao... the must and the quality of the tapes So you can't buys talent
