If you don't have fresh aloe vera, you could always use aloe vera juice. (NOT the purple one). You can also use whatever oil and essential oils you want as well. These are what I had on hand and have always worked for my hair.

If you melt the oils and then mixing in the aloe its easier to whip

I would stick it in the fridge. I left it out on accident before and it was still good! Lasted a while too

So excited to see a recipe thats simple! I got on all this because i wanted to get away from SO MUCH PLASTIC WASTE but a lot of recipes want 6 different oils and nonsense... very excited to try it on my son's hair as shea butter alone does the job but smoother application would be great and i just love aloe vera.
I will melt my butter and add lavender blooms to it for the scent.
Lady at my local shop where i found the fresh aloe said freezing it should be fine... may mix it up and see what happens if i freeze a small portion to take out for later timeđ

Do you have to use coconut oil? I am allergic to coconut, in any form-even palm (oil) which is where the coconut grows from.
No you can substitute it for something like more olive oil, avocado oil. Something light.
Try apricot oil as well, that is a very light oil.
I keep my refrigerated so it does not spoil
You can keep it in the fridge if you want. It will just make it hard. All you have to do is rub it in your hands and it should melt again.

I donât see why you couldnât use it as a body butter. Iâve seen aloe, Shea butter and coconut oil used in skin moisturizers so I bet this could work for both!

First time seeing it done with Aloe. Great video. I have two questions if you don't mind answering: Aloe has a tendency to oxidise, won't it change the colour of the butter over time? Also, won't it go bad quickly due to the nature of Aloe (it's high water content etc)?
usually with any water based product you have to put a preservative in to make it last

The best way to preserve this is to keep in the fridge. It will last months if refrigerated.

Can this be used of the scalp
I typically donât put it on my scalp. I put it on my roots and work it down to the ends of my hair. Heavy butters can usually clog your pores, so I would avoid putting it on your scalp unless you are going to wash it soon.

Either way is fine! I like to use it on wet hair.
