About a month ago I saw and heard this happen: while I was waiting for a delayed train which would take for over an hour, I took a stroll near the station. It was in the evening. I saw a policecar stop, a policeman stepped out to approach what appeared to be a homeless man. From an appropriate distance I noticed it all. The man lay on the ground, eyes closed. It was a cold evening and he had not a proper jacket on even, he layed there on the pavement, so cold! He lay out of direct sight, behind a low wall. The policeman woke him up. Asked questions to find out if he was okay or needed an ambulance. The man first responded okay, but startled. Than suddenly the man stood up and started to scream. Leave me! Go away! I did nothing wrong! I do no harm! Just leave me alone! Please, no police!" He was scared. Panicked. Not agressive, but scared. The policeman tried to ease him. He offered the man to bring him to a shelter. Not to stay outside, it was to become a cold night. The man refused. Heavily verbally. Scared to be taken away in a police car perhaps? - notice: this happened in The Netherlands and for most shelters ID papers are needed. No ID papers? Trouble! and refused to have shelter. They did not take him away against his will. Perhaps he was an illegal. Scared for the ID obligation. The police left but returned. The police returned within half an hour with blankets, a thermoscan and what I think was a bag with food. They spoke and when I had to catch my train, they were still talking. The man drinking a warm cup from the thermoscan. At ease. I do not know how it ended. Was he an 'ordinary' homeless man refusing shelter and god knows why? Was he an illegal homeless man (perhaps a refugee?) and scared to be taken into custody? What I saw and heard, was a policeman being so kind and human. To a scared man. Doing first what is needed first. Being human. Get him warmed up. Listen. Be kind. They could have taken him away at first for not having the right papers. Against his will. They did not. I truly believe they helped him to get the help he needs. Giving adresses where to go, and making contact with shelters to help this man. As first offered to take him to a shelter, perhaps they brought him there after all. Convinced the man to not stay the cold night outside. I do not know how it ended up for the man, What I do know, the policeman and his colleague were there to help him. Truly, kind, human. Prick through the man's first verbal reaction wich seemed agressive. A cry out of fear.
And this is exactly why you don't defund the Police, they aren't all bad, in fact the majority are amazing people who deserve to get pay raises for the bravery and selflessness they display on a daily basis. God bless the Police and their families.

*+Gabbee:* 1:56 to 2:33 made me lose it (I was close to starting on the first clip!) and cry like a baby. Not only did that cop somehow come up with a way to change the mind of the potential jumper/suicide, but people may not appreciate the great risks to his own life that he took from the moment he reached out and touched the man to assist him over. In a flash, the man could take him with him; thankfully he didn't want to do that, or even to die himself in that moment. The hug the officer offered was when I really lost all of my tears... it is just not something that you see everyday, and even _that_ move could have potentially gone very wrong. Twice the police officer gave all of himself to a man that needed him right then. But the officer must have had an instinct and intuition about the man's character, just as the man must have made a connection to the cop during one of the most trying moments of his life-- with trust. I hope that all has went well for them both after this incident that brought their lives together in those moments. We are all just human. We need each other. Brayden Jolly Yeah same
I KNOW RIGHT!! i saw that first things first and i knew the leash got caught to something when he tried to jump out!
when did the owner get the blame? it was like 3 pictures... for all you know the owner could have been praised for letting the windows down..
Samuel Kelly-Edwards were talking about the comments every one is saying the dog owner should be punished for trying to hurt the dog.
THE THING WITH THE DOG tho. WHO THE FUCK WOULD DO THAT
i hate people that do that
I think the dog tried to jump out of the car and the leash got stuck (open window, looked like a hot day).
This proves that not ALL cops are BAD!
The news needs to show more of this!
Thank you for this video...it's good to see that people still care about police officers. and yes I cried like a baby.
im sueing you for making me cry
💖i love police
that kid was raised right. So many kids nowadays have no respect for the police who everyday put their lives on the line to keep us safe. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PUT THAT UNIFORM ON EVERYDAY. God bless you and keep you safe
I sincerely respect the police officers, and cannot think about the would without them.
